A man in Costa del Sol asks you if you are interested to buy his house for 300.000 gil:eek:
Has anyone actually gave the money?
What do you gain out of it (besides the house)?

I did!!! You don't gain anything but you get to have your own house!!! And Cloud has a wash when you wake up after sleeping there.

I didn't buy the house since I couldn't afford it on Disc 1. There's other places with cheap or free inns anyway. :p

Yep, f f freak is right. Nothing to see there, except a sleepover.

After I had done everything else in the game, I had enough money so I bought it.

It's not nearly as satisfying as buying your own real house. But, if you have the gil such as myself (I sold 14 Master All materia), I bought it because I had nothing else to do. But in disc 1, it's a waste of money because those items in the basement are free anyway.

If you were planning on purchasing 600 Tents, the villa is a good alternative, albeit a rather static option.

its really not worth it, since u can rest for free on oard the highwind. FREE! i do buy it however as i don't feel i have mastered the file if i don't :D

I think the main reason to get it is the satisfaction of doing everything in the game. You're not missing much if you don't, but might as well if you have the Gil to spare.

Go there on disk 2 And you'll get a "X-Life" which can be taken to Aeris...

Heh, Sorry...:D

It's worth it if you have absolutley nothing else to do and want to prove that the characters in games do indeed take bathes, despite the fact that they always wear the same clothes.

If anyone brings up reviving Aeris again I will sick my flying monkeys on you. Fear the monkeys.

yes, lose the stupid Aeris rumors, please.

The house is fun to buy because it is fun to buy a house in a game. There's no real gameplay advantage, but you have so much money by the end that you might as well. Think of it as investing in the local economy.

i bought it anyway. at least i can save 100 Gil each time i rest at the villa. besides, it's one way for how Final Fantasy VIII stays in last place (IMO) b/c having too much Gil is no fun.

Good choice. I sold 1 master all materia and bought this place. It's free, beach-adjacent, and...
Cloud (arms folded): "This is MY villa."

Don't get it if you don't need to, but get it if you can afford it. It's just neat.

Of course I've bought it. I don't always, every time I play through the game, but I have a few times. It's part of mastering the game.

.

It wasn't a rumor, just a really bad joke.

I don't particually like these Aeries jokes, but I figured it might as well be my turn now.

Also, the villa gets a name like "Costa Del Cloud" or "Villa Cloud". Plus it's free to sleep/wash in, and has a lot better looking interior than the Highwind.

its free the rest in but you'll have to rest in it about 1000-2000times to make up the money it cost you.

i bought it when there was nothing left to do and i had everything.

I alway had too little gil in VIII.

I bought the house eventually, used it like twice. 300,000 gil isnt a lot when you fight for hours on end.
