What gaming generation were you born into/grew up with?

4 bit-pong, asteroids, good ol atari

8 bit- NES FTW!

16 bit- the SNES

32 bit-, well i dont know much about if there ever was one of these, but sega genesis and other consoles around that time fit in

64 bit- Playstation, N64

128 bit- The gaming trinity of Gamecube, Xbox and PS2

256 bit- PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii ^ ^

as for me, it was a yearning for the SNES, but N64, and Wii this winter!

:D

I grew up with 64 bit. :) And 32 if Playstation is, in fact, 32 bit.

I liked the SNES the best, because it had the best games. Besides, SNES started off as 16 bit, but it ended up 32 bit.

Playstation is 32-bit. :(

I've been an 8-bit child of The Legend of Zelda from 7 years old.

Well, I started with 8 bits, but mostly played 16 bits from when I was 9+, I guess.

Well, I'm 14, but since I got the NES AFTER the SNES was released, and from there got the systems in generational order as prices dropped, would that make me a 3rd generation person?

I did have a NES as a kid, and played Zelda, Megaman, and Legendary Wings like a fiend. Then I had a Genesis, a Sega CD, a Playstation, and then here we are today with my Ps2 and Gamecube...so I guess I started back in the 8-bit days. I feel old so I'm going to quit now.

"Bits" are a pretty flimsy criterion for defining console generations. It's much more reliable to simply separate them by the years they were released and relevant. Like so.

I was Commodore 64, whichever generation that fits under.

I grew up at the start of the 16 bit generation. Megadrive was my first console.

I grew up, first system was Intellivision. So I guess according to your poll, I'm second generation. Though I did play a lot of the very first games ever made, such as Space War, first game ever. But that was much later than it's actual creation.

well i went with what i knew how to most easily describe it. also, my bit "categories" might be off, but i hope people get the drift.

i began with the Nintendo (NES) system like when i was about 6 years of age. i remember i had this super cartridge thing with like 52 games on it. i could still be found playing them if my dad never sold it...

I'm 3rd Generation, but I voted Seventh on a spastic whim that I now regret.

This has taken control of me for every poll, thus far, making all my votes, at least, a contribution to the unreliable.

NES FOREVER!

The Third and Fourth Generations apply to me. I didn't even own a PlayStation until a year or so ago. xD :cat:

I was born in the twillight of the Third Generation, but grew up in the Fourth with an SNES at my side.

Nothing to be sad about, that means you have more gaming knowledge than the rest of us.;)

As for me NES all the way.

What gaming generation were you born into/grew up with?

8 bit actually (first gen)-pong, asteroids, good ol atari

8 bit (the gen we know and love)- Sega Master System, NES

16 bit- SNES, Genesis

32 bit/64 bit- Playstation (32bit),Saturn (32bit), N64 (64 bit)

bits no longer matter- Dreamcast (32bit), Gamecube (64 bit if I remember correctly), Xbox (32bit) and PS2 (dual 64 bit)

See above. We'll just call this the sixth gen per this list- PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii

Fixed your list. Yeah I'm picky, but I hate when people still see bits as a measure of console power.

Anyway, I used to play a lot of NES when I would visit my aunt as a young'in but never had one myself. You could say I got my proper start when I got a SNES for Christmas way back in '92 I believe.

My first console was an Amiga, but the first one that mattered was my sexy NES

The 32 bit. I still think that the old games were the best, nowdays games are so repeating themselves.

My name is...something..?

My first console was an NES.
I remember playing the three Ninja Gaiden games over and over.
Even if I couldn't beat them back then.

I grew up with the NES.

I never bought a SNES because I was too infatuated with the NES, not to mention the fact that I was terribly poor.

I used to play games on my commadore vc20 (the 64's predecessor). But my primary gaming outlet while growing up was the Golfland mini-golf arcade a few blocks from my house.
