What rules are there on your school/uni/work computers?
These are the computer rules for my school:
You may not add or alter any wallpapers or screensavers
You may not download or store any graphics or music files which are not directly related to school work. Any such files may only be stored if you have received prior permission from the relevant member(s) of staff.
You may not download, store or run any executable files which have not been provided by the school, this includes games.
You may not send, store, display or intentionally access any offensive, pornographic or illegal material.
You may not use any computer or communications service to harass, insult or bully other people (this includes mobile text messages).
You may not print any files which are not directly related to school work, and care should be taken to ensure effective use of limited printing resources.
You may not damage either the hardware or attempt to delete or modify the existing software.
You may not violate copyright laws.
You may no use any other users password or permit any user to use your password.
You may not damage, modify or attempt to access other users files or folders.
You may not use chat rooms or forums of any description.
You may only use authorised email services.
Pupils must always adhere to the published rules for the use of computer rooms at all times.
No unauthorised computer, personal organiser, mobile or data processing device may be connected to the school network by any means.
I think these get broken so often that they're a joke.
