Holy carp, no.

I never buy a console on the release date, for obvious reasons.

If I didn't have a mortgage I'd get one.

Even if it didn't cost $600, I have a feeling that the PS3 will have lots and lots of problems in it's first shipment. So no, I think I'll wait, or get one and sell it on EBay along with eveyone else.

I did that with my xBox 360 and PSP. I bought them when they first came out, and then flogged them on eBay for ridiculous prices. My Parents said that I was a dishonest scumbag, but as far as I'm concerned, if people are willing to pay stupid prices for products, it's their own decision and shouldn't be questioned. At least that's what my bank balance told me at the time.

I'm going to wait a bit before I get one.

No, cant afford it. And I dont want to fall into the crowd with faulty machines. It happened to me with the PS2, and I wont let it happen again.

But seeing as the European launch is so far behind, when they do start manufacturing PS3's for Europe, they'd fix any of the problems that occur from the November launch in Japan and US.

...and create some brand new ones in the process, no doubt.

Unlikely. But some problems with the PS3 may only occur after a year or two, so the European systems will likely have those, if of course, there are any faults.

I won't, but only because I don't want the hassle of trying to get one on launch day with the limited numbers. I'll wait until early next year perhaps.

If it was affordable, I still wouldn't buy one at launch because Sony has a terrible track record with the quality of the first models of their consoles.

Too expensive, too likely to bust, and yet barren of any interesting games.

Agreed. Once they get their stuff sorted, it's damn good stuff. But until then, it's not worth it (Remember having to turn the PSX upside down?)

I will. It's going to stay in the box for a month and then a few days before Christmas, my Paypal account will be overflowing because of some spoiled kid who's parents would pay a ri-goddamn-diculous amount of money for something that's going to eventually crash and burn buys it on eBay for a couple of thousand dollars.

'tis the season. <3

Wish I could, but it will be much too expensive for me to buy when it first comes out.

Also, I do not want a glitchy launch system, which PSX and PS2 were when they first came out.

It's worth it to at least wait until after Christmas when the bustle has died down.

I won't be personally buying a PS3 as I have not yet (to this date) purchased a console. I'm content with my PCs.

I've been planning to buy it all along. I might not if that rumor about prices being 100$ per game actually is proven, though. If Sony is actually considering this hopefully from the reactions so far they won't. I'd rather buy an expensive console than high-priced games.

EDIT: Given the fact that it may have problems at launch as other posters said, I think I'll wait a bit as well.

I most certainly will not. This is because of obvious production faults and the high price.

I'll wait till it's game library gets more good games, and less non-racing games.

Probably not.

That's how I feel. And $600 is out of my budget. I jsut can't afford it. It was hard enough to get $400 for my 360. Besides, for that amount I can make my wife(Nintendo freak) happy with a Wii and a ton of games for UNDER $600.

Even if the PS3 were affordable, I still wouldn't get one at launch thanks to Sony's craptastic track record with its first batches of systems, not to mention no games for it to be released at launch interest me right now.

Yeah, that's the plan for a lot of people.
