Nintendo announced today that it will begin taking pre-orders for the GameCube version of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess in Japan beginning November 6th. However, the game can only be ordered online through the official Nintendo website. The company will ship copies of the game for 6,800 yen ($56.98 USD) apiece beginning on December 2nd. The game's Wii version will be available through the usual retail channels, though.

That's pretty freaking stupid, if I do say so myself.

It's just in Japan. I'm sure it'll be sold in stores in the US. If they'd just add 16x9 mode to the GameCube version, I could save 250 bucks. :(

If it's only available online in America, it'll be available in stores in Canada. It always seems to work that way.
