Black Mages

Well I scanned back a few pages and was suprised to see that no one had made a topic about this awsome band. Basically just post your favourite songs and whether or not they do justice to the FF series.

I reckon theyre great, and some of the covers are actually better than the OSTs (purists might disagree) such as FF6 Battle theme and FF8 Boss theme.

5.Vincent Theme (I found it odd that a piano version of Vincent theme would be found on a rock n roll album. Either way its a good version)

I'm pretty sure that version of Vincent's theme you mentioned isn't by the Black Mages.

They only have two albums, don't they? Or am I mistaken?

im listening to the FF6 boss theme by black mages as we speak. my other favourites are probably "clash on the big bridge" and "man with the machine gun." the zeromus theme is also pretty awesome.

My favorite songs by the Black Mages are Advent: One-Winged Angel (performed by the Black Mages in FF: More Friends concert), Rocking Grounds (FFIII battle theme, FF: More Friends concert version), Zeromus (FFIV), Battle with the Four Fiends (FFIV) and Those Who Fight Further (FFVII).

Well, they are arranging songs from video games, so I guess it just circles around there.

I strongly disagree that this thread should be moved here. It is a band, techincally they arent gaming songs.They're a band whose repertoire, with the singular exception of that kickboxer's theme song, consists entirely of Final Fantasy songs. Their leading man is Uematsu himself. No deal.

Just because a band does a cover, doesn't mean that they are infact the same song/band. If Led zepplin did a cover of ACDC's thunderstrike, you wouldn't list it as one of your favourite ACDC songs. It'd be one of your favourite Led Zepplin songs.

I thought for a moment before making this thread, and I concluded that it should go in the lounge. So it frustrates me that it gets moved immediatley. If I had put this here, I bet you 20$ itd have been moved to the lounge.
