The title is the name of a very old song. Most of my mp3 collection is filled with 50s, 60s and 70s Soul and Funk music, with anime OSTs, movie OSTs and Power Metal, Alt Rock and random Opera mixed in. Very rarely do I listen to rap, which makes me weird in the eyes of most of the people I hang with. But that's fine with me, because I don't listen to music to look cool.

So my question is....What sets you apart from the rest of your friends and peers? Does it bother you any? Why or why not?

I think differently from most people my age. I suppose I'm just a bit more mature. That's alright though, I don't mind it. I also am a little more motivated than others, and have lots of plans and such. Also, the online thing. :)

None of my friends have an online life separate from their normal one. I suppose that's the biggest difference; after all, friendships are largely based on common interests, so I'm not radically different from the people I spend my time with.

I guess this sums up how I feel too. And from now on, I think I'll just let Azar post for me since his replys always say what I can't.

Well, I'm more bitter than they are. I'm more mature and more intelligent. I use words that leave my classmates staring at my blankly, or telling me to shut up. My musical interests are also different from my peers, the majority of people here like nu-metal, emo in some form (such as post-hardcore), rap, hip hop, and pop-punk. Where I like alternative, indie, garage, grunge, punk rock, progressive, and stuff like that. We have similar interests in older stuff like Black Sabbath, but not anything else. Few people like the same music I do.

I also am the only one who likes RPGs besides Run Escape, books, learning, and speaking proper English. I'm also one of the few who doesn't date for trivial reasons and I'm also one of the few who strongly dislike Myspace.

I'm the biggest asshole, I can outdrink them all, I listen to metal, blah blah. I'm sure there's more.

I am better.

I'm also one of the few who strongly dislike Myspace.

Why?

I'm also one of the few who strongly dislike Myspace.

Why?

I can't be arsed to update blogs daily, myspace pages are usually annoying in someway or another, and the forums are awful (as are the chatrooms). it has its upsides, like keeping track of bands, and it's alright for keeping tracks of friends, but I'd rather use a forum to talk to them if I had to.

I can understand why someone could enjoy it, but it's not really for me.

I tend to be a whole lot more open-minded and understanding than a lot of my friends.

Hm, let me see. I drive by the speed limit, I don't drink alcohol, I don't stay up 'till obscene hours in the morning, I don't go out to pubs and clubs, and I dislike hanging around on street corners for no apparent reason. I guess that sets me apart from most of my 'peers' who live nearby.

:p

I'm a bit of a geek compared to my friends. Although I like to go out to out and get drunk, and watch football and socialise -- I also enjoy coming online, graphic design, computers, playing games, posting on forums and lets not forget watching the x-files! I also have a very varied music taste, liking lots of different types of genres. Does it bother me? No, not at all. Although there is stuff that I don't have in common with a lot of my friends there is also a lot of stuff that I do have in common with them. We don't all have to be the same, that would just be boring! :jess:

I don’t like sci-fi, I don’t like techno, I don’t hate reading, I don’t love cars, I am not a ladies’ man, I don’t like sports, I don’t menstruate, I don’t like [whatever] conventions, I don’t like going to parties and getting drunk, I don’t like calling them on the phone at conventional (conventional for them) hours, I don’t like playing video games for the entire day,

It probably goes on for longer than that, but I can’t really think of much at the moment. Nevertheless, I am quite surprised at how much in uncommon I have with my friends. That probably doesn’t make sense. Whatever.

I have slightly odd tastes in music, I listen to songs my classmates have never heard off. I also spent a fair amout of my spare time with my head in a big sci-fi or fantasy book. I also watch anime and read manga. I'm a bit of a loner. As you can see I stand out at school.

I play RPGs, are an anime and manga nut, and listen to rock music. The big thing is though, I'm short and blonde, therefore I shouldn't like that kind of stuff!
Still, I managed to introduce one of my friends to the Fruist Basket manga, and now we spend our lunchtimes reading it. Needless to say, we get some funny looks.

...there's no kind of atmosphere, I'm all alone, more or less, let me fly far away from here, fun fun fun in the sun sun sun.....

Liking red dwarf because none of my friends do :p (except my boss and my brother), liking games and game music and stuff which only about 1 of my real life friends does..

It doesn't bother me because people online appreciate the stuff I love, and I can talk to people, plus, it's my stuff, more love for me! :D

Well, there's a few things that set me apart from my friends..

Mostly that I like rock music (Panic! at the Disco, AFI, Plain White T's, etc.) and that I really have a goal in life (graphic designer, photographer..) cause my friends are pretty much undecided. And the fact that I like to play video games, since most of my friends are pretty girly and hate video games. But all of us are goofy and act stupid so, yeah. But, it doesnt bother me, because being different is what makes being friends exciting. You learn new things about them everyday. :D

The most striking difference between me and my friends is that I'm better than them.

I am neutral to their conversations and am just the wise man to turn to in the group.

Except for the wise man part.

Well what sets me apart is that for one i play FF. Only a few of my friends do. I actually don't care what other people think about me, and i dont let other people innfluence me to do things, act or dress a way i dont want. I also listen to different music then them. Like i'll listen to alot of FF ost's and they wouldn't

I say i'm pretty different then my friends but that doesn't really matter to me :) .

I read Private Eye :Oo:

So do I!

I love ballroom dancing, and Latin dancing, I love musicals (especially most of the old ones), I hate being mature all the time.

I tend to be the one who sees things in a more mature light. It doesn't bother me as it makes me appear wise but then I'm also seen as the crazy one of the group so its crazy wise guy.
