Which FF Game has Your Favourite Music?

This is a poll which asks which game in the series has the best overall soundtrack in your opinion. Choose wisely. If you feel that more than one game ties for first place, state this in your post and choose one to vote for. It's a public poll.

It was tricky for me too choose, but overall I thought FF9 had a lot of good tunes, and the sound quality had improved. I haven't played all of them, but out of those I had played it was my favourite. The runner ups for my choice were FF7 and FF4.

Also, I put FF 13 there for the countries in which it has already been released, and also for those who have heard some of the music already available and have chosen it based on that.

Final Fantasy III, but if I could pick multiple choices, I'd also pick Final Fantasy IV, VI, VIII, and Tactics.

I listen to VII's stand out songs the most...but overall... I'd have to say VI or VIII. But now I can't choose. I'll toss a coin or something.

Just going by the original sound versions, I'd have to say FF8's was the most satisfying as a whole collection.

almost EVERYTHING in FFX!
My favorites would be A Fleeting Dream
and the catchy little tunes playing when you fight the aeons and yu yevon at the end.

FFX. A few of them have stand out songs like One Winged Angel and Eyes On Me, but as a whole I just love FFX's soundtrack. To Zanarkand, Otherworld, A Fleeting Dream, Attack and Yunas Theme are all great.

FFX definantly. I loved To Zanarkand (I'm currently teaching myself to play that on the piano) the opening FMV theme song, Tidus's theme and Yuna's theme. I also loved the Hymn of the Fayth. I also liked the music they played at the end as well. I'm a sucker for ballads like that so yeah FFX definantly. Also FFVII: AC Aeris's Theme is another one that really grabbed me and I loved that bad ass guitar riff from the Forgotten City scene in the movie. My hubby just learned how to play that last night too :P

X and X-2. Every song on 10 i like. The soundtrack is so solid in my opinon. Suteki da ne is the most beautiful song ever made. But i like X-2 because my bro bought me the soundtrack and i was addicted to it. 1000 words is another beautiful song and eternity memory of light and waves is amazing. And i also like yuna's voice collection for x-2, morning glow and kimi he are also amazing :D

I thought 8's soundtrack was not only good, but the music always fit well with the scene or the place etc... Good variety too. 10 had an awful soundtrack. with the exception of a few tunes (Decisive Battle is AMAZING), few of them were very catchy, and lacked the hooks that other FFs had. 6 had so many good hooks in all their tunes. Pretty melodies. 8 wins though for sure

It's a close call between FFVIII and FFIX, but I think the former wins out for me, mainly through the highs of that soundtrack being so wonderful - Liberi Fatali, Balamb Garden, Fisherman's Horizon, The Castle, Ending Theme...

VII has a catchy soundtrack, but the favorite fight music (normal battle sequence) is IX for me.

X was pretty horrible except for a few tunes.

Definitely VI, though Crystal Chronicles has a nice OST.
