View Full Version : How good would you be?

If you were sat in a room on your own all day, with the entire house empty and nobody for miles, supposed to be doing work, yet with the internet and eyes on ff, and lastFM and ebay and play.com sitting in front of you.... would you be good and just concentrate on your work (which you're being paid for, remember), or surf the net like crazy?
Well I'm somewhere in between, but I just can't concentrate today plus I have no fun work to do so I'm being distracted and looking at the net far too much ;__; I feel a bit guilty though, but I don't like being left on my own so much either! Well I kinda do, but it makes me get distracted :( I need discipline!
I just compulsively browse EoFF and Kotaku when I'm at work. In a nine hour shift, I do maybe two hours total of actual work, and I'm head of my department. It's mind-numbingly boring, however.

I'd finish the work in record time, then go on TEH CMOP.

You forgot Kingdom Hearts 2. Now that's a distraction if I ever saw one.
Hmm, this organisation is strongly sentralized and has little to no flexibility, how would I solve that? :/ WITH A KEYBLADE! :jess:

Empty house and nobody for miles? I don't know what I'd be doing, but I'd be doing it naked.

I would completely ignore my work in every single way and browse the internet for hour after hour of wasted time ^_^. As you can see, I am no employee of the month.

Haha. Well it's not MY house...
Luckily the ps2 and kingdom hearts isn't here either. :D But damn internet. The internet needs to be more boring. Maybe I could somehow ban my favourite sites to stop myself accessing them... :O There's an idea.
I feel better that other people would do it.. :P Although if I had some fun stuff to do I'd do that but..I have crap, it's hardly even work more like checking a site I made ages ago and I cant remembeeeer anyway =/

I'd do the work, but have afew breaks in between to surf the net. There naybe no one for miles, but my conscience is right there.
I'd try and do the work alongside surfing the internet, but I doubt I'd get very far. It would depend on my mood, really.

I'd get all of the work out of the way, then surf the net aimlessly.
Priorities, Paula, priorities.

Thanks for that, Dad. :p
As Cz said, it depends on my mood. And as SapphireStar said, my conscience does make sure I don't just aimlessly waste time. Just today really I was especially bad at it.
Anyway my sort of work was not necessarily stuff you just do and get out the way..it's kinda ongoing stuff. Sometimes I just look out the window and think, I was I was one of those sheep just standing in that field. It's just human to be incredibly unable to concentrate sometime...right.. :D

Depends on how much I get paid and how closely I am being supervised.

It's people that distract me more than anything, I'd do my work quickly and then get to fooling around.

I don't have the Internet at home, so I'd be bored /xxx.gif/xxx.gif/xxx.gif/xxx.gifless, read a book or two, and maybe go to sleep. Then I'd wake up and do the work.

I'd finish the work because I usually can do a day's work in half the time but because of the above:
I would be gaming the whole day :D
