Only surefire solution is to wipe the computer and reinstall Windows, then make sure you don't get infected again by using a decent firewall, antivirus, decent web browser like Firefox or Opera, and possibly an adware scanner too :D

You could also try Symantec's ISTbar removal tool (http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/FxIstbar.exe) (more info plus instructions here (http://www.symantec.com/security_response/writeup.jsp?docid=2003-091913-2632-99&tabid=3)), but I would strongly recommend the first solution :p

I would suggest doing what cl_out proposed. It may or may not work.

Another option would to manually attack the problem by using a variety of tools, including HijackThis (http://www.thespykiller.co.uk/forum/index.php?PHPSESSID=e4b08bfafde7450984368117dedc1650&action=tpmod;dl=get5), Registar (http://www.resplendence.com/download/reglite.exe), or regedt32 (which you acces by using the Run command), and making sure your Java is up to date (http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp).

However, to use the secondary option, you will have to realize what the smurf you are doing, otherwise you may end up deleting some things permenently that you never wished to delete...

Also, to make sure future problems never rear their repugnant face, I would download a firewall (such as ZoneAlarm (http://www.download.com/3000-2092-10039884.html)), a good, respected anit-virus program (such as AVG (http://free.grisoft.com/freeweb.php/doc/2/)), another Spyware detector just for added security (such as eWido (http://free.grisoft.com/softw/70free/setup/avgas-setup-7.5.0.50.exe)) and you also may want to try using Spyware Blaster (http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html).

I highly reccomend Spyware Blaster - for the last two weeks, I have had absolutely no malware. It's a preventive program, not a remedy program. However, they say the best solution is the one that remedies the issue before it arises.

With munty's suggestion of changing your browser, you'll probably drop your rates significantly.
