Is there any way to change my party once on the forgotten continent? I thought the anti-magic barrier was a plot device, but it's not. My party is Zidane, Vivi, Eiko, Steiner (I almost brought Garnet, and not Steiner!!!!). And, I'm kinda stuck anyway.

sorry theres no way to change it unless you have another saved game not to far back but with the right abilitys you should be able to get through it with that party

The others are trapped in with Kuja remember? So no.

So if your characters are too weak, you could always just level them up. There's an Item Shop in the airship that dropped you off. Luckily you brought Steiner. :p

Ohhh... I've never taken Eiko... I wonder who will lead the party at desert palace? Anyhow, you can't change it, like the others said...

That's what I always wondered, but I feared not to try because the anti-magic barrier, so Eiko would be useless there. I usually take Zidane, Amarant, Quina, and Freya if not Freya then Steiner. The only reason I bring Quina is that she can learn at least 4 blue magics while on that continent. Her ATK's not that bad either.

Vivi/Eiko can be there for healing which Amarant/Garnet could have been used for too.

lol. I wanted a challenge so my party WAS incidently Zidane, Garnet, Vivi, Eiko, also because the idea of their lives being in Kuja's hands kinda scares me.

>.>

<.<

But fighting through that isn't too hard. Trust me, one fighter plow through is alright in Oelivert.

On my first playthjrough, I took Zidane, Steiner, Amarant and Eiko. Then I realised that Eiko can't heal me in there and wasted a damn trance when fighting Ark, I changed on later ones.

Now, I always bring Zidane, Amarant, Freya and Quina. I leave Steiner with Vivi so he can use the uber powerful maigc swort combo.

i like it when you have to control two partys becuase they get split up or stuff like that i think it makes the game more interesting

I took Amarant Zidane Freya and Steiner. No matter who you take to go to Oelivert make sure once you get there save when you talk to the moogle by the enterance and go back outside and level up like crazy. The enemys give lots of exp and lots of Gil so you can get strong and buy all the primo stuff that the moogle has. Make sure to stock up on soft and hi-pots whenever you go back inside to save and you can level up like 10-15 times depending on what level you are when you got there.

Be happy it wasn't Zidane, Vivi, Eiko AND Garnet, like I took. :eep:

Basically I used the useless three to keep Zidane alive until he reached trance. Two or three trances later and victory was mine! :D

If you brought Eiko then you should be alright regardless.

none of the characters are useless, you just prefer the fighters to magic users:) alls it requires is a little training and they will be as good as your main four:D

I think I took Zidane, Freya/Steiner (I can't remember which), Amarant and Eiko to Oeilvert. Eiko was actually useful for healing on my way to Oeilvert, and I did most of my leveling up in the area just before Oeilvert, so I could save items by having Eiko heal the party.

Not really. I just got passed that part and I had Zidane, Vivi, Garnet, and Aramant.

Did you keep an earlier save? Steiner and Vivi are far more useful left back in the Desert Palace, especially since Dagger is practically useless at this point in the game. My parties of choice:

Oeilvert- Zidane, Quina, Freya, Amarant

Desert Palace- Steiner, Vivi, Eiko, Dagger

I always liked this party:

Zidane - Attack / Steal
Freya - Jump / Rei's Wind
Quina - Attack / Earth Shake / White Wind
Steiner - Attack

Magic attacks are very effective for training outside of the castle itself. :)
Ogres give lots of EXP.

I had Zidane, Freya, Steiner, and Eiko. Eiko healed me on the way there, and in Oeilevet, I replaced her magic with items.

Quina is great for that part, especially if you have been working on its skills.
