Okay. How many of you guys first heard of Hyne when looking through a walkthrough?

Reading through the info section in the game?

being told by a random NPC in the game?

I ran into this by chance this afternoon; I forgot to get girl next door to give to zone, so I wandered back to the white SeeD ship to give him it, and I happened to go up to talk to the teacher white SeeD on the prow of the ship, and she was teaching the two kids there the Legend of Vascaroon.

Before, in playing, I had always assumed that Garden just knew about Hyne and stuff, and that's why it mysteriously showed up in your info center ingame. It was pretty wild to find out that 'hey, you mean they actually say this ingame?'

And it has about 50 hits on google. Hyne has 300k hits. I can only assume that most people never ran into this cutscene.

Pretty wild for a seven year old game.

I thought the teacher told that story to the kids for some moral lesson...although i can´t remember what was it.

Doesn't Zell's neighbours in Balamb tell the legend of Hyne? Except the latter part with Vascaroon.

i remember that scene. I didn't really get it that much but then i read it a few more times. Now i forgot what the story is at all :p

Vascaroon is either Laguna in the past or a relation of his. I'm not sure.

Err, the story of Vascaroon is only a legend for one, but since it deals with the creation of man, it's obviously a long long time ago, so why you think Laguna and Vascaroon are the same person is rather odd. There's also no reason to think they're close relatives.

Anyway, I first heard it on the White SeeD Ship, later in Tutorial, and finally saw it in Balamb on my second playthrough or something. An old guy there tells his granddaughter about Hyne's mysterious dissapearance (incidentally the basis for a lot of FE's theories...).

I found that the second time I went through, the first time I got to disc 3 and hadn't saved in the game at all untill the disc changes! So I simply re-did it and did it properly (I believe I was like level 35 and on disc 3 omg I was poor the first time through)

I'm on disk three and have edea at level 35? :D everyone else is less than 20(I"m abusing her at the great salt lake before moving on to abaddon and esthar. I wish so badly I had thought to pick up tonberry before coming here :()

Yeah, but it's more like an overview they give you.

I discovered it, i think it must of been my 3rd time playing 8.
