So, recently I was browsing the dead FF:CC forum, to see if anyone here was still talking about it. No one was, and the "NEW FF:CC" thread was still in the exact same spot. :-/ In this thread there was a post that went like this:
Videos:
http://youtube.com/watch?v=hG0xbF7vFhQ - Wii Version
http://youtube.com/watch?v=yd2dhJ0lgOk&search=final%20fantasy%20III - DS Version (Yes I know it says FFIII, but Nintendo screwed up and showed FFCC instead, the difference is obvious).
Personally I think the Wii version looks awesome and that it actually has some kind of story this time around, but I'm still not 100% sure if I'll get a Wii.
Recently, some people were complaining about FF3's chibi style and how it looked like FF:CC. I immediately assumed he was referring to the art style in his description of the second video, so I replied with this:

I know that the style is odd for a numbered Final Fantasy game, but it indeed is Final Fantasy 3. Looky here: http://media.ds.ign.com/media/707/707320/vids_1.html
As for the news, that's quite good. I think I'm the only person who like FF:CC for the GCN. I'm looking forward to the Wii Version.
I never stayed for his next post, but now in the future I see his post, which goes like this:
There was no video playing when they talked about FFIII, Gamespot are the one who added this video.
It was playing on the big screen behind the guy talking, but you're right GameSpot did replace the video of the conference with direct footage.

No they are entirely different games, they just use a similar engine.
Here's more footage of FFIII from YouTube. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A9dYDM6OPWY)
You can tell they are different if you look at things like the characters and setting as well as the battle system.
It was that last part that caught my eye. Characters? Setting? Battle System? Then AND now, I assumed it was just some cut-scene. But since then, I have played FF:CC enough to notice the things he was talking about.
Firstly, the character shown most uses the same bow flinging animation four times in the video. If it was a bunch of different cut-scenes, it would be rather cheap of Square to use that animation so many times. Unless of course it's an attack normally done. But the setting is obviously NOT a battle screen, so that can't be right.

Of course, that could just be Square being incredibly cheap. But look at that last picture again.

It's hard to see, but the character pointed out appears to be a Yuke from FF:CC! Here's a picture of the Yuke as shown in FF:CC:

Kinda groovy if you ask me. Now look at the next 2 pictures, which have another race from FF:CC!

Anyone can tell what this is, even from the blur. It's quite clearly a Lilty!

And not only that, here's a picture of the crab boss shown earlier, but from the front:

It's somewhat hard to tell, but this is sort of a watered down version of the first boss of FF:CC. Here's the first boss of FF:CC as shown in FF:CC:

The first difference between the 2 is obvious, that being the color. However, they both seem to have a giant shield in their right hand/claw. Also, both seem to have swords stuck in the shield. =O I'd recommend looking at the trailer itself instead of these pictures. It's much easier to see everything then.
Upon searching around the forum, it seems as though no one has pointed this out. Perhaps it was too obvious TO point out. Maybe the footage shown was so boring no one bothered to look at it enough to notice. Maybe I just missed another thread that pointed it out. Maybe this thread will be closed due to the trailer being old. :(
Anyway, I put this in the FF3 forum because it seems that some of the older footage of FF3 might actually have been of a totally different game that wasn't meant to be shown. Plus, this forum is alive. >.>
