Ashe Vs Penelo (Mystical)

Im going to make 2 all magic characters that im going to add only magic lisences and augumentations and things of the sort..

In order to do this I need to know who lasts longer and is in the game more beetween ashe vs penelo... I also want to know who you get to use against vayne in the final boss battle..

could anyone fill me in please??



btw.. I did a little research on my own and found out that penelo and ashe are equally suited for mystic chars and are practically the same except penelo has a bit more vitality

You will get Ashe and Penelo in your party at almost the same time and they will remain that way for the entire game. You can use any of the 6 characters, including the final fight with Vayne, throughout the whole game any time you want once they're all assembled, and they get together fairly early. If you mean who is in the game more cutscene wise, that's definitely Ashe.

Ashe has more potential to be a good hybrid, so if you just tie her down with only magic, you will be missing out on some of her melee skills. I went with Penelo because I would rather have her back there casting and bowing then fighting with a sword and shield.

That said, the beauty of this game is that you have so much flexibility on how you use your characters, so either choice you make gives you pretty much equal chance of being successful. Put it this way: you don't have to worry about wiping on the final boss because you chose one of these characters over the other.

Ashe have more Magicks Power, Strength and HP than Penelo but Penelo have more Vitality, Speed and MP than Ashe. I choose Ashe over Penelo, eventhough she's my favourite character.

In my humble opinion, Ashe is better than Penelo. Besides actually existing for a purpose, her stats are superior to me. Let's take a gander at this simplified stat chart I ganked from Arth's FAQ:



HP: Basch > Vaan > Balthier >> Fran > Ashe > Penelo
MP: Penelo = Ashe > Fran = Vaan >> Balthier >> Basch
Str: Basch = Vaan > Balthier > Ashe > Fran > Penelo
Mag: Ashe = Penelo > Vaan > Fran > Basch > Balthier
Vit: Vaan = Penelo > Balthier > Ashe > Fran > Basch
Spd: Balthier > Vaan > Penelo = Fran = Ashe > Basch

So, besides Vaan being ridiculously overpowered at everything (just a delicious side note), we can also see Ashe gets a nice middle-to-higher-end in almost all of them. Penelo has the edge in really not a whole lot.

I like both of them, but I rely on Penelo more than Ashe for the magicks. Ashe is my more physical character, even though she has a few very handy magicks, too.

By the time you hit endgame, especially if you do what I did and equip everyone with the accessory that doubles LP gain as soon as you can, you'll easily have every character with all the magick available. Focused, though, I went with Penelo and Fran first.

Dam that super-sux... went lp farming for like 10 hours but when I progressed I fought the first esper than died..:(
