Cameras and monitors whirled around a huge, flowery garden in the middle of the gigantic floating ship that made up the great city of Shevat. L stood on his platform, but no combatants had arrived yet.

"The next battle will be between Link and Cloud," he began.

As he spoke, two figures burst in from either side of the field.

One combatant was riding a horse at full gallop, a silver shield with a mirror sheen in one hand and a long sword that blazed in the sunlight raised high in the air. On his hands three golden triangles stacked upon each other were clearly visible, one of the triangles glowing with its own soft light. He wore a soft green tunic and a white hose, as well as a green cap that fluttered in the air like a pennon.

The revving of a motorcycle echoed throughout the battlefield, and young man with spikey blond hair, a trailing black half-cloak, black shirt, and black leather pants emerged on a sleek, black motorcycle. The motorcycle was open in the front, and four sword hilts protruded from it.

Both combatants circled the battlefield, before coming to a stop on either end.

"Link rides his horse, Epona, to this battle and Cloud rides his motorcycle, Fenrir," L said. "Begin."

Cloud drew a large sword from one of the motorcycle holsters, its blade open in two prongs with a steel bar connecting them. Raising his sword in his left hand and bracing his shield, Link spurred Epona onward as Cloud charged with his motorcycle. Extending his right arm, Cloud held his sword out in an attempt to clothesline Link and remove him from his horse.

Link raised his shield and brought his sword in low, holding it out under his right arm. As they passed each other, he twisted his shield, deflecting Cloud's sword upward and slashed outward with his sword.

The blade came within milimeters of Cloud's chest as he quickly twisted out of the way, guiding Fenrir away from Link.

As they parted, Link sheathed his sword with a fluid motion and withdrew a bow, seemingly from below his tunic although it was unsure how, exactly, he carried it.

Knocking an arrow from a quiver that seemed to appear on his back when he needed it, he drew a bead on Cloud as Cloud spun Fenrir around for another sweep. The arrow became sheathed in light, and when Link released it it arced through the air like a bolt of lightning, slamming into Fenrir's polished front shield and exploding, causing the motorcycle to waver precariously as Cloud moved to right it.

Drawing another arrow, Link fired again and this time Cloud brought his sword forward to protect the motorcycle. The arrow slammed into the huge blade and exploded, causing the motorcycle to waver a bit, but not as much.

As Link wheeled Epona around for a second charge, he put his bow away, which seemed to sink mysteriously into his tunic. From the same tunic he withdrew a massive sword, thinner than Cloud's sword but much longer, easily around 6 feet tall.

As he charged forward, he gripped the blade in both hands and swung it at Cloud, just as Cloud swung his own blade at him.

The swords clashed with great force, but the momentum caused them to slide apart without either combatant being unseated.

Sheathing his blade, Link reached into his tunic and withdrew a white, winged boomerang, which he hurled at Cloud.

The boomerange tore through the landscape, leaving a stream of poweful wind in its wake. Cloud turned just in time to have the boomerang slam into his chest and knocking him back, throwing off the balance of the motorcycle.

Link withdrew his bow and shot two more arrows of light at the motorcycle's tires, causing it to buck and jolt erratically.

Cloud twisted his body as the boomerang flew back to Link's hand and jumped off the motorcycle as it skidded to a stop on the ground.

Pulling on Epona's reins, Link also dismounted, putting away his boomerang and drawing his sword and shield once more.

Cloud opened up Fenrir, removing all of his swords and putting them together, fastening them until they made up one huge blade.

Gripping it in both hands, he charged forward as Link did the same.

Cloud swung his sword in a low arc, but a quick backflip by Link brought him easily over the blade's slash without suffering a scratch. Because his blade was so massive, Cloud couldn't halt the momentum as Link pressed an attack, thrusting forward with his sword.

Cloud leaned back as he attempted to recover his blade, but Link took another step forward and spun around, his sword extended.

A burst of magical energy flew from his blade and slammed into Cloud, knocking him backward.

Coughing and clutching his chest, Cloud gripped his blade and rose to his feet as Link slowly advanced on him.

Fixing Link with a blazing glare, Cloud slashed his sword outward just as Link brought his sword down in an open position and the form of the three triangles appeared behind him.

Cloud's sword split into several pieces, all of which surrounded Link. Gripping his sword, he rushed forward to slash at Link.

Link's own blade moved swiftly to intercept the attack, the triforce shining brightly behind him.

Several times Cloud dashed forward, slashing with one of his blades. Each time Link deflected it with his own slash.

With the final attack, Link took the offensive.

He and Cloud exchanged vicious slashes back and forth, their blades arcing and rebounding faster than the eye could follow. Using his shield, Link broke Cloud's guard and surged forward, slashing several successive times at Cloud's exposed chest before sending him flying with a well placed thrust. As he slashed, the triforce seemed to encircle Cloud, binding his body in place so that he could receive the full punishment of the attack.

Cloud skidded across the ground before laying still, blood pouring from several gaping wounds on his chest.

Link flicked the blood from his blade and sheathed it, wiping sweat from his brow.

"Link is the winner," L announced.

The next battle is between Dante and Illidan Stormrage. It will take place in the Tower of Babel. The fight will be posted on Saturday or Sunday.

Also, I will be holding other tournaments where people build original characters in between the game-centric ones. People can use their money to build characters.

The first tournament I'll be holding will be the Modern Fantasy tournament in Zaldyran. It'll be linked to when this thread becomes closed, and more information on character construction will be given when it's time for the tournament. The tournament will take place in the interim between the Hero brackets and the Villain brackets. The original character tournament after that will be the Fantasy tournament in Imara, after which I'll probably hold the Doubles Hero tournament. After that is the Mecha original tournament, Doubles Villain Bracket, and then back to Zaldyran. This is all contingent upon if people stay interested in it and keep betting, and it will happen over the course of several years at the rate these fights are getting posted.

Two figures stood attop a massive gray tower, with lightning flashing in the distance as two figures faced off.

One was a tall man with long, silver hair and a flowing red trenchcoat. He wore a black leather vest and black leather pants, with two large pistols protruding from a rear holster.

Over his shoulder was slung a huge, silver-bladed sword with a black, claw-like hilt, and both hands were covered in gauntlets that blazed with unholy flame.

The other figure was far more demonic than human. He had glowing green eyes and two massive, ram-like horns protruding from his head. His shirtless body was covered in muscular, purple flesh with intricate green runes along his shoulders, and he wore dark gray pants with fur adorning them. From his back grew two large, leather wings, also purple, which had unfurled themselves as if ready for flight.

In either brutally clawed hand he held two large crescent-shaped blades, their wicked edges extremely sharp.

"The next battle is between Dante and Illidan Stormrage," L said, leaning back against his seat. "Begin."

Bringing his sword to bear, Dante shot forward, delivering a quick, double-handed slash to Illidan's face.

Without the merest change in expression, Illidan lifted his left blade and intercepted the blow, slashing in low with his right blade.

As Illidan slashed, Dante pushed off with his blade, skidding across the ground. Sheathing his sword on his back, he drew his guns and unleashed a barrage of bullets at Illidan.

Illidan raised his blades, fanning them out like a shield and deflecting the bullets. Flipping his guns back into their holster, Dante drew his sword as Illidan seemed to blur, appearing behind him and unleashing a vicious right-handed slash to his back with the intent to sever Dante's spine.

Dante whirled around and intercepted the blow, but the force caused him to stagger backward, losing ground. Illidan snarled and fell flames burst to life around him, causing Dante to scream in pain as they spread around him. Without pausing, Illidan slashed with his left blade across Dante's chest. In pain from the flames, Dante jumped back, but not before receiving a gash to his chest that immediately began to ooze blood.

As Dante skidded to a halt, he closed his eyes and fell to his knees. An infernal aura enshrouded him as his skin began to ripple and bulge. As he stood, his appearance had shifted, and he now appeared as a black and red demonic creature that seethed with power. His body was lithe but muscular, and he had two red and black wings on his back. In his hands was still clenched his sword, which glowed with an unholy aura all its own.

Illidan chuckled, his voice rasping heavily, before unfurling his wings.

Dante did the same, and both combatants shot into the air, coming together with the clash of steel.

Dante slashed furiously with his blade, but Illidan blocked each stroke with a swift maneuver with his own massive blades. The aura of flames still enshrouded Illidan, and while Dante seemed to be taking less damage from it, it was obvious he was still feeling the damage.

Beating his wings, Dante moved to take the higher elevation. Illidan's arm crackled with energy and a bolt of blue light burst forth from him, striking Dante squarely in the chest.

Dante hissed as he felt his mystic energy drain and turn against him. As he teetered precariously in the air, Illidan surged forward, slashing him across the chest with a flyby attack before twirling in the air and pouncing on his unprotected back, blades extended.

Dante growled in pain as Illidan's blades bit into his back. Roaring, a ball of magma gathered in his hands. Grabbing it, he hurled it at Illidan, disoloding him and blasting him backward.

Beating his wings, Dante managed to regain enough velocity to avoid smashing into the ground.

Illidan recovered from the magma blast with a snarl. Folding his wings, he dove at Dante again, who this time hurled several bolts of lightning at him.

As the bolts hurtled towards him, Illidan seemed to blur in the air and dodge the attacks. However, the bolts circled back around, homing in on his position and slamming into his back, causing his wingbeats to falter and his body to begin to fall.

Growling, Illidan beat his wings, bringing himself aloft and hurling himself at Dante.

Dante swooped down to meet him, sword extended, and both combatants clashed with the sound of steel on steel.

Once again, fell flame burst forth from Illidan's body, covering him like a shroud. The flames licked Dante's body, causing him to again howl in pain. Seizing his advantage, Illidan arced his right blade around, slamming the flat, inner-end of the crescent into Dante's chest.

Twirling in midair, Illidan hurled Dante's body around with his blade and tossed him to the ground.

As Dante fell, he extended his wings, catching the wind and slowing his descent. However, this was in vain as Illidan dropped down like a feral beast, plunging both of his blades into Dante's back and pushing him to the ground.

Both landed on the tower in a cloud of dust, and the sound of stone buckling under their weight could be heard throughout.

As the dust cleared, Illidan rose to his feet over Dante's broken body, which had reverted to human form. He lay unconcious in a pile of stony rubble, unmoving.

"Illidan Stormrage is the winner," L said.

The next battle is between Albel Nox and Alucard from Castlevania. It will take place in Midgar. The fight will be posted on Friday or Saturday.

Two figures squared off within the ruined section of a massive city. Overhead a huge plate hovered ominously, obscuring all sunlight.

One was a young man with dark brown hair tipped with blond hair. He wore a purple loincloth and a purple piece of cloth covering his chest. His left arm was covered with a steel, clawed gauntlet and in his right hand he held a sheathed katana. He had a steel collar and neck guard, as well as purple, thigh-high boots and an arrogant expression on his face.

The other was a tall, pale man with long white hair. He wore black polished leather boots and a black cape, as well as a fine black suit and petticoat. In his right hand he carried a straight-bladed longsword, which he handled adeptly, much like a skilled fencer would.

"The next battle is between Albel Nox and Alucard," L said, his booth under an overhanging plate of steel. "Begin."

Gripping his katana's sheathe, Albel sprinted forward, grasping the katana's hilt tightly in his right hand. As he approached, he drew the blade, slashing it with ferocious force at Alucard.

Alucard nimbly danced to the side and thrust his blade at Albel, under his guard.

Albel punched forward with his gauntlet, knocking the blade aside with a hollow clang. Reversing his sword's angle, he slashed downward with his right hand, continuing with his forward momentum.

Alucard whipped his blade up into a defensive position, gripping it in both hands and blocking the downward stroke. Flames burst forth from his hands and errupted from them, forcing Albel to fall back and bring his katana to a defensive stance.

"Die, maggot!" Albel screamed as he raised his arm, unleashing a burst of magical energy in the form of a large disc.

Alucard dodged to the side and extended his left hand, unleashing a flaming spirit that hurled itself at Albel with a soul-chilling wail.

Albel's eyes narrowed as wind whipped around his sword. He slashed at the spirit, cleaving it in two and causing it to fall harmly to either side.

Alucard suddenly appeared from behind the falling flames. With stunning speed he thrust forward, piercing Albel's chest with his sword and driving him back.

Albel gasped in pain as the blade bit deeply into him. Gripping it with his gauntleted hand, he brought his sword back, preparing to strike at Alucard's neck.

Releasing his left hand from his sword, Alucard raised it and unleashed a burst of unholy flame that engulfed Albel.

Albel screamed, releasing his grip on the sword and allowing Alucard to draw it back out again. As the flames subsided, Albel staggered to the ground, propping himself up with his katana.

Alucard withdrew a white rag and ran it across his sword, removing the blood from it with a single swipe. Turning, he leveled his sword at Albel's neck.

"Do you yield?" he asked calmly.

"Go to hell!" Albel snarled.

Alucard raised his blade and brought the flat down on Albel's head. Albel grunted and staggered as Alucard stepped forward and brought the pommel down on his head. This caused Albel to crumple to the ground, unconcious.

"Alucard is the winner," L said.

Fei and Tidus stood inside a huge room with crystalline walls. The vaulted ceiling was cavernous, and crystal stalacites and stalagmites lined area.

"The first battle of the second round is between Fei and Tidus," L said as he slowly wrote something on a piece of paper, his hand holding the pen as if it were diseased. He wasn't even looking at the fight. "Begin."

Tidus hefted his sword and charged forward, moving swiftly through the cave and jumping over any crystal formations that got in his way.

"Haste!" he shouted, red light forming around him and speeding his legs even more.

Fei extended his hands, balls of glowing red energy forming in them. He began hurling them at Tidus, who dodged gracefully dodged to the side as he continued his charge. Several balls of energy slammed into the crystal, exploding on contact, but Tidus was simply too fast for them.

Leaping forward, Tidus ran his hand across his blade. A gout of flame burst from his hand and enshrouded the blade, which he then used to slash at Fei, the flames running down the blade in a chaotic swirl.

Fei leapt back, the flames briefly touching his skin and causing it to redden and blister at their heat.

Charging a ball of energy in both hands, he hurled it at Tidus, who blocked it with the flat of his sword.

"Thundaga!" Tidus yelled, extending his left hand.

A burst of lightning errupted from his palm and struck Fei square in the chest, blasting him backwards into a stalagmite, crushing it.

"Blizzaga!" Tidus yelled, this time causing a burst of ice to launch forth, completely enshrouding and freezing the area where Fei had fell.

Smirking, Tidus turned around and walked off. As he turned his back, the block of ice exploded and a humanoid figure leapt forward, his red mane of hair trailing behind him.

Id delivered a crushing blow to Tidus' back as his face began to contort in surprise from the sound of the explosion. The blow sent him flying forward, into another stalagmite.

Without stopping, Id bounded forward, his arms blazing with energy. As Tidus slowly rose to his feet from the wreakage, Id grabbed him by the back of his jacket and hurled him into the air. As Tidus went soaring, Id opened the hand he had thrown him with and unleashed a burst of raw ki energy, which slammed into Tidus' back and exploded. Bringing his right arm down and raising his left hand in a quick motion, he unleashed another energy burst, before leaping into the air behind it.

The second burst of energy exploded on Tidus' back, sundering his jacket and scattering it to the wind as bits of charred fabric. Before his body could fully convulse from the pain, Id grabbed his shoulder in midair. Spiralling in the air, he hurled Tidus downward.

Tidus landed with a resounding smash on the ground, crystal shattering under his body and leaving a significant crater. Id landed lightly on the ground and whirled around to face Tidus, who was lying broken and battered on the floor, unconcious and probably dying.

Id started charging forward again, but was interrupted by several probes flying at him and releasing a powerful electric shock, paralyzing him. As this happened, a large medic team arrived on the scene to collect Tidus and carry his broken body to the infirmary.

"Fei is the winner," L said without even looking up. It was unclear whether or not he'd watched any of the fight at all.

The next battle will be between Gandalf and Squall Leonhart. It will take place in Zeal Palace. The fight will be posted on Wednesday or Thursday. Again, those lacking significant funds are free to beg as they chose, in this thread only.

One of these days... one of these days you'll all bet horribly wrong. Just watch.

Gandalf and Squall stood inside of a huge circular room. In the middle, encased in beams of light, almost as if contained, was a huge machine. It's plates were gold, and it was vaguely humanoid in appearance, with eerily glowing green gems on its shoulder pads and lower torso. It had no visible legs nor arms.

"The next battle is between Gandalf and Squall Leonhart. Begin."

Squall drew his gunblade and charged at Gandalf, who raised his staff. Squall was blasted back by a powerful force, but he quickly recovered and skidded across the ground, firing two shots from his gunblade.

Gandalf tapped his staff on the ground and the bullets halted in midair, before turning and hurling themselves at Squall, who rolled to the side to avoid them.

Gandalf raised his hand and a wave of flame crept up from under Squall, whose eyes glowed red.

A huge, bestial creature appeared and wrapped its arms around him, absorbing the flame. It almost appeared as if the creature was enjoying the fire.

The creature slowly uncoiled itself from Squall and raised its arms, a blazing ball of fire gathering in its arms.

Gandalf smiled grimly and waved a hand. The ball collapsed upon itself and vanished. Raising his staff, Gandalf seemed to strike the beast, blasting it backwards into a wall where it dissolved.

Again, Squall's eyes lit up and a huge knight in black armor and carrying a curved sword appeared behind him.

Gandalf enshrouded Squall with a torrent of flame, one the horseman stood valiantly against for a moment, before rearing up in pain and dissolving. Unrelenting, Gandalf tightened the fire around Squall, who screamed in pain as the blaze burned his skin.

Gandalf kept the flames in place for several seconds, before dismissing them. By then, Squall had already lost conciousness. His hair, flesh, and clothing were all badly burned, and he did not appear to be in good shape.

"Gandalf is the winner," L said as Squall was carried off to the infirmary.

The next battle will be between Samus Aran and Kurosaki Ichigo. It will take place in Hyrule. The fight will be posted on Friday or Saturday.

Ichigo has to be from a game, doesn't he? I thought the GTR was supposed to be a revival of the tournament previously featured in GenGaming. Even if it isn't, Ichigo being from a game would make more sense given where this thread is located.

He originates from manga/anime, though, just like Gandalf originates from the books/movies. Also, Yomiko Readman (1st round eliminated, my personal nomination for this tourny) hasn't been in any videogames. The criteria for characters this time around was that they could be from any video game or anime. They often overlap.

Lightning crackled in the distance as Samus and Ichigo faced off with a huge, blackened castle suspended over a pool of lava behind them.

"The next battle is between Samus Aran and Kurosaki Ichigo," L said, as he slowly munched on a chocolate-covered stick of bread. "Begin."

Ichigo removed his sword from his back, the bandages swirling around it and shrinking to a more manageable size.

Samus pointed her gun-arm at Ichigo and launched a missile at him.

As the missile streaked towards him, Ichigo slashed at it with his sword, chopping it in half. The missle split and exploded harmlessly behind him.

A ball of crackling energy flew from Samus' gun arm.

"Whoa!" Ichigo screamed, barely dodging.

Samus quickly followed through with a charging punch attack. It slammed into Ichigo's chest and sent him skidding across the ground.

Ichigo planted his feet into the ground, bringing them to a halt. Gripping his sword, he slashed at Samus, who leapt back and dodged out of the way, curling up into a tightly compact ball to make herself a small target.

Landing on the ground several yards away from Ichigo, she launched two more missiles that homed onto his position.

"GETSUGA TENSHOU!" Ichigo roared, unleashing a shockwave of blue, crescent-shaped energy at the missles.

The missiles exploded in midair as the wave passed through them and slammed into Samus, who had been unable to dodge and braced herself for impact.

The shockwave dragged her along the the ground before slamming into her chestplate and dissipating, causing sparks to fly from it.

Ichigo seemed to vanish and appeared behind Samus, who whirled around and attempted to slam her gun arm into his chest.

Ichigo caught the arm with his blade. Gripping it firmly, he brought the blade around in a circular arc, cleaving the gun in half.

As he arced the blade around, he brought its tip to Samus' neck. Samus raised her arms in surrender, the gun sparking with static.

"Ichigo is the winner," L said.

The next battle will be between Auron and Alucard from Hellsing. It will take place in Zanzibar. The fight will be posted on Monday or Tuesday.

Auron and Alucard stepped onto a beach crowded with debris. Behind them was a huge steel edifice rising out of the ground, much of it appearing rusty, damaged, and in general disrepair.

"The next fight is between Auron and Alucard," L said. "Begin."

Auron hefted his sword and slowly advanced on Alucard, who drew his gun and aimed it at him, his arm steady.

Both opponents circled each other warily for several moments, neither making a move. A twitch in Alucard's undead muscles was enough to have Auron immediately bring his blade forward, blocking his body with it's girth.

Alucard fired a shot that slammed into the blade, knocking Auron back in the sand several inches. His feet remaining planted, Auron removed the jug of sake from his belt and took a swig.

Spitting some on the blade, he raised it as dark energy coalesced around it.

"BANISHING BLADE!" he shouted as several balls of dark energy flew from it and slammed into Alucard, tearing through his bodies and leaving large bleeding holes.

"Not bad," Alucard said with a chuckle, as his body began to regenerate.

Without missing a beat Auron rushed forward, slicing through Alucard's chest and cutting him in half.

Alucard's entire body began to dissolve into blood.

Pointing at the puddle of blood, Auron raised his arm.

"HOLY!" He shouted, globes of white magic appearing and spiralling around Alucard.

The blood began to reform as beams of white light shot from them, blasting through the puddle of blood and returning it to a near inert state.

The blood dissolved into a swarm of bats, which quickly reformed into Alucard, who was clutching his arm and hissing.

"Curaja!" Auron yelled, a warm holy light enveloping Alucard and causing him to howl in pain, his body again beginning to dissolve.

"You little wretch!" he hissed as Auron brought his hand across his blade, casting Curaja upon it.

"I may not be able to win this," Auron says. "But this is my story and I'll be damned if I'm going down without a fight!"

Auron delivered a swift slash to Alucard's dissolving body, causing it to explode into blood.

The blood dissolved into bats and the area seemed to tremble with Alucard's rage.

Auron was blasted backwards by a powerful telekinetic thrust as Alucard appeared again, clutching his gloved right hand in his left hand.

His gauntlet seemed to glow as the runic circle flared to life, and Alucard disappeared in a wave of red, soon to be replaced by a moustached man with graying hair wearing medieval body armor and carrying a longsword. With a howl, he charged at Auron who brought his sword to bear, another curative spell on his lips.

Alucard thrust his sword at Auron, driving it deep into his chest with blinding speed and strength. Without stopping, Alucard pushed Auron into the massive rotating steel wheel, his body crumpling several steel plates on impact.

Withdrawing his sword, Alucard raised his other hand, flinging Auron back further. Auron blasted through the wheel and rammed into a piece of debris. Raising his arms, Alucard wrenched the wheel from its place and hurled it downward, crushing Auron under it.

Auron did not emerge, but a stream of pyreflies did in his place as they slowly flew towards the heavens and dissolved.

"Alucard is the winner," L said nonchalantly.

The next battle will be between Drizzt Do'Urden and Master Chief. It will take place in Toadstool's Castle. The fight will be posted on Friday or Saturday.

Gandalf the Grey was mortal. Gandalf the White is as mortal as a vampire that immune to sunlight. If you managed to destroy his body to the point where he couldn't regenerate alone (at which point the gods themselves would more then likely step in, just as they did when he defeated the Balrog {which was a Maiar itself, by the way}), he would still be present in Spirit. And let me tell you, his spirit is stronger then Alucard's entire being. Want to question me on that?

10 times a human's strength? Gandalf is demi-god. Like hercules, but a whole damn lot smarter. I won't continue to argue this, but Gandalf is a Maiar. Like Sauron when he has his Ring. When Sauron was struck down by the broken blade, it was -only- because he was still weakened by the attack on him in Dol Guldur (which, by the way, happened to be given to him by Gandalf himself). And that happened quite a time before this battle.

Gandalf may look like an old man, and he may not act all that powerful, but he is moreso then Sauron himself. Plus, he has Gwaihir on his side. When you have eagles the size of busses on your side, it's hard to... loose. Can he be struck down? Yes. But not easily. At all.

No, you have never seen the true potential of Gandalf. He has never had to show it, really. But know this: if not for him, Sauron would have overthrown the last alliance and Arda as we know today would be completely corrupted.

So, yeah, Gandalf is wise, strong, and one of the greatest beings in Middle Earth, save the gods themselves.

I know what power Gandalf has - I've read a lot of the books by Tolkien. But it doens't change the fact that Alucard wouldn't be capable of dying whereas Gandalf is. In a sunny field of flowers with a huge white-stoned castle with towering red spires, two figures faced off.

"The next fight is between Drizzt Do'Urden and Master Chief," L said as he removed one of many donuts from a skewer and slowly began to eat it. "Begin."

Drizzt took off with a flash, his right scimitar glimmering ominously.

Knowing that many of his guns would be useless against Drizzt's speed, Master Chief had come equipped with two Machine guns and was carrying a strange handle-like device on his back. As Drizzt approached, he unleashed a salvo of gunfire.

Drizzt moved swiftly, his cloak twirling about his body. His graceful movements were like that of a dancer, and no bullet touched him as his body.

As he moved, black mist seemed to form near him and Guenhwyvar emerged with a roar. Knowing her master's mind, she immediately took off at a run , circling around Master Chief, who had split his guns and was now firing at both of them.

As Master Chief's guns began clicking, signifying the lack of ammunition, Drizzt pounced.

Dropping his guns, Master Chief drew forth his other weapon, bringing a blade of pure energy forth. He brought his blade out to block Drizzt's first attack, the blade clashing with Drizzt's magical blades and locking together.

Drizzt came in low with his left scimitar causing Master Chief to back away. Master Chief whirled quickly and thrust his blade deeply into Guenhwyvar's chest just as the mighty panther leapt at him. Guenhwyvar roared in pain and exploded into black mist.

Master Chief whirled quickly, just in time to see Drizzt's glowing magical blade pierce his shield and sink deeply into his ribcage.

Master Chief grunted and attempted to thrust his energy blade at Drizzt, but Drizzt slapped it aside with ease.

As the blade dug deeply into him, Master Chief seemed to gasp in pain, before falling to his knees and dropping his sword. As it fell, the energy of the blade went dim, before becoming entirely inert.

"Drizzt is the winner," L said.

The next battle will be between Overlord Laharl and Cecil Harvey. It will take place in Hellsing Headquarters. The fight will be posted on Monday or Tuesday.

Outside the Hellsing compound, two figures stepped into the light.

"The next battle is between Overlord Laharl and Cecil Harvey," L said as he removed a phone from his pocket. "Begin." This taken care of, L answered the phone, holding it gingerly away from his ear and started talking about someone named "Kira".

"A Paladin, eh?" Laharl said as both of them drew their swords. Cecil's blade glowed brightly in the light, whereas Laharls seemed forged of the darkness.

"This should be fun! Let's go!"

Cecil's expression was composed and calm as Laharl shot forward, his cloak flapping around him wildly.

Cecil punched forward with his shield, which glowed with radiant crystalline light as it connected with the sword. As they connected, Cecil was pushed back several feet from the force of Laharl's charge, his armored feet digging large ditches into the ground.

Gritting his teeth, Cecil thrust forward with his blade, causing Laharl to skip backwards to avoid the blow. The sword trailed potent holy energy as it passed through the air, energy that Laharl didn't look pleased to see.

Laharl raised his arms and blazing balls of energy appeared around Cecil.

"Die!" he shouted, crossing his arms. The balls converged on Cecil, exploding. Cecil's body was flung backwards, but he righted himself and recovered, breathing heavily.

He had an open gash on his face that was bleeding profusely, and he looked fairly wounded. Placing his shield arm to his chest, white energy spread around him, the bleeding on his face stopping.

Not giving him a chance to recover, Laharl shot forward, his hand enveloped in dark energy. Cecil threw his shield up to block the attack, and Laharl's fist slammed into it with a resounding crash, the energy exploding and throwing Cecil backwards, into the compound's wall.

A large crater appeared on the wall as Cecil smashed into it. His body was suspended there for just a moment before Laharl came in again, his fist once again enveloped in dark energy.

This second punch sent Cecil through the wall and skidding along the path, knocking him a good ten yards away. As he came to a stop, he lay on the ground, his wounds reopened and his face pale.

L counted to ten on his fingers before gesturing for the medic crew to take Cecil away, still talking on his phone.

The next battle will be between Majin Etna and Link. It will take place in The Shinra Mansion. The fight will be posted on Thursday or Friday.

Inside the massive courtyard of the Shinra mansion, two figures stepped into the light.

"The next battle is between Link and Majin Etna. Begin," L said, a portable TV on and a Playstation 2 controller in his hands.

"Begin."

Link held the Master Sword in his hand cautiously as he circled around Etna.

Etna sized him up, before yawning. Her wings extended and she leapt into the air, on top of the mansion. Reclining, she pulled a megaphone out and shouted into it.

"Prinny team! Come on!"

Reclining, she looked around curiously for a moment. Taking her spear in hand, she held it in front of her, and her voice dropped several octaves as it dripped with malice.

"You're all pretty gutsy to defy me," she said.

"YOU CALLED ETNA-SAMA!?"

A mass of blue penguins with pouches strapped to their bellies stormed onto the scene on the other side of Link, who was staring at them with a shocked expression, as if he wasn't quite sure what to make of them.

"All right fairy boy," Etna said. "You beat my prinnies up and then I'll fight you."

Link looked up at Etna, before nodding. Tilting his head slightly, he whispered something to a blue fairy that was hovering over his shoulder, bobbing around excitedly. The fairy bobbed again and flew off.

"Oh, and prinnies," Etna said. "If you don't beat him I'll hunt you all down and kill you all."

The prinnies all stopped dead in their tracks, sweat pouring down their leathery bodies.

Link looked up at Etna, surprised, as the prinnies looked fearfully at each other.

"Come on, doods! It's only one man!" one of them screamed as they all charged at him, each one holding two daggers, one in each flipper.

Link grit his teeth as the prinnies came at him, bringing his sword back. As the descended upon him, he spun around in a vicious arc, energy bursting from his blade and blasting several prinnies skyward. The prinnies landed several yards away from him in all directions, exploding when they hit the ground.

Without skipping a beat, Link charged forward, cutting down more prinnies as he went. As they started to converge on him, he jumped into the air and unleashed a vertical spinning slash on one of the prinny's heads before vaulting over them and onto the other side of the quickly dwindling army.

Sheathing his sword and throwing his shield on his back, Link drew a massive ball and chain from somewhere within his tunic. Swinging it around, he swung it widely, knocking the remaining prinnies across the courtyard. With screams of "dood!" the prinnies slammed into the ground, exploding and leaving craters everywhere.

Etna looked at Link, suddenly a bit more interested. Extending her wings, she jumped down, hefting her spear.

"Not bad," she said.

"Hey!" the fairy said. "She doesn't seem to have any weakpoints!"

Etna looked up at the fairy buzzing around her in annoyance, before swatting it aside with the flat of her spear. The fairy went flying several feet, before landing in a prinny-crater.

"Anyway, let's go!" she said, moving as a blur as she charged forward, spear extended.

Link threw his shield forward, it's mirror finish shining brightly in even the dim light. As Etna's spear hit, he twisted his shield slighty, causing it to be thrown to the side. Moving forward and throwing his weight behind it, he thrust at Etna, who dodged to the side and swung her spear around.

Link's shield helped to dull the impact, but the force of the blow still caused him to slide across the ground for several inches.

Link jumped to the side and sheathed his blade. Flipping backwards, he drew a bow from somewhere in his tunic and knocked an arrow, brilliant light bursting forth from it.

"Crap!" Etna said as Link loosed the arrow. Unable to dodge, Etna shifted her body so that the arrow slammed into her shoulder. Gritting her teeth, she slid along the ground before coming to a stop, obviously in pain.

"Damn it," she said. "That hurt!"

Another arrow launched itself at Etna, trailing light behind it. This time, Etna spun her spear in front of her, breaking the arrow in mid-flight and casting it aside.

As she stopped spinning the spear, Link came in quickly with his sword, thrusting it at Etna.

Etna skipped back as he slashed at her, keeping up the tempo and not allowing any opening. With her attention focused on his sword, Etna was suddenly surprised by a shield that came seemingly out of nowhere and struck her in the face.

Etna was even more surprised as a sword sliced through the air, nearly slicing her head open. Quickly, she dodged to the side, but it opened a hefty gash on her shoulder in the process.

"OK I've just about had it with you," she said angrily. Spinning her spear, she created a massive whirlwind around her.

Link crouched down and quickly slipped a pair of iron boots out of his tunic. Donning them, he began to slowly walk towards Etna, the wind not affecting him as much but the boots slowing him down.

Etna jumped high into the air as he slashed at her, aiming her spear downward. Energy gathered at its tip, which she unleashed in a massive beam of force that hurled itself downward.

While she ascended, Link quickly changed out of his boots, the iron boots vanishing into his tunic. Link dove out of the way of the beam, but it still managed to hit his legs as he rolled away. Coming up, he seemed to limp to his feet as his legs refused to move as he wanted them to.

As Etna fell to the ground, she unfurled her wings and spun around, large balls of plasma whirling out around her.

As Link tried to move away, the plasma began descending upon him. Link managed to block two with his shield, but the other four managed to batter him around by attacking his unprotected back and his chest as he cringed in pain from the prior attacks.

As Etna raised her arms, a huge ball of flame sprang to life. Hefting it, she tossed it onto Link as he was dazed from his prior beating. The ball slammed into him, crushing him to the ground and exploding.

As the smoke from the explosion cleared, Link's form could be seen. He was kneeling and breathing heavily, leaning heavily on his sword which he had stuck in the ground.

As Etna lightly landed on the ground, Link pitched forward, unconcious.

The next battle will be between Alucard (Castlevania) and Illidan Stormrage. It will take place in Thasmasa. The fight will be posted on Tuesday or Wednesday. Those who are out of funds may, of course, beg others.

Two figures stood on the rooftops of the small village. It was dark, with rain streaming down from the clouded sky. In the distance, lightning crackled and flashed, and both figures were hard to see.

Sitting on his now-covered platform slowly eating a bowl of vanilla ice cream with candy sprinkled over it, L leaned over his microphone.

"The next battle is between Alucard and Illidan Stormrage. Begin."

Lightning flashed as both combatants dashed forward. Alucard drew his rapier with a flourish as Illidan took to the sky, unfurling his leathery wings to their full length as he leapt into the air.

Swinging his blade in an intricate pattern, Alucard thrust into the air. Several specters seemingly composed of blue flame leapt forth from his blade and shot themselves through the air.

With a contemptuous snarl, Illidan raised one of his arms, his blade still in hand. A bolt of pure eldritch energy formed around it, which he hurled at the oncoming specters. The bolt exploded, causing the specters to disintegrate into whisps of blue flame.

Flapping his wings, Illidan dove at Alucard, who shifted into the form of a wolf and leapt off the building.

Not even trying to slow his momentum, Illidan smashed into the building, cleaving it apart with his blades as he tore through it. The building buckled as he tore through the front door, just in time to see Alucard land lightly on the ground and revert to human form, sword drawn.

Illidan was sheathed in hellish flame, and the fires danced and sizzled in the rain. As his smouldering eyes met with Alucards, Alucard's face grew grim. Clutching his blade tightly, he charged, several more specters dancing around him.

Alucard thrust his blade forward at Illidan, but Illidan's body seemed to shift, almost as if it moved of its own accord to avoid the blow. With a feral grin, Illidan stepped forward and punched his blade forward, taking Alucard square in the chest with a blow that would have cloven most mortal men in twain. As he attacked, a bolt of eldritch energy exploded from the tip of his blade, again disintegrating the assembled specters around Alucard.

Alucard flew backward, a massive bleeding gash in his chest. He hit the ground hard, but Illidan was already charging forward once more, his blades positioned to rend Alucard apart.

Illidan's charge was stopped by a net of force, which restrained him as a medic team arrived on the scene to remove Alucard.

"Illidan Stormrage is the winner," L said.

Inside the massive caverns of Mithral Hall, where streams of silver flowed freely, two figures stood at either end.

"The next battle is between Gandalf the White and Fei Fong Wong," L said as he ate a melon slice covered in strips of bacon. "Begin."

Fei appeared a bit different, this time wearing an armband that seemed to have a faint light glowing on it. At the signal, he gathered a pulsing ball of ki energy in his hand, releasing it at Gandalf.

Gandalf flicked his hand and the ball was cast to the side, where it exploded harmlessly.

Fei's eyes narrowed in concentration as he fired several more shots, which again Gandalf deflected with ease.

Raising his staff, Gandalf pulled a large, liquified blob of the mithral flowing through the underground streams. Splitting it up, he magically forged it into hardened needles with intense fire magic. Flicking his wrist, he hurled the needles at Fei, the needles moving at intense speeds.

Fei swore and touched the glowing point on his wristband. A burst of energy surged out from him and the image of Id appeared superimposed upon his own body. Closing his eyes, he raised his right arm and unleashed a concussive blast of ki energy. The needles slammed into it and were vaporized by the force.

Gandalf's face registered surprise as Fei charged forward, Id's form still appearing on his own. Drawing his sword, Gandalf intercepted a swift punch with the flat of the blade. The force of the blow caused Gandalf to slide back, although he quickly halted his momentum with a telekinetic blast in the opposite direction. Pointing his staff at Fei, he unleashed a gout of flame which Fei easily twisted out of the way to dodge. Moving as a blur, he appeared behind Gandalf, who whirled and threw a telekinetic blast at Fei.

Fei seemed to flinch, but kept coming, delivering forceful blow to Gandalf's stomach.

At the last possible moment, Gandalf intercepted the blow with a telekinetic thrust in the opposite direction of Fei's fist, relieving it of a lot of force but still causing him to double over and spit blood from the pain.

Flames burst forth from the ground around Gandalf, forcing Fei to jump back and out of the way. The flames scorched the ground as they expanded outward in an intense ball of flame. Fei threw his hands in front of him to block, ki energy flowing out from him to prevent the damage.

The flames were intense. The ki energy began to waver, and the bracelet Fei wore seemed to dissolve.

Fei looked suddenly concerned, but the moment the bracelet dissolved from the flame ki energy exploded around Fei.

Gandalf whirled around and crossed his sword and staff as Id appeared behind him in full glory, punching ferociously at where Gandalf's back had been mere moments before.

Id broke off, his eyes glowing with a fierce joy.

"Weltal, come to me!" he shouted.

A low roar that slowly intensified could be heard echoing through the tunnels. A massive robot burst into view, its form humanoid and its armor plates blood red. From behind massive verniers propelled it forward. Id leapt into the air, the cockpit on the chest opening. As he entered the cockpit, the armor plate shut and the huge robot assumed a standing position.

Weltal was huge, perhaps sixteen meters in height. It dwarfed Gandalf, who stood on the ground gazing up at it impassively.

The cry of an eagle pierced the cavern as a massive bird flew into view. As it moved towards Gandalf, Weltal stepped forward. Id laughed cruelly as Weltal's fist closed around the bird.

"NO!" Gandalf shouted, throwing a powerful magical blast at the gear's arm.

The gear's arm seemed to flinch, but it's grip grew even tighter. The sickening sound of snapping bones echoed through the arena as Weltal crushed the eagle in its fist. Opening its hand, it dropped all that remained, a tangle of bloody feathers and twisted, broken bones.

Eyes blazing furiously, Gandalf raised his hands and summoned forth a torrent of flame that struck Weltal dead on.

Weltal stood motionless as it was assaulted, dark energy gathering around its form. The energy coalesced around Weltal's fist, augmenting it. Raising its fist, it was brought crashing down upon Gandalf.

Gandalf threw up an intense magical force, but the crushing power of the gear named "Slayer of God" was too much for him to handle. The fist smashed into his body, bringing him to the ground and snapping several of his ribs. It was only through the work of many restraints that Gandalf was saved from being crushed under the force of the gear's fist.

"Fei Fong Wong is the winner," L said.

The next fight will be between Alucard and Kurosaki Ichigo. It will take place in Athens. The fight will be posted either Wednesday or Thursday. Those eliminated may beg for money from other contestants.

Amidst the flaming wreckage of the once noble city of Athens, two figures faced off atop a shattered building, columns lying everywhere.

From his platform, L was holding a small white device with two screens. He seemed to be playing a game, and the words "Death Note" appeared on one of the screens as he flicked his fingers across the control pad and the buttons.

"The next battle is between Alucard and Kurosaki Ichigo. Begin."

Ichigo drew his zanpakutou, the bandages coiling around it as Alucard drew his gun and fired several rounds.

Bringing his sword to bear, Ichigo shielded his torso with it. Alucard's bullets ricocheted off the blade, barely even knocking Ichigo backwards.

"Getsuga Tenshou!" Ichigo screamed, slashing his blade downward and releasing a huge burst of energy.

Alucard seemed to vanish, dodging out of the way of the with ease. Ichigo suddenly whirled around, his blade intercepting a bare-handed attack from Alucard.

"Not fast enough!" Ichigo hissed as he pushed him away with his blade.

"You're a lot stronger than a normal human," Alucard said, withdrawing slightly. "I don't think I can hold back as much."

Grasping his glove, Alucard's eyes took on a feral appearance as he began to melt into an amorphous blob of staring eyes.

"Getsuga Tenshou!"

Another burst of energy surged forward from Ichigo, but the blo of eyes melted away and continued to advance.

Ichigo rushed forward, seeming to appear and disappear as he advanced on Alucard. As he ran by, he swung his sword ferociously at Alucard as he passed by. Huge fangs reached out and grabbed at him, some sinking into his arm and pulling out chunks of skin.

Ichigo screamed and seemed to vanish, appearing on the other side as the blob continued forward. It was moving with unnatural speed, causing Ichigo to again "jump" to get out of the way.

The bandages from his blade extending and coiling around his arm, Ichigo quickly bit them off as he ran from the blob, creating a makeshift binding for it.

Stop running, little boy, Alucard's voice said, echoing throughout the area.

Ichigo stopped, sliding across the ground and turning to face Alucard.

An aura of blue energy began to gather around Ichigo, causing even Alucard to flinch back.

Gripping his blade in both arms, Ichigo extended it outward, the bandages coiling around his right arm.

"BAN... KAI!"

The energy around Ichigo exploded, kicking up a massive dust storm. As it cleared, Ichigo stood wearing a black trenchcoat and carrying a black katana.

As the blob that was Alucard advanced, Ichigo seemed to disappear. Several flashes appeared in the air, and pieces of Alucard were neatly slashed off. Alucard seemed to roar in pain at each hit while Ichigo circled him, moving impossibly fast and cutting more and more chunks away from his body.

The blob seemed to coalesce before returning to what appeared to be a severely battered Alucard.

Alucard hissed as his body knit itself back together. Clasping his glove, he affixed Ichigo with a glare, telekinetic force pushing Ichigo back slightly, and halting his momentum.

The circle on his glove sparked, and Alucard's form changed, once again returning to the aged man in armor and wielding a longsword.

Ichigo surged forward, but Alucard blocked his zanpakutou blade with ease, parrying it and dashing it aside. As Ichigo was thrown off balance, Alucard raised his hand and blasted Ichigo backwards, smashing him into a huge pillar.

Ichigo rose, his eyes flashing with an eerie yellow light.

"GETSUGA TENSHOU!" he shouted, a burst of black energy erupting from his blade and hurling itself at Alucard. Alucard raised his sword and the energy slammed into it. His eyes flashing, Alucard split the attack and charged forward, thrusting his blade into Ichigo's chest.

Ichigo gasped and coughed blood. As Alucard withdrew the blade, Ichigo pitched face-forward and fell to the ground.

As Alucard turned, L drew himself up, as if about to say something. However, Ichigo's body began to rise.

"That... hurt..." a much higher, far more maniacal voice said.

Alucard turned slowly as Ichigo got to his feet. Covering half of his face was a white mask with three red stripes running across the head. His eyes were absolutely black, save for the yellow iris, and his mouth was twisted in a maniacal grin, one that was mimicked by the mask's teeth.

"Who are you?" Alucard asked, bringing his sword into a battle-ready stance.

"Me? I don't have a name!"

The creature surged forward, impossibly fast, swinging his blade in a wide arc. Alucard's expression grew grim as he blocked the blade. The creature continued with its ferocious assault, battering at Alucard's defenses and forcing him backwards.

Alucard's eyes narrowed as he unleashed a full-force telekinetic blast at the creature, but it simply laughed and continued to push forward.

"Weak! Too weak!" it screamed, bringing its blade down and unleashing a black energy wave.

Unlike the first one, this slammed into Alucard's sword and broke through, slicing him cleanly through the center and chopping his body in half.

As his body began to dissipate into blood to restore itself, the creature began firing more of the shockwaves as fast as it could. Each blast sliced another of Alucard's body parts clean off, throwing them across the city as they all dissolved into blood.

Soon, Alucard's entire form had dissipated into blood, but the creature continued to attack, more and more energy slicing through the blood until it finally remained more or less inert.

As the creature drew itself up to resume attacking, its right hand shot up.

"Damn it! Leave me alone!" Ichigo's voice yelled.

"No! You're too weak! I won't go!" the creature shouted, sounding almost akin to a child.

Ichigo screamed with rage and yanked the mask off, which shattered and disintegrated. Turning, he glared at the pools of blood, which were slowly crawling across the field in order to reconstruct themselves. L began counting, but after a ten-count the blood was still nowhere near rejoining.

"Kurosaki Ichigo is the winner," L declared. Ichigo, however, looked more troubled than anything else.

The next fight will be between Drizzt Do'Urden and Overlord Laharl. It will take place in Eggman's Laboratory. The fight will be posted either Saturday or Sunday.
