Master the Ninja class, for your fighter, X-Fight, and maybe Magic Sword level 6 if you want to make it hurt even more.

Someone who can cast White Magic (up to level 6), and at least be able to summon Golem.

A Time Mage with GilToss or Throw.

And maybe a Mime.

Everyone Bare with Ribbons, Angel Rings, and Red Shoes. Oh yeah.

Not as much here as I thought...

http://forums.eyesonff.com/showthread.php?t=50054

The bottom line would be Samurai, Mimic, BM, Caller, Dancer - For skills to crush X-Death in the particular ways stated.

just go in there and if you cant beat X-death, use the riduculous amounts of AP in the final floors to build your characters however you want.

what are your levels?

i beat the game with everyone at level 38-39 and had no real problems.

you should have at least two characters with a mastered physical job class like knight or dragoon. in fact. its useful to have everyone master a physical and a magical job class (Although i only had two characters with physical ones mastered.).

this way you can change your job class to bare and have everyone with high health, good weapons and useful magic.

i used a normal party for the dungeon but for the final boss himself i use 4 bare classes with summoning. 3 with qhite amgic and one with time magic.

Yis and mastering a Monk will give your Bare class about an extra 1000HP.

Having the blue magic command is useful IF you have Gaurdian. I would use attacks that target all of X-deaths segments.. Bahamut being the obvious choice, then adding Quick and/or mime to the mix.

2 Freelancers
1 Summoner
1 Mime

Have the Freelancers with a mastery of Ninja, Ranger, and Gladiator. They will have the innate Dual Wield ability. Give them Rapid Shot and Long Reach, stick them in the back.

Summoner with a mastery of Red Mage. Equip him/her with a Gold Hairpin to cut magic cost down. Equip the Dualcast ability.

Mime will just sit there and Mime the Summoner. Maybe give them a mastery of White Magic so you can save yourself if you mess up.

Both Freelancers should just spam Rapid Shot. They should each down around 7500 - 10,000 damage each round. Summoner dual casts Bahamut. Mime copies Summoner. Combined they should do around 18,000 per round.

I took X-Death down in a round and a half. Neo ExDeath was gone in about three rounds.

One death. Ended the battle with all guys revived and with full health. Didn't even worry about anything.

Edit: Oops. Topic is a tad old. I'll just leave this here if anyone else needs help.

Freelancer is the catchier but less accurate new name for Bare.

Really? I think it's a far better description and name than Bare ever provided.

Ah, okay. Understandable now. I never knew what the Japanese name was so I just attributed it to what the class actually does. Which, in that case, would be more accurately described as Freelancer.

They can equip them though~!

I like "Freelancer" better than "Bare", but anyway...

As to the original topic, I don't know if it works on the other versions, but on the PS2 Anthology version equipping two swords and using Flare Sword! Magic on turn one followed by SShot! on subsequent turns = a load of hurt. You'll make eight hits each turn for damage depending on your level, I guess, up to several thousand damage each hit. That strategy slaughtered Shinryu as well in my game.

Tossing Magic Shurikens (four or five you can find in the N-Zone or buy some in Mirage IIRC--though I'm not sure whether they are better than CoinToss in terms of damage per $) can come close to doing max one-hit damage.

And as others have mentioned Bahamut is useful, especially for Neo X-Death.

I just finished FFVA the other day. Spamming !Dualcast with Time Magic to pull out five castings of Meteor in one turn is pretty damn fun. And then just abusing !Mimic right afterwards makes it even sweeter.

I don't really think long range is all that useful. The attacks that really hurt aren't physical anyway, are they? Instead you could put in time magic and use Quick.
I just grinded all my jobs to master though. it doesn't take a lot of time if you fast forward with an emulator in the final dungeon. Even without fast forwarding it shouldn't take too long. I just love having all those passive abilities active. Extra speed from thief, extra evade from samurai, and they can all use ribbons.

Physical attacks do a decent amount of damage to Neo Exdeath. I was Bladeblitzing to each target for about 3K with Bartz.

I like to make Bartz and Faris bare, with two swords ability and the Magic Sword ability with Flare...then use the other two for summons and healing...Or using Quick on my fighters...

X-Death went down like Chinatown....

Well I beat him the other night, and it was the most instense battle I've ever had playing FF, even more so that Zeromus. I had two Bare, one with Sshot & Throw (Bartz) the other Two-handed & White (Faris), one White Mage with Summon (Reina) and a Mime with Black (Krile). The only time I had any serious trouble was when one of the parts started spaming Meteo, other than that it weren't to tough but lasted about twenty minutes.

No, I meant Exdeath's physical attacks aimed at the party. They're not what hurt the most of his attacks.
