Are there any games that, no matter how much you play them, you keep coming back to? I've been playing Final Fantasy VI at least once or twice a year forever. It's my favourite game. I used to play Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time a lot, but I don't so much any more.
The one that inspired me to make this thread was Sonic Rush. No matter how much I play that game, it never gets old. I've had it since launch and I've played it a lot since then. I realized that I put it in my DS a month ago and I haven't taken it out since then.
So what games do you keep coming back to?
Chrono Trigger and the original Resident Evil. Great stuff.

Star Wars Battlefront. I can't get enough.

Megaman Legends
Megaman 8
Project Justice
Star Ocean 2
Breath of Fire 3
Sonic 3
Kirby no Kira Kira Kids
Vampire Savior
Final Fantasy Tactics
None of those games gets old to me. Everytime I play them, they are as fun as they were when I first started to play.

actually i can't think of any...i tend to do the opposite, i will buy a game, play it and then sell or trade it and never play it again...i am very shallow when it comes to relationships with video games

I've gotten into the habit of trading in games. I find it more efficient, seeing as how the save on the memory card is the actual proof of completing a game.

...Um, what? People don't play these games over again to prove that they've completed them before, they play them again because they enjoy them.
Anyway,
Mega Man 2 (Bubble Man's stage theme)
Mega Man X (How fast can you clear it this time?)
Final Fantasy IV (Nostalgia and OMG MOON)
Final Fantasy VI (I want my Kitten Hood)
Star Ocean: Till the End of Time (Someday, we'll collect 95% of the Battle Trophies. Someday.)

Ya, but I never watch movies or read books a second time over unless I really enjoy them. Haven't found a video game that has yet to do such a thing. :choc:

3 games come to mind.
1. Ascendency, which is an old DOS game for the PC
2.Civilization 2(this one tops the list)
3. Final Fantasy VII. I was playing RPGS for 15 years before this came out but it has always been my favorite
El Bandito

Super Smash Bros. (N64). I just have it lying next to my TV and it seems every party in my house there's epic SSB battles no matter who actually comes. Even folks who don't play video games seem to be drawn to it. We even made a drinking game out of it.

I usually replay any game I own a lot. Ones with lots of story to absorb get played in obscene amount. The MGS games, Final Fantasy VII-X and I'm already on XII's second run (yeah I've played the old ones only once, I must be ebil), Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross (didn't like it as much but I did enjoy it), Xenosaga, Kingdom Hearts I and II, that sort of thing.
Tales games with GRADE get my vote for best replayability, especially Tales of Symphonia and Tales of the Abyss . Their GRADE shops hold a lot of replay potential, and you even have to play a few times to work up the GRADE to buy everything you want. Then you can put it on a harder difficultly and gogo.

Halo 1, Final Fantasy VII & VIII, the Sonic series, Doom. There are many others I'd like to play more but it's just having time to fit it all in.
Mario Kart 64 is a personal favorite. Me and my friends have a great time with that one. I also love SNK vs Capcom, I can't stop playing it.

3 games, 2 of which ironically (since i prefer rpg's) are beat 'em ups...
Soul blade (ps1) FULLY completed 3 times
Tekken 3 (ps1) FULLY completed 3 times
Sonic the hedgehog (master system) 8 times
tekken 3 is starting to age for me (because of the lip biting slowness) but sonic and soul balde are still a breath of fresh air for me...strange no?

Final Fantasy IX - Rarely.
Zelda: ALttP - *bows*
I'll probably replay the Silent Hill games when I've forgotten all the puzzles.

Baldurs Gate--for PS2. Just cause it's so eay to pick up and start playing, if I'm in the mood to play 2-player.
And yeah Silent Hill. I've probably forgotten the puzzles to 2 by now. Goody!
Does Morrowind count? Yeah it must. I'm always playing that, though.

i think my no #1 pick would be Tenchu: Wrath of Heaven. it's the most recent game which i keep on playing ever since its debut in 2003. i love using the Infinite Items cheat and i feel shameless, because i have beaten the game long ago.

Counter-Strike. It's addicting, fun, especially in ka_ maps and getting knife frags in normal maps. Also, there's lots of fun mods changing the gameplay.
FF series. Perfect RPGs
