Miami had just gone up 14-0 and a couple of FIU players decided to show their manliness by kicking and punching the kick holder. At that point, it was, as they say, ON!! Helmets, suplexes, crutches....the on the field brawl got the crowd so hyped that fights started breaking out in the stands.

I whole mess of things fell out of this: suspensions, dismissals, apologies, a firing. But, IMO, it was the best scene at the OB since Brock Berlin crushed the Gators.

The holder isn't even touched until the brawl is well underway. The "cause", though something like this never has justification, was that the Miami player taunted after the touchdown by bowing to the FIU crowd.

Bologna, the holder was thrown to the ground as a couple of players were jawing back and forth. And the section of the crowd that Bryant bowed to was part of general admission, a mixed group of fans.

Look at the video, dude. The holder is walking away. He turns around and comes back because other players are fighting. He then gets thrown to the ground. The brawl was not started, as you claim, by a couple of FIU players deciding to beat down the holder.

What happened previous to the kicker being thrown to the ground was being allowed all game long. They talked smack and pushed each other but there were no punches thrown. Had it ended there, off setting penalties would have been the result. But at that point the refs had lost control of the game. You can clearly see on the video, the holder getting punched in the face and then kicked in the head by #24.

Incidently, the 2 guys who punched and kicked the holder were the only players from either team to be dismissed permantly, specifically for starting the melee as stated by their coach.
