View Full Version : Devil Man Thinking Of Being Sperm Donor

The Devil Man

Okay, this is a serious Topic and the only reason I am not chucking it in EoEo is because later on I have 2 other Topics I wanna put in there.

Your Good Friend Devil Man is thinking of becoming a Sperm Donor.

And the reason he wants to be a Sperm Donor is 1, to genuinely help women have children, and 2, he wants LOTS AND LOTS AND LOTS of children with his beautiful, handsome, stunning good looks to walk the Earth! It will be his legacy to both Mother Nature and the Future of Mankind! :hyper:

But Your Good Friend Devil Man wants to know...

What are the social and moral implications of being a Sperm Donor? What do I have to owe the kiddies? Do I have to be, like, morally responsible for them?

And what kinda impact does it have on the child to know he/she is the product of a Sperm Donor? Does anyone here have friends or relatives that came about because of Sperm Donation?

I really wanna do it! :hyper: I really, really, REALLY wanna have lots of children walking the Earth! In January I am gonna start with 'My Legacy'!

But I might not do it if, like, Devil Man's Children might be traumatised in some way because they are the result of Sperm Donation :( (Even though they will be GORGEOUS, WONDERFUL, FANTASTIC Children, just like their pa!)

Somebody educate Devil Man please on this Topic! Anyone know anything about the moral and social implications of Devil Man's potential Act Of Infinite Kindness To Beautiful Goddesses the World Over?

I think if your children start populating the world, we'll gradually "devolve" into some kind of mad monkey/human hybrid. XD

What are the moral and social implications on being a Sperm Donor?

I dont want my kiddies to be messed up in life :( So what responsibilities does a Sperm Donor have?

You have to masturbate into a cup. That's pretty much as far as your responsibilities go.

Shaun

Let's swiftly move away from the topic about cups. I don't see anything wrong with it if for any reason a couple aren't able to have kids... and there's nothing to lose with Devil Man's sperm; the kids'll be hyperactive 24/7.

Apparently, donated sperm from one person can only be used to get 10 women pregnant so as to avoid accidental incest between children of the same donor.

Riana

I don't think you have to owe anything to the children. Unless they found out that they were the result of a sperm donor, then they'll probably embark on a quest to find their biological father.

Sometimes it's the children that won't be traumatised, you'l probably find yourself in a sensitive phase about it at some point. But at the end of the day it's a good cause.

I think it's wonderful that you want to do this. :)

Really? :( I wanted more then 10 kids. :( Suppose I spread it out. Like, say, 10 in France, 10 in USA, 10 in Jamaica, 10 in Japan? Is that allowed?

And, most importantly, what are the social and moral ramifications of sperm donation?

THAT'S what I really wanna know! What effect does it have on the children? And what rights does a Sperm Donor have to his children? I sure wouldn't mind meeting my kiddies someday!

And, thank you Riana! :)

 :bgl: That's so funny!

I always thought donating your sperm will reduces your sterility. Oh well, I'm wrong. I don't want to, anyway, my sperm is only for my wife. :p

And I think it's good for you, Devil Man, you're cool and talkative type, I'm sure you can talk to every woman perfectly fine. (I'm a very shy person....:( )

Roto13

This is all assuming someone would actually WANT your sperm. :P It's not like you automatically get used just because you've donated.

In conclusion, it should all go to me and Lunar.

Why would you want some random stranger/s giving birth to your baby?! Having a child that you'll never even know, that's awful. I wouldn't let somebody have any of my eggs even if they offered me a billion pounds.

Well, sometimes it is because the man they are with may be infertile and can't impregnate them, hence the reason why they ask for a sperm donor. Which is why I wanna help out. Its not about finding a man. Its about their current partner not being able to make them pregnant,

THAT'S what I really wanna know! What effect does it have on the children? And what rights does a Sperm Donor have to his children? I sure wouldn't mind meeting my kiddies someday!

First off, you are going about this all wrong. You need to ask an actual authority on the subject firsthand and get a rundown on all of the correct information. Go into a clinic and ask to see the paperwork that you have to fill out. And ask if you can view the documents that the mother has to fill out in order to get the donated sperm.

As far as I know, you have no obligations towards the child. I am sure there are waivers signed to prevent the mother from getting child support from the sperm donated, but that is just an assumption based on logic.

As far as the psychological effect that the information would bring onto a child, that is entirely unknown to anyone. People react to information in incredibly different ways based on a variety of different factors. Least of which are how their parents react to situations. The enviroment in which the child grows up in and the ways they are raised, influences in a persons life, those are the sorts of things that influence a reaction such as the one you are asking about.

Also take note that just because you are a supposedly beautiful and intelligent human being, that does not mean the child will be. You must take into account that the mother is going to provide half of the genes that the child will get, and perhaps the number will be higher depending on certain circumstances. Some people look more like one parent, or take more after one parent, than other children do.

Also, having contact with the child would probably be entirely up to the mother until the child has reached the age of adulthood. Then, and only if the child found out through whatever means, would they be able to decide whether or not they want to meet you. I do not think you are privy to any information on the mother, child, or condition of your sperm.

Oh, and even if this limit of 10 does exist, there are always the chance of multiple babies being born. Twins, triplets, quadruplets! Woohoo.

I think it's sweet of you, DevilMan, to do something like this :jess: I'd never donate my eggs though, 'cause even though it'd be a good contribution...it'd just be too weird for me if one day I saw a little boy or girl walking around that looked like me and wasn't my own kid...O.o Therefore, my eggs remain for only my husband to make into babies :)

Then they should adopt instead, because the baby is not going to be their full child anyway.

For some women, the urge to have a child is extremely strong. Extremely, extremely strong. The urge to have a biological child that is. They want to experience child-birth and they want to grow a life inside themselves.

And a sperm donor allows them to do that, while still loving their husband/partner. Adoption isn't always the answer.

If their so concerned with the child being genetically related to them, they should understand that the child may want a father around that their genetically related to. Perhaps they should concern themselves with that, an the many children that are in great need of somebody to take care of them, that they could offer a home to.

Well... yeah, I guess. Thats why I was wondering if Sperm Donors have any rights to their potential kiddies. I sure wouldn't mind seeing my little kids in the future. But at the same time, some children are more then happy with the father who raises them and, well, acts as a father, instead of one who is just biological.

But I still wanna donate.

The chance for a good-looking offspring is certainly much higher with one good and one bad looking parent, than with two bad looking parents!

They're so picky though with sperm donors. Mothers are really picky with IQ, appearance, qualities, etc so they can have the best baby. So good luck with that.

IQ is a terribly hard thing to measure, is it even proved that the intelligence of the offspring varies a lot depending on the parents? The brain is like a muscle, it gets smart from practice :p.

I watched a program once on intelligence and age. Basically there tests had shown that when we are younger that most of our intelligence is more environmentally affected, but as we age our genetics have more and more of an influence. They said it is 50/50. Meaning by the time you are a full adult, half of your intelligence is similar to your parents. They also had a blurb about this sperm bank that specialized with sperm of highly intelligent and successful men.

I do not think I would ever donate my sperm.

As far as I know there is no real ethical or moral issues that I am aware of when it comes to donating sperm. Basically after you give sperm, that is it for your role.

I've considered being an egg donor. I think it'd be neat that another couple could make use of something I don't plan to. (I plan on having kids, but not as many as eggs I have).

Besides, the monetary rewards are, to say the least, sufficient.

I have a pretty good personal history, and my family is relatively clean (a little bit of insanity, but that might be from inbreeding way back when ;])

I'd consider being an egg doner (It's the only way I'd stand a chance at passing on my genes) but last I checked, it involves multiple injections, and that's not my thing... Not to mention my family background is screwed, to put it mildly.

Legally, I'm fairly sure you have no obligations to children born from donated sperm. Moraly, they have families, so I'd say your in the clear there too. though the idea of a little Devil Man (or Woman) scares me. :(

Do you have five legitimate documented sources of that fact?

You can get diseases from anything, but I would hope that a center that involves a long process between donor and donee would know well enough to wipe their instruments off after each use.

yeah it would suck, but it would also suck to be a lady with no eggs who really wants to give birth. Maybe if I was really nice and they were really nice and I signed a "I won't ever make any claims on your child" form, they'd send me a picture every year xD

I would never do that. I'm even concerned of having my own kids. I have a mental illness and that can travel down my family line. Already many of my extended and close family have had mental illness, and having had it myself, I don't want to impose that on anyone, let alone my own children.

I might have to adopt with my wife.
