LOS ANGELES - McDonald’s Corp. may soon offer its breakfast menu all day long as a new restaurant layout will make it easier to prepare a wide variety of foods at once, its chief executive said Wednesday.

Speaking at the Bank of America 36th Annual Investment Conference in San Francisco, McDonald’s CEO Jim Skinner said the company was implementing a new restaurant operating system that would finally make selling breakfast all day possible.

“It’s not compatible with our current operating system,” Skinner said about offering its breakfast menu all day. “But with this system, that could be possible.”

The only things I like from McDonald's are pancakes, vanilla milkshakes, and double cheeseburgers. Naturally, if I could buy all at once then I would be happy.

That is a brilliant move.

When I used to eat at McDonalds, my favorite stuff was the breakfast items. Too bad I hate McDonalds now or I would be really happy. :p

I guess that's a good thing, unless they make it all greasy. McDonalds already opens pretty early and some people do eat breakfast, so why not add something besides a hamburger for a breakfast option? I don't really see the harm in this, yet. Although I guess it could encourage more people to eat breakfast at McDonalds, so it'll be fun to see what the breakfast products will be like.

edit: Oh wait, you Americans already have a breakfast menu? You lucky dogs. :mad2: Seems I skipped that little "all day" info.

Now, tell me. What's on the menu?

I wonder if this will be a world wide venture or just a US experiment.

Good stuff, but I imagine I'd care more if I went to McD's more, and BK less.

This thread makes me hungry :(

I'm not a big fan of McD's at all, though.

I would be happy if their breakfast stuff wasn't so expensive in comparison to the other stuff they serve. $2 for an egg mcmuffin is bull/xxx.gif/xxx.gif/xxx.gif/xxx.gif. It should be a $1

EDIT: It isn't even like the food is healthy to justify the add $$$$

No, because I hate McDonald's and everything they stand for (and all other fast-food chains for that matter.)

Yet another product of our rushed, commercial lives, feeding us everything guaranteed to be low-quality, unhealthy, and addicting food.

Well, after they get most of us fat and diabetic, what will ever get done in this world?

I don't really buy the breakfast at McDonalds, I like the breakfast items they have in Burger King better.

09-21-2006, 12:22 AM
Well, that's good news for me, because I never have a chance to go there in the mornings, and that's the only thing they have that really entices me. Especially since the nearest one is like, five minutes from an In-N-Out.

Sausage and Egg McMuffin at 6:00 PM = :<3:

Silence, noob!

I love the idea, though the novelty of how awesome their breakfast menu is would make it seem a lot less special.

I'm a big sucker for Mickey D's Sausage Biscuits w/ Egg! Hopefully this should give me an excuse to drop the Big Mac when I get something for lunch or dinner!

Of course, anytime I go to a restaurant that serves breakfast all day (such as IHOP), I take advantage of it all the time. :D

Sounds good.

I work at McDonalds and let me say this... Most cooked items are only allowed to stay in the production bin for 10 minutes and we all know that doesn't happen :p If the breakfast menu was sold all day on top of the normal menu, then it'd just make everything even less fresh than it already is.

* Jedi mind trick * You've heard nothing. McDonalds is a provider of high quality, extremely tasty and above all, healthy, food.

If you look past all the weasel words, McDonald's is basically saying they are catering to a wider demographic (people who eat their breakfast menu items) by letting them buy from McD's all day.

Ie: haha you will give us more money!

I approve of this move, btw. Both the breakfast and the mcd's making more money.

I'd be happier if they served burgers and the like before 10, rather than the vastly inferior breakfast menu after 10. If I was bacon and egg I'll go to a greasy spoon, not McD's.

I JUST LEARNED BREAKFAST GRILL THIS MOOOOOORRRRRRRNNNNIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGG AHHHHGGGGGGHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! we cant do that anyways, we don't have enough grease vats to make 4 baskets of fries, 2 baskets of hash browns, a basket of selects, a basket of mcchicken, a basket of nuggets, and a basket of fillet all at the same time!!!!! plus that would take too much time to switch the grill temps and settings to sausage, then eggs, then warm it up again for 15 mins to make reg meat, then even more for quarter meat.........!!!!!!!! im panicking just thinking about the chaos!!!!!!!!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

but on the made for you system, it would be horrid to do something as reckless as that, considering our Maccas doesnt live by the 50% out front, 50% out back, it would be a horror D:

Jack In The Box already serves breakfast 24 hours a day and they are much better than McDonalds, so i don't care that much. But I do kinda like McD chicken biscuits. I don't know if they have them outside the South though.

The McMuffins or any other breakfast stuff they sell is a lot more satisfying that the regular stuff they sell.
