Alright, I've frequently encountered strange enemies in FF games who actually SUPPORT my party by casting Cure spells on me all the time.
I always wondered: why?
Are they trying to put me in a false sense of security, or is it just a funny invention?
The first time these enemies appeared was, as far as I know, in FF2: the G. Soul (also known as Screamer).
That monster just keeps throwing Cure, Cure, Cure on my party forever.
Then they come back in FF6, some rabbit-like thingies outside of South Figaro in WoR.
Cure spells again, used on my party.
And so they re-appear once again in FF7: the Two-Faceds in the Corel Prison.
Sometimes their final attack is a Cure 3 spell on my whole party.

Why are the enemies doing this?
I find it really weird.

If you cast Demi on Diablos in FFVIII he casts Curaga on whoever casted the spell.

Probably just to mess with your head. As if FFII wasn't stressful enough. :P

Quick, gimme Elixir!

Adlai Stevenson.

Because they like messing with your head. It's also really funny when you enter a fight where you can absorb all of the elements and never get hit. But it's also even funnier when Setzer is your highest level character because of it; not that I have anything against Sexzer.

It's funny fighting Tiamat in Ulty's castle when your entire party absorbs 100% of fire attacks.

Two-Faced either cure your party, or blow up. Which is why, they're called 2-faced...

I think they might be doing it to convince you to not kill them.

I think they might be doing it to convince you to not kill them.Too bad, I just wait for them to heal my party to the max, and then I kill them. :D
