This time around, i am wondering... which game have you played over and over and over and over again? Which games have you really enjoyed so much that you've played them again and again?

Mine would be Onimusha 2 (which was largely made by the same team that did Devil May Cry).

I absolutely love Onimusha 2 out of all 4 games in the series (or 6 if you include Blade Warriors and the Tactics version on the GBA). I think it is a gorgeous game with beautiful music and a real sense of atmosphere. I don't get bored of it and will play it many more times. I think so far I have played and beaten it about 25 times since I bought it in 2003.

:save: Edit: After reading some Posts below, I would also like to add: Number of hours you put into a game also counts. Example: Number of hours you put into a Final Fantasy game or another RPG :save:

Which games have you played many, many times and truly loved?

I've spend some ridiculous amount of time playing FFX,but i only finished it 2 times.
The first game i ever played on my PS was Tomb Raider 2.I think i beated it 5-6 times.Ever since i never beated a game more than 2 times.

Final Fantasy VI and Final Fantasy Tactics, Spider-Man 2, and uh... I guess that's it, but I think there's more.

Resident Evil 2 I must of completed about 15 times. I tried doing the Hunk and Tofu Mini-Games but for some reason didn't get Tofu. I also attempted to beat it using just the Knife.

Final Fantasy IX and Tomb Raider 2 would be close behind on hours spent playing, though i've only completed them both twice.

Shenmue-For some reason I never get tired of either instalment of this series.

Off topic but it must be said:
Shenmue III is the one game that I would love to see made. This game has a great story with really interesting characters but unfortunately has no ending yet. All the Shenmue fans should hold hands and pray Yu Suzuki gets his act together and finally decides to continue the series.:D

Its between Street Fighter 3 : Third Strike, Guilty Gear X2 and FFVII.

These games never get old to me, and I could play then endlessly.

I find myself going through Super Metroid speed runs and Chrono Trigger replays about once or twice a year.

Final Fantasy 8, it made me play it so much that the disk couldn't work anymore at the FMVs

Final Fantasy, Final Fantasy VI (as III on the SNES), Dragon Warrior III.

Of course, this was back in my younger years when I had more time to play video games.

1) Capcom vs. SNK 2: Mark of the Millennium 2001
2) Street Fighter 3: Third Strike
3) Final Fantasy 1, 6, 8, Tactics
4) Guitar Hero

Sierra's Quest for Glory I-IV for the PC back in the day.

They're not even inherently replayable, but I love them to death. I've completed the same hero, a maxed-out paladin with magic and thief abilities (only used for "good" of course ;) ), at least 30 times. :rolleyes2

On consoles:
A Link to the Past probably 20+.

There are a number of games I've played at least three times. I'm really bad about replaying favorites and missing out on trying something new. I'm the same with movies and books...I've read Ender's Game over ten times. :(

FFX, Metal Gear Solid, GTA VC, Pokémon Blue (;o) Metal Gear 3, Tenchu 2 and Tenchu 3.

loved the mission editor on tenchu 2! By the time I got it I must've played it for a year or so, with ofcourse some breaks for other games. FFX counts in at a 240 hour total I think, GTA VC probably 300 hours or so.

Actually, I always find myself going back to FFVI when I feel the urge. I've been playing it on and off now for 11 years. Usually 1 year on, 4 years off.

With other people: CBFD, Mario games (Mario Kart, Mario Party etc...) SW Battlefront 2.

By my self: My FFX has like 220 hours on it... My Kingdom Hearts has 80 :rolleyes2 .

Oh and Age of Mythology. I've spent at least 1000 hours on that games. And another 500 making scenarios.

The game I've played most is definately Super Smash Bros. Melee, me and my friends have put so much time into that game.

The RPG I've played most is FFIX. I've got past the 99:99:99 mark and into the red.

No one has ever heard of this old DOS PC game called Ascendency. It was space strategy game. I must have played and beaten it at least 25 times. And I can't even count the number of times I played and beat Civilization II!

based on the hours probably FF9 that is one game that have to take your time with because for some reason its much longer than any of the other FF's! :D as for number of replays probably FF10 because of that crappy shpere grid and its nasty habit of the difficult bits creeping up on you.....and for number of completions soul blade (3 FULL completions) , tekken 3 (4 FULL completions) and sonic the hedgehog (6 playthroughs only twice with all the emeralds) for the sega master system....true classic and probably one of the best in the series! :D ;) :p

Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy X, Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Super Mario World, Yoshi's Island, Super Mario Bros. 3, Duke Nukem 3D, Little Big Adventure, Little Big Adventure II, Simtower, Lost Eden, Sonic 1, 2, 3 & 4, Banjo Kazooie, Goldeneye, Super Mario Kart 64, Zelda: Link's Awakening...

I've spent more time that I care to recall on the above games.

A waste of time? Perhaps.

Final Fantasy VIII is definitely my most replayed Final Fantasy. But it's been a while since I've last touched it.

Chrono Trigger is probably a worthy rival. I've New Game+'ed so much xD

But I don't think either of these games stand up to the dominance of Soul Calibur 2. On PS2, I played almost everyday for more than a year. At the arcades, I was a regular who went 3-4 times a week to play about 3-4 hours worth. There was a period when this dude with the 1337est Ivy I've ever played against convinced me to wait around at the arcade until about 6pm because that's when the real pros started turning up. For about a month, I was playing the best players in Sydney and losing sooo bad xD. The game slowly became less popular as Tekken 5 began picking up a fanbase just as I was starting to get good enough to take a few rounds off the pros. :(

I still play a bit now, but I've been on the Tekken 5 bandwagon for a while now (though I still suck) and if I'm going to play a Soul Calibur, it makes more sense to play SC3.

EDIT: I just remembered that I've spent a lot of time (and money) on Initial D: Arcade Edition. DRIFT~

Out of the longer games, I think Seiken Densetsu 3 and Final Fantasy I are the games that I've played the most. Other than that, I've finished Dune 2 several times with all the houses, and I've played loads of StarCraft and its expansion set, Brood War. I've also played the NHL games a lot, especially NHL 2001, which I think was one of the better titles in the series.

Here's what I can think of right now.

Call of Duty: United Offensive [Multiplayer] (PC): This expansion pack basically made everything in the game better. I was never able to get into CoD2's PC multiplayer, so I've played this consistently since it came out about 2 years ago.

Super Smash Bros. Melee (GCN): I honestly don't think this game will ever get old for me. I've yet to find a time where I didn't feel like playing a few rounds.

Mario Kart Double Dash!! (GCN): Same as with SSBM. I'm almost always up for a round of racing and red shells.

Thief (PC): The original Thief will always have a place in my heart, and its large and open missions allow for a different game every time.

Super Metroid (SNES): This game is pure 2D bliss for me. That is all.

Can't think of any games that I've spent way too much time on that aren't online. Usually after finishing a game I rarely go back even when I say that I miss playing. My sister, however, finished Zelda Wind Waker 15 times!

Now - At this specific time its Kindom Hearts 2 seeing as its just come out

This year - Harvest Moon: A Wonderful life for the gamecube. Completed the story through to the end with all three marriages!! :D

Last few years - SSX 3 and Final Fantasy X and VIII methinks

When I ickle - Broken Sword:Shadow of the Templars!! It was such a great game i didnt understand it but i never stopped playing through it! and defo Super mario bros 3 on the snes. (mario allstars) i loved that game...

Overall tho it has to be tetris. It was the first game i got on the game boy when i got my Yellow Game Boy Pocket and i played it for hours and hours. Still play the old one and enjoying Tetris DS nowadays.
