i saw the scene when penelo is dancing with the silky cloth in some kind of forest in the trailers. Was this scene in the actual game? i'm really looking forward to this but i'm at Phon Coast and still haven't seen it.

Nope, I don't think so.
The only forest you explore in the game is Golmore Jungle, Salikawood and Feywood.. And no such scene in there. Maybe it's a Quickening? She dances in her quickening.

I think you're thinking of Final Fantasy XII: Revanent Wings. A spinoff being developed for the Nintendo DS. See: http://www.1up.com/do/gameOverview?cId=3153675

pic of her dancing: http://media.1up.com/media?id=3036644&type=lg

I don't know how you couldn't have noticed the stark difference in art design between Revenant Wings and this game.

Or perhaps he didn't know that Revenant Wings existed in the first place.

Even in that case, it's clearly a different game.

of course i know what revenant wings is! and i'm a girl.

look at this trailer and don't tell me that it isn't a fmv. penelo is clearly wearing her ff12 clothes yet i've never seen this footage in my game.

Yes, I noticed that as well, though I didn't remember where I saw it.

So, does anyone know now? xD

I was thinking maybe they just rethought her character. A lot of the early info about her made it seem like she would be a Monk/Blackbelt type (like Tifa), and compared her dancing to martial arts. Recently, though, it doesn't seem like this is anymore part of her character, so maybe that is why the FMV was taken out (if, indeed, it was).

but in her character info thing, it described that her hobby was dancing and etc. maybe they didn't have enough room for that fmv to fit onto the game disk :/ it was a good piece of fmv though

i am guessing that that scene comes out towards the end of the storyline of the game.....
if you think about it....penelo would not be dancing in a peaceful forest with a white-silk cloth while there is a kingdom to save and a princess to protect......

anyone who beat the game already able to confirm this? this is just my speculation by the way....

How are there still so many responses postulating that it's late in FFXII when the answer has been given many times that it's from FFXII:RW?

And not to be an ass, but I agree with Riki that the art is so drastically differen't it's hard to even mix the two up. Hell, the RW Penelo is almost difficult to discern as even being Penelo to me.

Maybe you'd know why if you watched the YouTube link. >_>

Edit: Here, I'll repost it:

Because it's been established that the clip is *not* from Reverent Wings. That's why. :p

you just become one after saying all that. if you respect others and actually looked through the thread carefully, then it's hard to miss the link with the footage.

I'm gonna go with it's at feywood because that's past where I'm at and i've already been to all the other woods. if it's not in feywood I would suffice to say that it's gonna be part of the end. and for all those blasting off that it could be in ffXII:RW think about this can a nintendo ds pop off that kind of graphics when at best I'd say the nintendo ds is a portable snes if u can argue that point logically I will concede to it possibly being in ffxii: rw otherwis plz be nice to the other people posting who are kind enough to use some logic

I'll use logic if you promise to use periods, ok?

Super Mario 64 DS.

Plus, that screenshot above is from Revnant Wings (a DS game). The scene in the video is from FF XII, or at least an early version of it. That's the way it is.

i saw the japanese version of the ending already and it wasn't part of it. I'm guessing this part is cut off then since i doubt they'll put extra things in the NA version.

The GBA was a portable SNES, the DS is much more powerful.

That clip from the trailer is not shown in the game, however; and it the DS isn't that powerful. It's likely that it was either removed, or it was never intended to be in the game in the first place--a lot of trailers are like that.
