Ninja or Samurai, for me. I just CAN'T imagine why Z_X likes the White Mage.

Samurai is probably my favorite.

Bare/Freelancer is the best.

Bare with every other job mastered. ;)

Seriously though, Sorcerer/Sword Mage. It's not a practical class for standard traveling, but vs. boss characters it's phenomenal. It's also a nice changeup from standard spell-casting.

I also want to give a nod to the normally worthless Bard job for actually being useful from time to time in this game...or at least the song ability. Requiem and the healing song came in handy often in my game.

I think the best class in the game is Bare/Freelancer, if you've mastered a lot of abilities and jobs. My favorite classes are probably Knight, White Mage, Summoner and Time Mage, in that order.

I know I'm not the only one who appreciates the Thief. The Monk is also great, and the "HP+" skills aren't bad at all.

Thief's supporting abilities are pretty good, if I remember correctly. One of my favorite abilities was the Monk's Brawl/Barehanded. It lets any class attack without a weapon as if the character had the Monk's strength. A problem with a Knight that can cast White Magic is that his magic skills are still quite weak, but with a White Mage that has the Brawl ability, you have a mage that can perform a double fist attack for a lot of damage.

Blue Magic is the most useful magic school on every FF it appears. (yes, that includes FFVI IMO)

Other than Blue Mages? I personally like Chemists (Drink, Mix, Recover and Revive are all useful), Mystic Knights and probably I will love Necromancers when I get my hands on this class.

On a side note, Gladiators - and specially their command Finisher - are overrated and LAME. And Gladiator sprites are fugly. And at least for me, Finisher almost never does Elemental. Mostly I get those "Attempt failed!" or Critical Hits, whch causes good damage, sure, but not enough to... give Finisher to all four characters. @_@

I like the Archer for the Rapid Fire skill and the Oricle for the ABP Plus skill. Tie between those two.

Summoner or Blue Mage. What can be more fun than having a big dragon torch yoru enemies with Megaflare? And blue mages are cool to do that annoting stuff monsters mostly do to you (Flash comes to mind, grr...). Revenge is a sweet thing.

Necromancers are fun too for their nice looking spells, but you get them so late in the game that I barely use them. A shame, really.

1.) Red Mage - master the job and get 2 stright magic attacks
2.) Samurai - may be expensive to use GP to attack high but it sure does come in handy.
