View Full Version : UK Christmas meet up?

Christmas seems to be getting closer and closer...I was thinking, it would be cool to have a meet up at Xmas!! Same old shindig, stay in a hotel, get drunk etc etc...but with a feeling of jolly and snow. And this time I will NOT be ill and be unable to stay in the hotel. I'm going all the way baby.
Anybody want to extend on this idea?

This is only a thought. If it's not a popular idea then we won't do it.

Kagga

hmm christmas sounds like it could be interesting. only problems being a lot of members will be all like "oh but my family" ect. (no offense guys) but as far as I know me and tinkers have it available.

I am flying into Birmingham on December 30th and fully intend on having an EOFF meetup then. A thread about it is in GC here somewhere.

that however hero would be new years and therefore birmingham would be the city of much trouble (kinda normal at that time)

I can only attend a London meet-up because I'd have to commute.

Birmingham is such a trek for me, especially for only a meetup. Im not saying everyone should come to London, but could there be a meetup anywhere closer. This could give the chance for some more people to attend a meetup.

dreddz I'm from london too it only cost me like 100 quid for both me and twisted tinkerbell to go at easter and that covered the cost of a seperate room for us two

Im only going to say maybe at the moment. I still dont know whether Im going to be free on that date anyway. Christmas is a very busy time for me, so travelling anywhere would be unlikely, especially somewhere like Birmingham.

However, if I have the time, money and will power, why not....

Same here. Im in Manchester and even though Im 21, my parents would most probably not let me travel down to London alone.

*ahem*

You're making out that we midlanders are the only ones who can have meet-ups. Why don't you do your own London one when you want? We don't get special priority, we go through the same channels as anyone. We put the thread up, we wait and hope for interest!
Why not do that instead of moaning about people not coming to London? I wouldn't think Kagga would (and I know I certainly don't) know much about London to even dare arrange a meet-up there.
If you want a meet-up in London, make one. Not now (We have this one) but next time theres a holiday period.
And as for trek, I live in Swansea and I'm a student. I'm still going. Thats a trek.

In other news, would you like any help Kagga? You can be boss, but I'll help if thats okay? Oh yes, I'm going if it goes ahead. How could I not?

A early idea, if we have it on the 29th (with a night over) then we'll involve undeadhero, as well as avoiding most of the "lovely" Birmingham New Year stuff. A 2 day event will also allow people more opportunity to join in with the meet-up, be it on one day or the other. I'd go on the 29th (Because I'm hardcore) but some could be only free on the 30th. Stuff like that really. And then we can be with our families on that "important" date of the year.

Like I said in hero's thread, I'll make this if I can. As we get closer to the date I'll let you know.

I'll do my darndest, but, like Cz said, until it gets closer to the actual dates I would be TBC.

As much as I love the "It's cool to insult Psy!" thing that's going on here, it's wonderfully off topic so, y'know, stop. Have a handy dandy day!
