Silly little newbie doobies . They keep reviving threads and making me post in them . Then I feel the fool.

Now, because Levian is holding a gun to my head at this very moment in time, the topic of this thread is:

Do you actually bother checking the dates or times that someone has posted?

It's clear to see I don't. Feel free to wait 3 months before posting in this thread for comedic effect. *click* I mean....don't. :(

XD sometimes on other forums I don't bother checking because I don't really think to, plus I don't know which topics in here would be considered too old to revive...

I don't bother to because I usually just recognize the thread from long ago when it was first around.

What does it matter?

Two months later you may be that much wiser and have that much more to say on the matter. Or perhaps your oppinion has changed all together.

Time is more than money, it's also experience.

[Besides its better to ressurect than to clone?]

I can definitely tell REALLY old threads just by looking at the the people who have posted in them. It's like, if there's a thread that Bleys has posted in, you know it's old.

Now, because Levian is holding a gun to my head at this very moment in time, the topic of this thread is:

Who said holding people at gunpoint never did anyone good? :shoot: Good boy!

I tend to ignore the dates, but like Miriel I notice who's been posting, heck sometimes I've even posted in it myself. (http://forums.eyesonff.com/showthread.php?t=64818)

I think it is quite amusing to revive old Threads :spin:

It keeps the Cid Knights active! It gives them something to do.

If they didn't close old Threads regularly, they'd be out of shape and out of practice.

So Thread revival should be encouraged

I only post in topics that are on the first page of the forums.

Yes, I always check the post dates. :cat:

Quindiana Jones

Well obviously.

I'm laughing, because I always check the most recent poster on the thread before opening it, and a shiver of fear went down my spine when I read Leeza. I thought my thread had been closed :( EoFF has made me paranoid.

Hang on, I'm spamming my own thread.
To those who have said something about first pages or some other such like, I would also like to know if you sometimes accidentally post in an old thread because a newbienewbnewb or other had posted and you never realised?

Don't worry Quinny, baby, Leeza scares the bejesus outta me too :)

...

...

Actually... worry! :(

If it's not on the fist page, it's probably not worth posting in.

Yes I have, then I warned the post in which the thread was revived with.

In answer to the main question, indeed I do.

Slightly off topic: Do any of you lot get PM's saying "IS it alright if I post in so-and-so forum?"? Just wondering...

I don't. But if I did, I'd exert the authority they were under the impression I had, by saying: No, you bloody well can't.

I don't usually check. I accidentally posted in one of those revived 'newbie' threads the other day without even realising that it was from 2004.

Not normally, no. I've accidently posted in old revived threads myself, though sometimes I get the old deja vu and realize I've posted in them before.

I usually check the date when the thread was started and when the latest posts were sent. If the discussion is going pretty well and there's something I can add there, and especially if a mod has also posted on the revived thread without closing it, I might actually post in an old thread. With old threads, I sometimes recognize them anyway. "Hey, wasn't there a thread like this about a year ago... wait a sec, this is the same thread!" :D

I'm always naked.
It seems to be newbies posting in newbie threads that gets me. I just like greeting people....from 2004...:(

Honestly, I don't most of the time. If I do by some chance, it's because of that thing called the wandering eye.

Yes, it does. I use Firefox. Go to your Options in your User CP and make sure that you don't have your drop-down menu set to none for the Date Format.

No. Usually it's pretty obvious if a thread is old or not, though P:
