Ok this is a game with maybe the best cast ever, just wondering who everyones favorite character is? It's a tough choice but I have to with Larsa. I just love his voice and he is in such a great predicament, and delivers some great speechs. Although Balthier delivers by far the best one-liners of the game ("At least we thought to bring entertainment") and the whole leading man thing is great with a great payoff. The arc of Gabranth is probably the best character arc in the game, and reddas whilst with you only a short time, hes great ("I have not said I would give you the midlight shard.") I love Frans voice too.

Best cast. Unquestionably. As someone who's usually drawn to the young, perky girl characters, I thought I'd be loving Penelo the most. But Fran's episode with going berserk and hurting the guards, added with her strange accent, drew me right to her instead. I dig her the most.

Any moogle in the game. lol i love how they made the FFT Advanced moogle skin change. I think they look awesome. I haven't gotten very far into the game yet so mayyybee there will be a kick ass moogle party member.. lol i can dream :mog:

Gameplay wise - Vaan. He is 7 Levels ahead of everybody else and he is extremely strong when using a Katana. Plus, I have him use Heavy Armor and taught him the following Technicks: Steal, Poach, First Aid, Libra, Shear, Gil toss, Horology, Numerology, Sight Unseeing, Infuse. He is the ultimate Warrior in my party:)


Story wise - I have to say Balthier and Fran

Favorite Male Party Member: Balthier, his voice is kinda relaxing. Sometimes I can see him as something of a father figure to Vaan. Especially during a particular scene in Nalbina, and in the end with the Strahl.

Favorite Female Party Member: Fran. From her biography to her bod, it's all pretty tasty.

Favorite Other: Al-Cid, he eased the tension for me during his scenes. I don't really know why, and when he lays down his mack at the end it's hilarious seeing Balthier's reaction. I appreciate Larsa too, and Vossler reminds me a bit of Delita from the original FFT. Plus the way he wielded his greatsword was pretty b'dass.

While I love Balthier's lines and his stance on being practical as opposed to proper, I gotta' give up my vote for Vossler. He was a man so motivated to protect his country that he joined the conquerors in hopes of mediating the hostilities between the conquerors and the conquered to prevent the further loss of life. He did what he believed he needed to do, and he may have been wrong, but he lived for everyone as much as any one person could.

Oddly enough, I'm really liking Vaan-while he is exactly the character the character design made him out to be, he's definately growing up in the game, and getting to watch someone realize they've been a complete wad and attempt to climb out of that pit is a rich and rewarding experience.

In the female cast, it is a dead tie between Lady Ashe and Fran. Fran didn't impress me terribly much until the Mist got involved. Now I'm interested in seeing how far it will go.

Ashe is my favorite character. I think she's cool, and since she's the only party member that has a purpose for being there it makes me like her more :grover:

2.) Her "partner" is Balthier, the sexy hunk of skypirate we've all come to love. Only someone as cool as Fran could bag that mancandy.

3.) She has the best voice in the ENTIRE game. Maybe even the universe. Squeenix should make a CD of just Fran talking for hours...I'd so buy that.

4.) She totally kicks ass. Especially on Shiva when the Mist went all crazy-like. And even in her Quickenings. I mean, no average person could jump and kick that much in stilletos. But then again, she's no average person.

There are numerous more reasons, those are just the most obvious.

Not very far into the game yet, but i gotta give the vote to Larsa. Fights with a sword and dagger combo (gotta figure out how to do that...), has the most room for character development, and, even being a little kid, is still enough of a smooth operator to put the moves on Penelo (who is, admittedly, fairly attractive).

Balthier because of what you find out about him at Phon Coast and his connection to one of the villains towards the end. He's got the smart-ass strife to him, quick wit, but very intelligent and on-top of things. Even at a young age of 22, he's quite the leader of a group of heroes comnig together in the game.

Along with FFVIII, this is the only other FF game where I'm really fond of the entire cast. From their personalities, to their history, to their designs. Though I will always love Fran the most, she's awesome to me.:love: If I was forced to choose a second, it would be Balthier. If only for his witty side commentary.:p

Character wise, it'll have to be Vaan. He's the well-balanced character and able to take a lot of physical punishment. Plus his cool yet spunky persona.

Favorite Male: Balthier. I loved his attitude and accent even before I got to his backstory. If only he'd get a proper pair of shoes.

Favorite Female: Ashe. Mostly because when I have her active I never hurt for MP. But I like her story and voice as well.

I keep wanting to hug Basch and tell him it's all going to be okay though.
