I just farted so I decided to make this a topic. What causes us to fart well I hope to find out. Oh also when I eat certain foods I get mega farts that really stink. Also what determines the stinky facter in our farts. Thanks :D

My dog makes the nastiest farts and stinks up the entire house. As for me, I'm human, and I emitted certain amounts of methane in the air when the pressure inside exceeds a certain psi.

You don't need to count the exact number of times, but a rough estimate is pretty easy to guess. Either your gassy or your not.;)

well it is to with (if I am right which I like to think I am) our diets and things we consume, it also has to do with yeast. How often is it you eat certain foods and feel bloaty then let out the most outrageous fart ever? in these cases the food you are consuming is feeding the yeast and bacterium in your intestines thus making their excretement which is methane which is passed through your colon to the rectum ending in flatulence. Other things can make you fart such as air getting up your anus (if someone goes for colonic irregation expect it) which can often bring on farts however, if you wish to fart less then you need to either go to a spa and have colonic irregation or have a friend (one with whom you are very close and do not mind being naked/humiliated/embarrassed in front of) who knows how to perform an enema (sp?) and that will mean fewer bouts of flatulence.
