i can't beat it!
ive tried everything, and it just wont die. i have all of the best weapons, esuna, but it just doesnt take damage. i've summoned, i've used quickening chains, but it takes a sliver off the health.
and quickenings usually finish it off.
also...i need some remedies to cure all of the status ailments at once instead of esuna, then removing oil, etc. but i can never get remedies. i just got 3 from montblanc, and thats all.
also [i know i ask a lot of questions], why does the clan provisioner now olnly provide me with gysahl greens, and after using 2 teleport stones to go to bhujerba...teleport back, and all i get is something dropped by black chocobos??
what do gysahl greens do in this game anyway, and how do i use them?
if anyone has answers to any of these questions, it would be much appreciated.

Elder Dragon:
Have a character tank it and a character uses long ranged weapon to fight it. The tanker have to distract the dragon to look at him alone so that the dragon's attack will concentrate on him and will never hit the long ranged character. Then, the long ranged character is your main healer and curer. Before it dies, have everyone use Quickening including the reserved party.
Gysahl Green:
Is used for riding chocobo which can be found while you are travelling. If you saw a lost yellow chocobo with riding equipment on it, feed it the green and you can ride it for free.

Also, Remedies are unreliable to use because there is so few of them. I would recommend that you set up your Gambits between your characters so that everyone has a few status ailments to heal. For example, have Basch set up to use Eye Drops, Echo Herbs, and Antidote; then have Vaan set up to use Gold Needle, Smelling Salts, and Phoenix Down...etc. You get the idea.
Buff your party with Shell and Protect first before fighting him. Stop Elder Dragon from attacking your healer by using Decoy. Make sure your healer have good MP and is far from Elder Dragon (To avoid Sporefall).

First, ESUNA. Get Esuna on at least 3 people. If 1 gets Sporefalled, then switch in another to Esuna them.
Second, no quickenings. Even a 10-hit Mist combo usually does only about 1/3 of his HP, and it uses all of your MP.
First, go for the treants. They are irritating. Then, just whittle him down. When he uses Sporefall, just heal everyone up with Esuna. Keep healing and hitting and you will do fine.

that elder dragon pissed me off too... jus set up some gambits, use esuna and hang tough... you can find good chocobos wandering around give them a gyshai green to ride it

This is a very long battle.
What I would reccomend is subbing in your inactive party members to wait around to lure the treants closer to the elder wrymn and then use a quickening chain to hopefully take them out. Then sub in your main party (you can just wait for those characters to die) and just whittle him down. Have at least one party member with a ranged weapon as your leader, to run around and regain MP and avoid sporefall. Everyone should know Esuna. Keep Larsa alive, because his hi-potions are love.
I ended up using quickenings with my main party, too, so was short on MP the whole time. It still wasn't too bad, because outside of sporefall the elder wyrm really just focuses on one character. I disabled all cure gambits in order to conserve MP, and just relied on several phoenix downs and Larsa's hi-potions to keep me healed, which ended up being enough. The trouble was running around with Ashe with a bow to be able to cast Esuna (because everyone else typically got hit, and often confused). But outside of sporefall, the elder wyrm really isn't bad at all. It just takes a while.

try doin it like this...
1st bring out ur weaker chars then perform quickenings on him...make sure u make a good combo...
then bring out ur TWO strongest chars!(3 chars is only good for damaging, but it burns MP and u waste too much time buffing, reviving, and face it they are not intelligent enough to make a 3 way attack)make sure u use a gun or bow,but gun is best coz it pierces...give ur other char some sword and shield..Let ED beat up ur other char so u can stand there safe and u do the healing manually...ur 1st gambit should be haste on all,2nd KO=phoenix,3rd esuna=negative status, last curaga=ally <30% HP (in case of emergencies), the rest u do it manually...just dont let ED notice u or its gona get messy..>>>its also a good idea to use potions for non-delay actions

is this the dragon that has grass and flowers growing on it? and then it shakes spores off and gives you bunch of status ailments?
if it is, then i guess you really need to watch out for sap so equip esuna on everyone. Also, try to get the quickenings, then your MP would be higher so more healing.

Elder Dragon huh?
I heard from my friend that he died 4 times from this guy....I am just surprised that he actually died.
My tips:
Before fight (recommended): All characters in your party should have esuna, and at least 2 quickenings. 3 (or 2 in my case--Fran had a bow) of your party members should have a shield and a sword. At least one character should have silence, slow, and/or disable available. Full mp and full hp..and...that is about it. Now to the main battle:
It does not matter if you do quickening chains. If you want a boring, quick fight, go for it. But for those who want challenge and actually fight it normally like in any other ff games.....
You only need your main party members. You do not even need ranged characters...although fran with a bow would be quite nice. Have pretty much everyone in your party equipped with a decent shield and a sword. Shield really really helps in this game, cause if you block an attack, you pretty much just absorb that full dmg. Have all of your characters attack at once.
One really useful magick in this fight? Disable. This move will prevent the boss from taking any action for a certain period of time. If your characters are hurt from the Sporefall and/or are low on hp. Cast this, and use the time to heal and remove ailments. As for oil..you can't do much about it unless you have lots and lots of handkerchief.....
also...try to silence him. If it misses, keep trying until you manage to pull it off.
If silence does not work, use slow on him. This really helps because it increases the time that the dragon will hit you or cast a spell. Have the character with the most mp be the main ailment remover. Everyone can cast cure. If you have cura, use it! That spell really helps here, since it heals everyone. Synchronize it with other characters curing themselves to bring the hp back to full or near full hp.
As for fighitng him, just bash him. Casting a spell takes too long for this fight....and it won't do much dmg because he has shell on i believe....
Swords help here alot cause they do decent dmg with the added evasion of the shield.
As for the treants....just aero them to death in the beginning of the fight.
I did not use protect or shell for this fight..and the only character who died was Larsa...but hes a guest...so you can't do much about what actions he will make....(he actually died a few times~)

No, Quickenings just won't help in this fight, 17 hit of Quickening will only do around 29000 damage, while the approximate HP of his is 67939.
I really recommend of keeping Larsa alive. Hi-Potion helps a lot. Forget about those Cura or Cure when you have Larsa.
Abotu weapon, I use different types of weapon to get different damage. If you want only one weapon, I'd use Axes/Hammers, high attacks, chance to do more higher damage (Also lower damage >.>), that'll do good. Besides, I always get high damage  .
I think he's immune to Disable.
USE DECOY TO DRAW THE WYRM'S ATTENTION TO ONLY ONE CHARACTER!!!!
