Anyone knows anything about DSRF?
In the tutorial you will find:
3015 Found a strong energy field
4141Call this place Deep See Deposit
4127 Travel by underwater tower
4242 Seal off Deep Sea Deposit
I have no clue about that.Anyone can tell me what is that?

i dont know what you mean by most of that.
once you've got the ragnorok (airship.) fly to the bottom left corner of the world map and somewhere around there you should find the DSRF.
Can anyone explains these numbers
3015 Found a strong energy field

4242 Seal off Deep Sea Deposit

MMDD or DDDD, explaining when these things first happened. At least, that's the way it made the most sense to me.

I think they're years, actually.
A thousand year running time for a research facility is incredibly unlikely. A thousand year running time is unlikely for any building, really, much less one stuck out in the middle of the ocean.
Not to say it's impossible, merely not parsimonious.

What is MMDD and DDDD?
It means first two digits represent month, second two days, or all four represent days.

I think DDDD would make the most sense. A time period of 4242 days would be about 12 years, which is a reasonable time frame.
FFVIII is very coy about providing absolute dates. You can map events relative to each other, but not to a year zero.
A couple of years ago, I put together a timeline of major game events that had happened a specific number of years in the past of game time:
(There are a few spoilers in here)
FFVIII Timeline
Years ago = y.a.
Deep Sea Research Center = DSRC
(Month/Day)
? y.a. Great Hyne creates life
4000 y.a. Centra civilization founded
? y.a. Esthar founded
? y.a. Dollet Empire founded
80 y.a. Centra cities destroyed by Lunar Cry
44 y.a. (1/3) Laguna Loire born
42 y.a. (2/25) Ward Zabac born
40 y.a. (7/6) Kiros Seagill born
18 (?) y.a. Horizon Bridge finished
18 y.a. Julia Heartilly marries General Caraway
18 y.a. Galbadia invades Timber
18 y.a. (10/4) Quistis Trepe born
18 y.a. (12/22) Seifer Almasy born
17 y.a. Sorceress Wars ends

3015 DSRC found a strong energy field
4127 Travel possible by underwater tower
4141 DSRC named Deep Sea Deposit
4242 DSRC sealed off Deep Sea Deposit
I think i have figured it out!:)
3015 Found a strong energy field (The day they find that place in the middle of the ocean)
3 is the month
01 is the date
???5 is the year
4127 Travel by underwater tower (2 years later)
4 is the month
12 is the date
???7 is the year
4141 Call this place Deep See Deposit (4 years later)
4 is the month
14 is the date
???5 is the year
4242 Seal off Deep Sea Deposit (The day they abandon this place)
4 is the month
24 is the date
???2 is the year
If that is true that means DSRF only running more or less 7 years before they left it.
I think that explanation is the best way to describe the number, and it makes sense.
If you go down to the facility to fight omega weapon it looks like there's many buildings in the way you go down.
It looks like there used to be a city but sank in ocean by something.
I think Squall need to find the right frequency to resonating to the rock.
If the frequency is right Ultima Weapon can hear it then go to the source of the frequency and without any clear reason Ultima Weapon fights Squall.
It the same with Omega Weapon, you have to ring the bell first to make Omega Weapon appears.

If memory serves, you have to fight your way down to the bottom of the Deep Sea Deposit (even with Enc-None), and the random encounters in the DSD disappear if you defeat Ultima Weapon.
And I thought Zell just lets you take a different path down the DSRC.
Wouldn't it make more sense, if we're bringing years into it, to arrange it as YDDD? IE: Year 4, Day 242

Yes, it COULD mean either of those, but neither of those gives an accurate count of the day of the year, and makes them worthless as counting tools. However, how, exactly, is YDDD inconsistent?

Facility? Unlikely. Deposit? Possibly. Not like it's impossible, what with all the Lunar cries throughout time.
No, I don't like when people try and criticize me without leg one to stand on.
You have to open-minded when someone criticize you.
For example you often criticize people without mercy.
You want someone apologizes to you when he/she insulted you but in other hand you never say sorry to the person you have insulted.

There's many old structures in DSRF.
The structures existed before those DSRF people discovered it.
Maybe Lunar Cry is an issue here but how can you prove it.

Ryushikaze is actually using a valid application of the scientific method to evaluate this game:
1) If someone makes an unusual claim, the burden of proof is on the person making the claim. It's not of the job of the people hearing the claim to disprove it.
2) Many explainations for events are possible, but simpler explanations are more likely. That's known as Occam's Razor.
3) Valid evidence would include events from the game itself, an official book (like Ultimania), or creator interviews.
Speculating on ideas that are based on other sources can be fun, but are ultimately unproveable. However, some ideas are more likely than others.

I can't. But I don't need to. Because you see, I merely offered the Lunar cry as a possible reason why a city could be swept, mostly whole, into the sea. I have not said that it is.

But when you insult/mocking someone (i.e Viator,PAK,ect) you call names about them but you never say sorry.
I only 'say names' about someone when I fully feel they deserve it, based on their history and/or lack of supporting evidence coupled with their insistence about their pet postulates. I'd also like to note that your only example of me 'demanding' an apology was more akin to a "Y'know, that kind of talk gets this sort of thing closed. You may wish to retract it before the swift hammer of justice arrives".
I never assume your hypothesis has a flaw,i only tell my opinion about your hypothesis but you overreacted about it.
How is it overreacting to ask you to explain how my idea is 'inconsistent', and later 'alterable' (which is a direct criticism of the hypothesis, which you cannot defend as 'just opinion'), then get miffed when you cannot actually explain what it inconsistent/ alterable about it?
You also think that there used to be a city?
I think it's possible it was a city. It's also possible it was a single edifice. I, however, do not feel there is sufficient evidence to decide what the original purpose of the Deposit was, save that it was an artificial creation.
I only 'say names' about someone when I fully feel they deserve it
They deserve it?
I am telling you now, you are not the one right person to judging someone.
You are worse than anyone that you have insulted,i believe you can feel it too.
What you deserve then? Glory, victory, proud because you feel like you are above them all?
Then what about you, "the one who judging us" ,who are you?
based on their history and/or lack of supporting evidence coupled with their insistence about their pet postulates.
What your history then?
You thought that your pet postulates superior than the others?
You thought that you are always the right one?

The Lunar Cry impacts the ground. Given sufficient force, it could cause an earthquake, loosening a seaside structure and causing it to fall into the sea, if, indeed, the cry is the cause. Though, I have no idea why you would think an impactor would necessarily turn a city to ash, especially since it left several ruins mostly intact, and since when we saw it during the course of the game, there was nothing involved but repeated Kinetic Energy transfers.
I'm worse? Because I demand evidence to support speculation? Because I demand rational deduction? Could you explain how I'm worse?

Mine about yours YYDD
No, that's an example of a way in which it can be alterred. Not a reason why it should be. I can also give a reason why it should not. Being that it only has two "day" digits, it can only count up to 99 out of 365 days, or 9 out of 365 in the case of YYYD, which only has one. YDDD can only count to a total of 10 years (beginning from year 0 and ticking over to 1 on day 366, or using 0 to indicate year 10 if starting with year 1), but can very easily be adusted to count additional years by adding a new digit to the left. Slightly clonky, but usable without too much issue, and it guarantees no duplicate dating.
Meanwhile, your method MDDY has two issues about numbering. The first is that with only one month digit, you cannot express all months in the year. The second it also cannot count past 10 years, and adjustments for these (involving adding additional digits to either M or Y) will result in duplicate entries, for example, 10216 could either be Jan 2nd, year 16, or Oct 21st, year 6.
Without destroying the city?
Lunar Cry should destroy that city into ruins if that the case but you can see many buildings in DSRF are almost intact.
Not if the Cry does not impact the city itself, but causes the shockwaves which cause a cleavage of a rock plane, and a loosening of the city/structure.
Though, I have no idea why you would think an impactor would necessarily turn a city to ash, especially since it left several ruins mostly intact, and since when we saw it during the course of the game, there was nothing involved but repeated Kinetic Energy transfers.

You have not explain anything why you would stated to Ryushikaze at all. If you think Ryushikaze is bad, then you no diffent from Ryushikaze so stop bick'in eachother!

Come on you can provide it for yourself without my help.
It is not the burden of the defense to do the work of the prosecution.
But dont you always think that your explanation is better than anyone else.
No.
Not until you say sorry to the person you have insulted.
Oh let me guess, they dont deserve it, or because you are too arrogant or too pride to yourself until you cant say sorry.
Red herring. What I have said to others is immaterial to this discussion. This is also an Ad Hominem. Izzat some hypocrisy I smell?
And to be frank, it really gets me that you want me to apologize to the 'person I insulted' when they were the one engaged in flaming me.
Forget it.
Forget what? Seriously, though, since you now know I was not being sarcastic, what do you think I was being?
So you never felt that you are demanding person.
Well now, I can't even decided which fallacies this is. I can be demanding without having been demanding during this exchange. It's not a black/white situation.
Dont get me wrong, i agree with your idea.
Then why the earlier objections to it?
There's still oxygen in the bottom of DSRF.
How can oxygen still remain in the ocean floor for a a long time?
I'm assuming you mean free air, since there is actually a wealth of oxygen at the ocean floor, and in that case, the answer is, there isn't. For any period of time.
UNLESS, of course, the Deep Sea Deposit has been sealed and air pumped in from above.
I thought you can understand it.
Still, mechanistic descriptions are generally extremely literal. Using a metaphor in such a description (though how you use it as such escapes me) is counterproductive.
It is not the burden of the defense to do the work of the prosecution.
You just provide it yourself by saying those words
what do you think I was being?
I dont care.
Red herring. What I have said to others is immaterial to this discussion. This is also an Ad Hominem. Izzat some hypocrisy I smell?

You are the first person flaming on others.
See what i mean, you always look at negative sides of people.
I can be demanding without having been demanding during this exchange
oh yeah?
Then why the earlier objections to it?
Like i said i only speak my opinion about your idea.
If you think that as an objection, have it your way

No, no I have not. The above is in no way evidence of resorting to ad hom's as opposed to arguing a point. It is evidence of me not falling for your attempt to shift the burden of proof of your claim onto me, nothing more.
I dont care.
You don't care what you were accusing me of being? That's odd.
You are the first person flaming on others.
By what definition of flaming is this true?
See what i mean, you always look at negative sides of people.
No. No I do not. But for someone getting on my case for 'looking on the negative sides of people', you are engaged in a lot of it yourself.
oh yeah?
Yes.
Like i said i only speak my opinion about your idea.
If you think that as an objection, have it your way
An opinion is a purely subjective statement of personal preference, IE- "Pie is tasty", or "I hate green".
An objection to something can be related to, or the cause of an opinion, but is not actually one, and is based on the thing being objected to, IE- "The wallpaper looks like pea soup" or "The "Intelligent Design" theory is neither intelligent, nor a design".
Your original statement of "Your idea is inconsistent,it could also mean YYDD or YYYD." Does not read as opinion, but as objection. You do not seem to speak English as a first language, so the error is understandable, but take my word on it that this is not an expression of opinion in English.
No, no I have not. The above is in no way evidence of resorting to ad hom's as opposed to arguing a point. It is evidence of me not falling for your attempt to shift the burden of proof of your claim onto me, nothing more.
The moment when you write "It is not the burden of the defense to do the work of the prosecution." You knew that i was right about you.
So i wont bother to explain something that we both know.
No. No I do not.

No, I'm just not willing to do the work for other people, especially someone who is in the middle of what is rapidly turning out to be nothing more than a long winded ad hominem.
No. No I do not.
Liar
And now who's always looking on the negative side of people? Especially after I find this in my inbox.
What i was being?
Actually i want to say that you are pathetic but i think you are the one that should say that.
I won't visit EoFF again so save your final words for yourself.
Well, good sir, sayonara, and concession accepted.
