The Devil Man

This Thread is so blatantly inspired by the amazing Devil Man's 'When people change their Avatars' thread. Way to go Devil Man, you handsome, dazzling, amazing and v-e-r-y sexy guy you!

So, like, yeah! What do you think when people go changin' their Usernames? Don't ya just hate it? Or do you not mind? Does it confuse the heck outta ya? Do you think the Admins are just too polite and sweet and should stop such a nefarious (<--- I think I spelt that word right) deed?

What doooooooo you think? :spin:

:) Poor admins, I had a forum and I was the only person who would change my username thank God no one ever requested it! :D But I don't mind! It's other ppl decision ;)

I'd only not be bothered by a user name name change if I wasn't familiar with the member or the new user name is several leaps better than the last. All other user name changes annoy me.

Mo-Nercy
09-20-2006, 12:22 PM
Well, you're not allowed to do it that often so if the name is a bit tough to adjust to, at least we have plenty of time to do so.

The two times I changed my name have been subtle enough for people to still know who I was, so I don't think I've burdened anyone too much.

I don't come around much these days, but I think it would be far less annoying if, instead of asking an administrator in a single private message, people simply insisted in every thread, regardless of the topic, that everyone should start calling them by a new name. That's a far better system in my mind.

If the new nick is totally different from the former nick and that user even changes his/her avatar, I'll have a hard time recognizing that forumer. For example, imagine if Christmas suddenly had a Squall avatar and she renamed herself to "Halloween". :p Name changes can sometimes be a good thing, but they're confusing quite often.

Name changes kind of annoy me, unless, like been saidlled, it's from a crappy name to a better one. A lot of people just can't stick to a name, yet still can't seem to find something even vaguely original (they go through a hundred names that all end in different numbers?). But it's their choice, I guess. They're all just searching for their own place of awesomeness. And I say God speed on their journey.

Name changes don't bother me too much except for that fact that I don't notice them unless I speak to them on a regular basis.

As for me I have been thinking of droping the Nakamura from my name at some piont and just going with Shun. Mainly cause I have too many different nicks off of it and Shun should be readibly recognized by anyone knowing my other aliases(unless you know me by Hunnuli which is the name I went by for years online). Actually, maybe I will drop back to my old one(Hunnuli). Surprises me that neither Shun or Hunnuli is taken here.
