Heard from my subscription of Tips & Tricks that Bungie's main sponser and/or funder dropped out on them and the Halo Movie or Halo 3 may never happen! This is horrible, I was so looking forward to Halo 3 and the movie. Has anybody else heard anything about this?

The Halo movie has been delayed because Microsoft lost support from Fox and Universal. They simply have to find another studio willing to back the film. That in no way affects Halo 3.

Okay good, maybe I read it wrong. As long as the game isn't delayed.

It's entirely possible the game could be delayed for other reasons. Bungie has always stood firmly by the philosophy of 'It'll be ready when it's ready." But the game won't be pushed back simply to coincide with the release of the (now delayed) movie. Here's (http://movies.ign.com/articles/742/742804p1.html) a link to the status of the film. I'm pretty confidant it'll come out eventually, but who knows how long it will take.

The movie was originally going to come out During the second quarter of 2007.

Ok, well I'm glad this really doesn't have an effect on Halo 3.

But I want to see the movie too. :(

The movie is a seperate deal. Halo 3 is the definition of a killer app. Microsoft would work harder to make sure its release is safe than the Allied forces worked to win WWII.

In response to the title, let's hope so.

personally we should see this as Bungie's loss.

people seem to like giving this game moneys.

Frankly, I can't see how a Halo movie would work at all. Really, what do they intend to do with it? What could they do with it? Couple of fight scenes with the Master Chief against the Flood and Covenant. And then what?

The movie could get cancelled for all I care. I just need my Halo 3 fix for 07.

Delayed for 5+ years (I stopped counting)? I can live with that.

Well I'd assume they'd make a movie based off the storylines of the games, or one of the books. Or something. I figured there's plenty to make a movie off of.

Yeah. Anyone who's actually played Halo and/or Halo 2 will know that there's plenty of story to make a movie out of. Honestly, with the amount of work Bungie has put into building a backstory for the Forerunners, the Covenant, the development of the Spartans, etc., and due to the fact that they don't just give everything away in the games and leave plenty of information secret or for the books/other side projects, a Halo movie could have a far stronger plot than any other videogame to film adaptation out there. Not that it really has much competition in that regard, anyway. :p

I think the movie's storyline takes place after Halo 2.

halo 3 will be out when its all good and ready. Personally I dont really care for it much, I think its pretty boring for a FPS. But Halo 3 is a system seller, so it'll be out no matter what.

Too bad that almost all movies based on games suck. I would really love to see Halo 3 break that trend.

With Peter Jackson involved in the movie, hopefully it will turn out to be good.

I was going to say "Let's hope, indeed!" except Spatvark+Zeromus_X had to ruin it.

Right on!

Edit: Azar, I used to be one of the biggest Halo fans around. I had the original for the PC and Xbox, I bought all the books, I listened to the soundtrack over and over, plus loads of remixes. I played all of the fan-games, and I was also making my own (rather bad) fan-game. Then... BLAM! It all went downhill when Halo 2 came out. There was no more emphasis on having a balance. It was all about 'coolness' and it was too movie-like. Tell me you agree. It's from Halo 2 onwards when my interest in Halo dropped and dropped. Oh yeah, I also played a lot of Halo mods and modded Halo.

Didn't Peter Jackson do "King Kong"? If so, that's a good sign.:)

They are making a movie!? bad ass! (Well, if it was made by a couple cracked out fans I would think so, but I think MS FUBARed it.

edit: Ha no closing parentheses, I am such a badass.
