View Full Version : What do you like on your French Fries?

Cipher

So, here's an odd question. Some people only want salt on their french fries. I myself like to have Salt, Pepper, Ketchup and Hot Sauce on my fries. It was very popular when I was in High School, but when I moved here to CA, I get weird looks for ordering it. Their loss. :rolleyes2

What do you guys like?

French fries taste nice with anything on it as long as it's someone special that is eating with you.

Depends on the fry. Usually lots of salt and some pepper. I'll go for ketchup every now and then.

In-N-Out's animal-style fries ftw. <3 It's fries with their spread (basically Thousand Island Dressing), grilled onions, and cheese. I always cover my food with pepper. :D

I can't stand catsup/ketchup. It's so fake.

I can eat them plain, but they are best with ketchup. Then there's cheese fries, which are absolutely melt-in-your-mouth delicious with or without ketchup.

I can't eat fries with salt. :( Salt is bad for me anyway. So I like mine plain and with ketchup. Sometimes I like to add chili on top.

salt, occasionally a little pepper, and usually some sort of sauce. I basically see the french fry as a carrier for the ketchup/barbecue sauce/honey mustard (because it's SO much better than yellow mustard)/tartar sauce (only with fried fish though). sometimes I'll eat fries straight though, with no sauce.

Salt and Vinegar? Spewww that sounds bad. But I'm strangely compelled to try it. >.>

You've never had salt and vinegear ?

My answer is the same, salt and vinegear on chips is the best. Mayo or garlic sauce isnt bad either.

Honey mustard.

Fries do not belong in salt, mayo, or BBQ sauce.

Just salt if they're good fries. If they're not so good, catsup is in order. For seasoned fries, ranch please.

Do you mean chips? Or McDonald style fries? On chips I like salt and lots of vinegar and on fries, I put nothing on them - 'cause they already come with salt and oil and stuff.

It depends on the type of fry, and what I'm eating them with. Normally I'll eat them just with salt. Sometimes with ranch, sometimes with hot sauce, and sometimes with white gravy. MMM, I love fries.

Twilight Edge
10-20-2006, 01:13 PM
Add a packet of salt, then mix ketchup, chilli sause and barbeque sause all together and blend them along with the fries.

Had some Non-MacDonalds French-Fries with salt and vinegar today. It was.........meh. I mean, I'd have it again if I lacked hot sauce and pepper and ketchup, but it didn't completely bowl me over.

...My brother, on the other hand, won't shut up about it. :rolleyes2

Salt, ketchup and they have to be crispy. All the salt in the ocean and gallons of ketchup can't save soggy fries.

Mayonnaise, preferably garlic.

Spiffing Cheese
10-21-2006, 03:48 PM
If they're thin chips like from McDonalds, then just ketchup or barbeque sauce. Mayonnaise mixed together with ketchup on them is good too. And cheesy chips are one of the greatest inventions in the history of food. :p

If they're the fat, greasy, deep-fried, heart disease on a plate kind you get in fish 'n' chip shops, then just lots and lots and LOTS of vinegar.

I hate salt.
