There are quite some, usually everybody uses the Adobe Photoshop or the Paint Shop Pro, you can also use Macromedia Fireworks and Corel Draw, and if you have really good abilities you can use the Macromedia Flash.

Also I have heard of a program thtat can generate userbars, but if you learn how to use Fireworks or Photoshop correctly, you can make your own sigs

For sigs like mine I usually use MS Paint and Corel Photo House.

GIMP is a free graphics editing program that's a lot like Photoshop. Also, if you'd like someone else to make you a sig, feel free to ask in one of these sig threads or in the Signature Request topic in Help.

although GIMP is free it is nothing close to Photoshop. Photoshop i say is the best gfx program out there for sigs.

It doesn't matter PS or GIMP you're using...If you're good...any program you use you'll still be good at it...so just practice...

Photoshop is what I use, it is not so hard but it have alot of bottoms and stuff. I'd say Use Gimp first then advance to Photoshop. Gimp is free and also not too far from PS, also some people make thier work using both Gimp and PS.
