Cheney endorses water boarding, and states the Administration opinion that such behavior is permissible under the terms of the recent anti-terrorism legislation - an opinion at odds with the stated intent of the folk who drafted the legislation. He also continues to praise the practice as valuable and useful, despite consensus expert opinion - including that of the current Pentagon - that such techniques do not produce reliable intelligence data.

I guess we can look forward to lots of people being water-boarded as they are detained without habeus corpus.

So, if making a person partially drown doesn't qualify as torture, what exactly do you think might qualify to Cheney and this vile Administration?

And, since every expert on interrogation and torture agrees that this sort of thing doesn't really produce good results, why do you think our Administration is so attached to the idea of being able to treat people this way? Do you think Cheney gets turned on thinking about people being waterboarded and interrogated? Or do you think he needs to watch Nazi porn while choking puppies in order to get off.

"Would you agree a dunk in water is a no-brainer if it can save lives?" Hennen asked.

"Well, it's a no-brainer for me, but for a while there I was criticized as being the vice president for torture," Cheney said. "We don't torture. That's not what we're involved in."
The whole context of the sentences. Way to abuse the media ro promote your own purposes MSNBC.

That is sick. And yet, it would be hilarious.

He shot somebody in the face. What more proof do you need?

And got them to apologise to him. How powerful do you have to be to be able to shoot someone and make them apologise to you?

You gotta be the Veep, at the least.

But yeah water boarding isn't torture. It's only torture if it is something the US government doesn't do! If they do it, then by definition, it is not torture.
