Squall & Rinoa

Does anyone know if Squall is odler than Rinoa or Rinoa is older than Squall?I recall my friend saying Squall is younger than Rinoa that I've recall too that I've seen that info before but I'm not sure if I'm dreaming or what...So...guys what is your opinion?

Squall was born in August, Rinoa in March. They're apparently both 17.

Dude, you're talking about Christmas, of course he's kidding. I really didn't get into FFVIII enough to care about Squall and Rinoa, but I did read in the instructions before I played they're both 17, and Sefier's a year older. That's all I got.

Yeah I felt it was a little unrealistic that they were all 17 and 18. I just turned 17, and I could never imagine dealing with the serious situations and decisions they have.

But they were brought up in a military academy most of their life so I guess it makes sense how they're so mature for their age.

Mind you Rinoa sometimes acted like she was twelve. You know those silly bickerings they had on the Owl's Base, and then again near the Timber TV Station?

At least she matured a bit more afterwards. :x

not every teenager has acne, at 17 I had none. A goatee but no acne. No they don't look to old for 17 and also if you paid attention on disc one around the time of the dollet mission by speaking to other candidates and stuff you can learn that at about 21 a SeeD is retired and often joins the military. Martine of Gabaldia Garden had been rumoured to of had an under table deal with the Gabaldian military where failed candidates or those too old for SeeD ended up with Jobs in the G-Army. Possible explanation for G-soldiers with para magic there too.

I agree with Ange Wing, Military sometime changes you into becoming more mature, heh, I'm in the military! And they break you down by basic training and they test your military baring (basically your seriousness) and see if you can withstand other situations. However, it's just a game and the characters are just made to be like that, and Rinoa is a free sprited so she's aloth happier. But the last time I checked, they're the same age.

I think they look like in their late teens, and not all of them are mature, just look at Selphie and Zell. Seifer too, with his omg rebel thing.

17 was a perfect age for Squall and Rinoa. What sucked was when it became a trend and every lead FF character thereafter ended up 17. It made sense in FFVIII, but not in the rest of them.

Honestly I think according to looks they look like they are SAME in age...:eep: To me Laguna is about 27-29...and for me Squall looks like 24-25...:eep: And I agree asians aged around 17-25 they looks almost the same :riiight:

Squall seemed a bit more like 19 to me, but with their lifestyles being different 17 sounds about right. Rinoa was about the same as for looks but her maturity, or at least at the start of the game, was that of like a 13 year old. Good thing that improved later or she wouldn't have much of a fan base at all...wait, scratch that, most of her fan base only cares that she's good looking.

With appearance I would have to agree that they seem a year or two older than as previously identified. I wouldn't say they're passed the early 20's though.

If I met them on the street, I'd peg Rinoa for about 17, and maybe Squall as 19 or 20. Definately not much older.

They might have seemed older to me when I first played the game (I was 17 then), because as a high schooler they seemed grown up to me. However, now that I'm 24, there's no way they're as old as me. No way.
