Goldenboco Vs FFIV!

I started this challenge because I have already beaten FFIV on the Game Boy and wanted to make the hard type version even harder (not to mention give me a reason to play it instead of FFV VI or Chrono Trigger)

The challenge is...

LOWEST LEVEL POSSIBLE! Basically that means I'm going to try to skip all battles except bosses. There are bosses that may require leveling up but I hope to beat the game with the highest character's level around 27. I haven't found an FAQ on this so if I can pull this off well I think I may make one. The challenge has proved challenging (I'm stuck on Baigan). I will list all the times that I leveled up.

Part 1- Mist Cave
I escaped al battles, gathered all the chests and easily defeated the First boss

Boss 1-Mist Dragon
Levels when facing it beginning stats (Cecil lvl 10 Kain lvl 10)
This battle was really easy attack constantly until you think its going to go into mist form. I don't recommend jump seeing as you can it him accenditally when he is in mist form. No healing was necassary, as long as you don't attack during mist form you'll win.
This battle causes Cecil to level up 1.

I remember I did one of these back when I was young just because I thought it was the only way to make Cecil Dark Knight beatable. :rolleyes2

I'd like to add to the challenge. I'm just starting FFIV again, so I'm kind of curious to try. We'll see who comes out the lowest.

Just passed Baigan myself. Cecil's unfortunatly up to level 10 on my file already. Where are you?

What happened to Goldenboco? No more FFVI low level?

next time im in the mood for a challenge (i've but the solo yuffie challenge on hold while im beating FF6.) i might try this because FF8 si too easy and some of the FF9 challenges like level one ozma are possible but seem to take ages and loads of preparation. it will be a hard challenge because you wont have any good spells and will be forced to fight mind and breath in he final floors because you wont have edges smoke ability.

where are you on the challenge so far?

Well, if you're asking me (since Goldenboco seems to be bye bye), I'm at lvl 12 with Cecil and I'm fighting Dark Elf right now. I keep getting owned.

Part 2 Soldiers in Kaipo
I fled 2 battles on the way to Kaipo
Boss 2 Genera, Soldiers(3) Current Levels 11
This was an easy battle, I used Darking killing two soldiers and attack on the last one dipensing of him as well. Afterwards the general fled.
Part 3 The Water Cavern
I picked up everything, and ran from all battles
Boss 3 Octomamm Current Party levels Cecil 11 Rydia 1 Tellah 20
This battle was a bit tough but was still easy. Rydia immediately died, I left her dead aware reviving her would be a waste of time. Cecil and Tellah attacked (Tellad used bolt1) when Octomamm was down to 3 legs I used Cure2 to assure victory.

how did you get cure 2?

i dont think tellah can use remember to cast that spell.

Yeah he can actually, at the moment I just beat Cagnazzo. I took notes so I could post them later.

Somethings going to give. Especially once you Paladinize. You'll be lvl one with little chance of bringing your stats to normal. Plus I remember a FFX no sphere challenge that was stopped by Seymour 4 casting Fire 3 instantly knocking all out. The only challenges I've done are FF1 DoS with like all mages, and all fighters, and no fighters. My all fighter group took forever buying Knights armor and is having trouble on chaos.

Actually the paladin thing barely slowed me down right now I am at Valvaluris (Ok I can't spell her name, the Wind Fiend) and would be farther but I'm playing FFVI more then IV. It can, and will be done! Also no sphere challenges have been done, and Kain's jump ability will save me from that problem.


PS- I've taken notes on all the bosses thus far and will post them eventually, I've been to lazy.
