Steiner or Beatrix

I want to know who do you think is the better knight. They are both strong, honourable and loyal knights so it might be a dificult decision.

I personally like Steiner because he has better sword skills, he is loyal to Garnet throughout the game and he is much funnier than Beatrix. But I do admire Beatrix because she eventually goes against Queen Brahne and defends Garnet.

If it's about skills, Beatrix was always ahead of Steiner, IIRC, and the same could be said about her knights compared to Steiner's knights. Besides, Steiner and three other party members fought Beatrix in Alexandria, and they still lost to her. As for their characters, I like them both.

Beatrix is stronger. If she can beat an Alexandrian captain, a Dragon Knight of Burmecia, A black mage with incredible power and a theif I'm fairly sure she is better. Also in the game she says she once killed 100 knights single handedly.

A) She looks way cooler
B) Her sword looks cooler
C) She is faster
D) You rarely use her in a battle

E) Her abilities are way better compared to steiners at the time of playing her (without codes)

I think steiner is waaay cool eventually he becomes the STRONGEST charecter in the game.not only does he have wicked sword skill but he can also do sweet sword magic like flare sord or any of the best elemental magic sword attacks.;)

there both balanced beatrix has white magic and sword skills. but steiner has sword magic which is basically black magic and sword skills to me there even one uses white magic the other uses black... the sword skills are pretty much the same....

Steiner's stronger in the end...Beatrix have to be win the battle in the starting because if not FF9 can't establish her as a powerful yet loyal general...As for Steiner...FF9 can't give you a strong Steiner because it's a character you have to control..My meaning is Beatrix when we fight her in battle she maybe already learned most of her techniques which Steiner haven't...but still...there are equally powerfull...I vote both of them rocks..

in personality, steiner is almost definetly better because hes a main character and developed on more (im not being completely ignorant of beatrixes personality. i just like steiners more.) in battle steiner is more useful at the end because he gets all of beatrixes abilities apart from the white magic, but garnet and eiko are all the healing you'll need. and steiners magic sword is always useful.

i just like steiner more. he has some funny moments.

Beatrix, she's waaaay smarter than steiner, doesnt do that cheap slapstick comedy like the black-and-white era comedians did, and she's stronger than steiner when you first use her. She would probably be stronger through the whole game too if you actually got to keep her >_<

The game isn't designed so that she'd be a permanent party member, so you never know how her stats would have developed if Square had made her an actual party member. For the time she fights on your side, she's still very useful since her attacks do a lot of damage, she can use all those cool sword techniques and she can heal.

That's so true and I always wondered how do they always get up so quickly after all of them getting their HP reduced to 1? Beatrix should've been the Angel of death and not Kuja I like both of them though.

My vote goes to Beatrix. All of Steiner's best moves, none of the useless ones, and some pretty decent White Magic as well.

Not to mention that at Lv99 Beatrix's Save the Queen has an Atk power of 122, 14 more than Steiner's Excalibur II (108).

I liked Steiner better as a character, because he made me laugh. :D

However, I do agree on Beatrix being superior; but I also liked to think Steiner was more of the physical guy, while Beatrix was a bit of an average Paladin.
