First off, if you know where I got the title from I love ya:love:

So I'm sitting here killing some time on Halloween night, so I'm listening to a pure "radio channel" on my TV. I decide to listen to the station called "Sounds of the Seasons" which is playing a strange mix of music they feel is befitting Halloween. Midnight strolls along and BOOM!... Christmas Carols...

Sweet zombie Jesus people, Halloween is still technically going on... the corpse is still warm and we're already moving on to something that won't be happening for almost two months!

So now I weep for our future...

I say that it should be illegal to celebrate Christmas until after thanksgiving. It isn't time for the warm fuzzies yet, people!

Althiugh after Christmas we do have more to be thankful for...

But still. Stop skipping the damn holidays!

Christmas shopping starts earlier every year. Soon, we'll be doing our Christmas 2008 shopping in December of 2007.

Ah well, any excuse for a celebration. *hails saturnalia*

Christmas has gone downhill for me the last few years. Manchester doesnt want to affend other religions and was so dull and crap last year. We had purple reindeer in the main shopping center ... Bullcrap. The TV has gone mega /xxx.gif/xxx.gif/xxx.gif/xxx.gif and I just hate it.

End rant.

I loathe Christmas. Always have, and most likely alwasy will.
The only good that comes out of it are the feasts.

However, I absolutely love Halloween and Thanksgiving. Horrors and fucking freights of hot food...

Orgasmic!

Christmas has always been more about commercialism than anything else. It happens with all the major holidays, really; stores have to get their merchandise out well in advance to maximize the amount of money they can squeeze out of us. I used to complain about it, but I haven't really had any Christmas spirit since I was 15 or 16, so I don't really care anymore.

Worst part of Christmas: Commercialism in stores, bad TV shows based on the "holiday spirit," radios playing the same old crappy Christmas songs over and over and over again throughout December (and my parents listening to it).

Best part: The warmth of being with my family on Christmas morning.

Therefore, Christmas celebrations should be contained to Christmas day. QED.

I love Christmas, but I don't love it until the day after Thanksgiving.

Yeah, I hate Christmas, stupid commercialized piece of crap draining my wallet for all its worth. Well, they ain't getting a penny out of me, that's for sure. Mark my words, Wolf Kanno! Mark my words.

Ok, that should secure my masculinity for another week. I actually love spending time with my family at Christmas, but don't tell anyone.

I love Christmas. To be honest, the actual Christmas day for me usually unhappy due to various family dramas, but I get so hyped for Christmas throughout December. I love spreading Christmas fun about EoFF, so I make my sig set all Engrish Santa and I like to save various nice Engrish Christmas sayings! :jess:

That's fine because Christmas (http://forums.eyesonff.com/member.php?u=15004) prolly hates you too.

Now they holiday I like, I just want to celebrate thanksgiving first. But I mean bring on the gifts. Yet if they come to early than it ruins the surprise.

Our Thanksgiving is in October and Halloween is over so Christmas is the next thing on the list. However, I think that the first week of November is still way too too early to start hanging up the Christmas lights and I see that this is already starting to happen here. Christmas stuff is all over the stores even before the Halloween stuff is cleared off the shelves.

On a positive note though, this means that I can now officially listen to my Snowed In CD by Hanson and not feel dumb. :)

...don't say it. :cat:

What's so special about holidays? Food? Okay, so I get to see my family but it's so boring because they usually just ignore me.

I'm disgusted by the idea of a strange old man sneaking into people's houses at night, and giving little kiddies "presents".

Dreddz
11-05-2006, 10:18 PM
Christmas has lost all meaning now. People think of it as a day purely to give presents, while actually we are all supposed to be celebrating Jesus's birth. Where the hell does Santa come in all of this ? Jews are the lucky ones, Hanukkah hasnt fallen to the wrath of society and their wallets.

Wow, I came off pretty religous in this post, I can assure you lot im not a Christian or part of any other religous group.

Then again I can officially correctly state anyone with a red santa is advertising Coca Cola for free. You see back before the early 1900s Old saint nick wore green get up not red! Coke as we call them now changed his suit from green to red for a christmas advertising campaign, thus anyone with a red santa is advertising coke.

Christmas is only as commercial as you let it be. If you celebrate it the right way, with family and other loved ones, it's wonderful. If all Christas is too you is greeting cards and present whoring, well, that's your own fault and I pity you. You're missing out on something great.

Unless, of course, getting nice presents for your friends and family is one of your favourite parts of Christmas, because you love the expression on their faces.

I am someway reminded to the radio station being played in Resevoir Dogs. *sounds of the seasons...*

First off, to clarify... for those of you who don't celebrate Thanksgiving, I only used the title cause it sounded appropiate for my rant and if you look carefully, I never mention the holiday (I personally don't care for the holiday and I know we skip it cause no one really cares about it.) I wanted to carry the "mean spirit" of Lewis Black when he started his stand up routine about how we start Christmas really early here. So no more hate please:cry:
My beef is that it is still "technically" Halloween and this station is already whipping out Christmas carols. It's two months away, at least give me a week of downtime to recover from Halloween. I actually like Christmas but I felt it was pretty damn funny that people are already throwing it at our faces. ;)
