Need Serious Help - Game Crashed

Hi so I recently purchased FFVII for the pc and I've come across a major problem. After the fight with Dyne in the Coral Prison I am brought back up to the Gold Saucer to race a chocobo. When I'm about the race the game crashes. Can someone please help me with this. I'm on a mission to complete with a perfect game and have put loads of effort into it already. Please someone point me in the right direction. Is there a patch I need? I don't think its my computer. It's only 2 months old and quite powerful games wise (I've played FFXI with problems).

I'm sure i've head this problem b4 but the only way i can help is to tell you to get a ps1 or ps2 and get the game on that

u need an XP patch it happens on all XP pc's. u can either download a patch for it (i dunno wer tho, google it!) or give one of us a copy of ur file and we'll do it for u.
