Who do you think put on a better performance as Batman Michael Keaton or Christian Bale? Considering that Batman Returns is my favorite Batman movie I'd have to say Michael Keaton. If Batman Begins : The Dark Knight is just as good if not better than Batman Returns then I'll say Christian Bale...But until then Michael Keaton gets my vote.

Keaton, without even a second of hesitation. Bale's pretty good too, but Keaton is in a different league.

Christian Bale. I like his acting, and he gives off a good persona as Batman.

I really like Christian Bale as an actor. He's got a real intensity about him. Keaton was good and I found his performance quite amusing, but I really don't Tim Burton films.

Michael Keaton is a better Batman. Christian Bale is a better Bruce Wayne.

Christian Bale. He was a perfect Batman. I loved how he changed his voice when he was Batman, it made Batman seem more supernatural.

Bale, easily. Not to put Keaton down, he did a fine job, but Bale's in a whole different league.

My vote is with Bale.

I thoroughly enjoyed Batman Begins and thought that it was *gasp* the best in the series.

Bale. Keaton did the best he could with what he had, but I really don't feel the Burton films really had a good sense of any of the characters to begin with. Batman Begins nailed the characters though, in no small part thanks to Bale's fine performance.

It's worth pointing out that, for the most part, Keaton's Batman was always against enemies that outshone him significantly. Hence his performance, in contrast to the players around him, is insignificant. Batman/Batman Returns should have been The Joker and The Penguin and Catwoman respectively.

I agree, Christian Bale was excellent as Batman, and he also did a good job as Bruce Wayne. As for the voice, I think Kevin Conroy also did a great job as Batman.

I voted Michael Keaton just because I liked "Batman" and "Batman Returns" much more than "Batman Begins", which was a slight disappointment in my opinion, although Christian Bale was a good Batman.

Christian as Bateman > Christian as Batman

We should vote who the best Alfred was.

But Christian Bale was good as Batman. Keaton had a emotionless face which made a good Batman also.

So I choose Christian Keaton.

I know the focus of Batman and Batman Returns was less on the title character and more on the main villians...But I think Keaton definitely had a better Batman theme. Don't get me wrong I like Bale's Batman theme but after the movie ended and I left the theater to go home I completely forgot about it. On the other hand Keaton's Batman theme still lingered in my memory after I had seen Batman and Batman Returns.

IMO Michael Keaton. He isnt the orginial Batman, but I think he was the best by far. He IMO suited the Batman persona. He played the part very well and his movies are rewatchable.

This poll makes me sick, Keaton is and always will be the better. Bale has nothing on Keaton.

Yeah. Michael Keaton is a fun guy, but he's just too goofy. He didn't fit with the image of a dark, brooding Batman nearly as well as Bale did. Maybe that was the fault of Tim Burton's take on the character, but either way, Bale was better.

Im stunned to see so many people saying Bale was a better Batman. Keaton donned the cape far better than Bale. It may of been hard for people to think of Keaton as Batman because of his comic roles before, but shouldnt his fine performance changed this ?

Bale is just an actor playing Batman, Keaton is Batman.
