Why isn't Zeromus Undead in the GBA Version of FF4?
He was undead in the SNES Version since Cure4 would hurt him badly whenenver I casted it on him. When I tried using Cure4 (or Curaja) on him in the GBA Version he got healed instead of getting hurt.
Can anyone explain this?

He was never undead... *tests* Nope, cure four still heals in SNES.

I believe the technical termed is "served", or in abrojtm's case, I'd say that ".devres tog uoY".

Where did you get Zeromus was undead? Zeromus has never been undead, that would have made for an easy battle, all you'd have to do is casdt Life2(or Full-Life) to win.

Have you tried it in the American Version?

I tried the American version of FFIV for SNES (FF"2"), and Cure4 not only heals Zeromus for quite a lot of HP, but it also makes him counter-attack by hitting your characters with Nuke (Flare), which certainly doesn't heal you. :p

Man no wonder Zeromus is one of the greatest villians of all time. >.>
He's not an evil giant bug thing for nothing I guess. <.<

I sure hope he isn't undead. :( :cat:
Are you sure you're not thinking of Scarmiglione or some other undead boss?

Yeah, I think Milon/Scarmiglione is the only undead boss in FFIV. There's usually at least one undead boss in an FF game, but it's never the final boss.

Dark King being the sole exception to the rule.

The Dark King was fantastic, in so many ways. First of all, I have no idea why he's a bad guy. I don't recall hearing anything about him until right before we go to his dungeon to kill him. Prior to that, there's no mention of him at all, if memory serves.
The cool thing about FFMQ was how the monsters changed partway through the fight, regular monsters having two forms, and bosses having several. The Dark King puts on some very menacing fascades, but you won't see them if you use CURE on him, which is, incidently, the first spell you can get in the game.
"How amusing! Is that all you can muster?"
I liked FFMQ for the gameplay experience, and it was fun to play if I wanted to play a game that didn't really involve thinking/strategy or previous RPG experience. Plus, the ability to interact with the enviroment (like cutting down trees, etc...) was cool and some of the puzzles took me a couple of attempts, like where you have to push the blocks around in Basin Falls, and if you push one into a corner and you can't get it out, you're screwed and you have to just leave and come back.
The random battle thing just didn't exist. You'd see your enemies in dungeons (except in Ice Pyramid and Lava Dome, before you get the items to see them), and on the world map, you actually have to go to a Battlefield to get in a fight, and you can only do 10 fights per battlefield. There's actually a finite number of fights that you can get into on the world map! I love.
Plus, the shoulder-shrugging main character only recieves 2GP a month for his allowance. I'll bet his stingy parents were on that mountain-city thing when it fell into the whatever it fell into.
However, the story may very well be the most ridiculous story that Squaresoft ever put into a video game.

I could've sworn he was undead though. :(

When I tried using Life2 on Zeromus it missed.

Why would you cast Life2 on something that's already alive?

If Zeromus had been undead, Life2 might have killed him. However, that's only a "might have". AFAIK, there are undead bosses in the FF series that can be hurt with healing spells, but they're immune to Life spells and Phoenix Downs.

Memory suggests that FF8 had one, possibly two bosses that were undead and able to be insta-KOed by life/phoenix down. The second wasn't much of a boss.. though.
But memory has been wrong before.

I'd laugh if he was undead.
As most undeads can be "kiiled" in RPGs by being given the Full Cure attacks (Or whatever).
There for you can kill them in one hit - a bit pathetic for the final boss.

Undead enemies in FFIV can't be killed by Life Spells/Phoenix Downs because they alway ends up missing undead enemies.
