Effective March, the development house that has brought us such incredible gaming experiences as Okami and Viewtiful Joe, whose name is an abridgment of "creativity lover," will be no more (http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3154381).

This is a huge loss, I think. I can only hope Inaba and his crew will resign from Capcom and found a completely independent company, or at least find a different company to fund their projects. But those are best-case scenarios.

Those are sad news.If anything else it shows that the industry depends mostly on sequels and remakes...

This is heartbreaking.

Perhaps Nintendo will take this opportunity and speak with them. Okami seemed like an adopted Nintendo game, not to mention how much it would seem to 'fit' with the Wii. Though Okami still 'belongs' to Capcom, so we still might not see it there, but Clover did good stuff as far as I know (haven't played God Hand yet).

I'm very disappointed to hear this as Clover made some of the most original titles in the industry. It's too bad that Godhand had turned out to be so lackluster, very surprising from such a talented company.

I guess this means there's not going to be any more original series coming our way from Capcom. Back to the way things used to be, sequel after sequel, just the way I hate it.

You beat me to everything I ever find out about. :(

At least God Hand got released before the shutdown.

That's really horrible. They've been responsible for some of the most interesting, creative games of the last several years. I hope they go independent, or get picked up by another developer.

They can still make things until March.

But yeah, I've heard about this. It's really too bad. We can only hope for the best.

The rumor on Kotaku (http://www.kotaku.com/gaming/clover/rumor-clover-to-break-from-capcom-207177.php) says they split because they wanted to go indepenent. That could be quite promising.
