While hanging out on campus earlier today DarkLadyNyara and I began discussing some "Final Fantasy What If's."
There were a few things we had mentioned over the course of the day and I can't remember them all. However, one thing that stands out prominently is the discussion of ineresting Espers/summons. The talk lead to how, basically, all the Espers in FFXII are evil and from there sprouted this question:
"What if certain other villains from previous Final Fantasy games were Espers?"
And so, ladies and gents... Bring your favorite villain into the world of the Espers! Here we go!

I'm assuming the description is supposed to fit within the constructs of FFXII...
I'll start off with someone who will be appearing on this list quite a bit...
Name: Cefca, The God of Madness
Game of Origin: FFVI
Special Attack: Fallen One
Basic Description: Created in the Image of Lios, Scion of Obediance. Cefca was in charge with protection of the sacred artifacts of the gods. Bewitched by the artifact of the goddesses, Cefca delved into the secrets of the gods and gained power equal to theirs. But the secrets of the gods were so great that they would drive him mad. He intended to destroy humanity and the gods for he believed that existence itself was the ultimate "sin". He was defeated and cast downed into the very world he tried to destroy...
His ability, Fallen One has the very heavens open up, as Cefca spreads his wings and allows his enemies to bask in his eternal glory. He lets out a fiendesh laugh (still the 16-bit) as an archaic magic seal appears behind him he begins to gather power for his light of judgement. A small cherub flys down and faces the enemy, throws them a kiss and Cefka let's the heaven erupt with light that destroys all. (Note, in tradition of FFVI, this is an unfocused attack meaning your summoner will be affected as well. Besides, did you think Kefka would take orders from somebody?)

Name: Sephiroth, One Winged Angel
Game of Origin: FFVII
Special Attack: Supernova
Basic Description: A being created from the JENOVA project, he sees himself as the omnipotent being and the rightful heir to the planet. Seeks to be one with his "mother", namely Jenova. Complete with dashing looks and wields the world's longest katana, Masamune, he will not hesitate to kill all who stands in his wake.
Attack Desription: Sephiroth summons a meteor from outside the galaxy using all sorts of mathematical equations. The meteor will enter the Milky Way and into our Solar System. The meteor will crush every planet it connects with and finally hits the sun. The sun will explode, causing a Supernova to burst through the Solar System and denying all existence in its wake.

Much niceness, so far. BTW, I forgot to add one of the most important sections to this. Attack Description!!! What would your esper do when summoned or, in the case of FFXII, what's its Deathblow?
Sorry 'bout that, all.
Name: Sin, Gladiator of Justice
Game of Origin: FFX
Special Attack: Justice Sphere
Deathblow: True Judgment
Basic Description: One of the ancient of all scions, created in opposition to Tidus, the sucker, scion of light. Tasked to watch over the world and detect sins, given the power to destroy places sin. More and more places are clouded by sin and so does he annihilate all of them totally. Through the process, his mind was thinking about sins of the gods. He search the sin of gods and seek to bring annihilation to the gods. Thus, he fell in war with the gods, and was defeated and sent to Ivalice there to be imprisoned for eternity.
Attack Description: As he walk, everything around him was turned to sand. Then, he jump, all of the land are filled with darkness. He collect all of the darkness into his hand and he release it to the land which causes a huge destruction.

I'm pretty sure you can do as many as you want. I plan to. :D
Name: Emperor of Palamecia
Game of Origin: FFII
Special Attack: Cyclone/Starfall (I couldn't choose, so I did both. So sue me. )
Basic Description: He was a ruler who became corrupted by power, and began a campaign for world conquest. When he was killed in the ensuing war, he split his soul in two, and seized rulership of Heaven and Hell. After that stunt, the Gods decided he was a bit too dangerous to leave unsealed. He was locked away in the deepest pits of Hell, supposedly for eternity. (Yeah, sure, that'll happen)
Attack Description: Cyclone- A massive Cyclone appears and wipes out anything in its path. :D
Starfall- A fairly infrequent attack, but devestating when used. He vanishes, and the sky goes dark. Embers begin raining down, then a rather large meteor slams into the battlefield. Anything not outright crushed is severly dammaged by the shockwave. Yes, this includes your party.

Name: Jenova Doom
Game of Origin: FF7
Special Attack: Rapids of time
Basic Description:although jenova was defeated a long time ago in the northern crater, the essence lives on and while the reunion is taking place, a summoner can call upon it.
Attack Description: (attack based on jenovas in game attacks.) jenova dissapears and red and blue, cursed bubbles and waves hit the enemy causing slow or stop. jenova reappears and evapourates the stream with a laser.
hopefull that wasn't too lame.
this one is sort of based of a theory i once had on FF4. in short, zeromus was created because of a being that can appear in a physical form if it can possess enough hate. the hate of zeromus's death was enough to make the monster appear in a physical form. im not sure if its right but i always liked the idea over his hate just turning into a monster for no perticular reason apart from magic. but anyway. no debate on this and i dont think the theory is correct anyway.
Name: The HATE.
Game of Origin: FF4
Special Attack: pain/big bang/cosmic wave.
Basic Description: this summoned creature varies on the strength of the summoners hate. it can appear in many different forms often similar to zeromus.
Attack Description: the attack depends on the strength of the hate.
a weaker form would use pain. it causes fear, negative emotions and disables and sometimes kills enemies.
a normal form would look stronger and use big bang. it does massive damage and weakening status effects as well as fear.
a powerful form that would only appear from a sacrifice from someone as powerful as zemus would appear in the near invincible form he does in FF4 before cecil uses the crystal and can use cosmic wave.
planets and stars alter positions and a much larger scale version of big bang appears. with the targets at the center of the destruction. more powerful than big bang as well as vapouring people, turning them to stone, making people go insane, all of these and more. the universe is put back in its normal position after the destruction.
only true heroes can hope to beat this form
phew. well that was a powerful one.
i might think of more later for FFs that no one has done yet.
Can we just use a non-FF-villain name?
btw, since this is following FFXII, there should be a: Created in opposition to [INSERT NAME HERE], scion of light.

It's not based on or following FFXII, it's just that FFXII having evil espers inspired the concept.

You'd realize that I know what I'm talking about.:rolleyes2

I think DarkLadyNyara pretty much cleared up the subject. However, I'm going to make it that much clearer so there are no more misconceptions or assumptions (the latter of which spur me to violence on numerous occasions against the one making the assumptions)...
This is a "what if" thread. Yes? I mentioned what inspired this thread. Yes? I deliberately did not specify a basis, so as to allow those who post here to flex some measure of creative muscle. Yes?
Then, please... try not to assume so much about the topic without at least asking the one who created the topic to clarify things. If makes folks look misinformed. I could be a real prick and let my temper get the better of me, but I'll just leave it at that.

Name: Sephiroth
Game of Origin: Final Fantasy 7
Basic Description: The wayfarer of the cosmos riding upon a vessel consumed with darkness, this platinum-haired assassin descends upon his targets with disturbing skill, a murderous gleam in his turqoise eyes and a weapon as long as it is keen. In his wake, he leaves destruction and the image of his ebon trenchcoat and singular, feathered wing as the last fading memory of one passing unto oblivion.
Special Attack: One-Winged Angel
Attack Description: The view of the battle pans skyward as the clouds above swirl about becoming an ever-blackening spiral. When the spiral opens, you see the starry sky becoming enveloped with a black mass and from that mass, Sephiroth dives at top speed, impaling his opponent with the fabled Masamune. Upon landing, he rips into the enemy party with numerous, precise and brutal slashes while utilizing the life energy of Jenova to power his assault. For the finish, he extends his wing and rockets back into space, allowing METEOR to fall upon the battlefield unhindered.
By the way, pardon the double post, every one. I just wanted to clear a few things up before actually getting on to posting my "Esper."

Before I post my Esper, I was wondering: What are the Espers in FFXII? Are they related to the Espers of FFVI? The answer may be really obvious and explained in the first few minutes of the game, but it still hasn't come out yet where I am.
Name: Seymour, Herald of Calm
Game of Origin: FFX
Special Attack: Oblivion
Basic Description: After watching death assail his family, he sought to attain the power to wreak havoc in revenge. He enticed the people of his world with his tremendous power, while working behind the scenes to gain more, and more. Even after his death at the hands of a small band of heroes, his powerful will kept his soul inside his body. Feeling the lack of anguish death brought him, he then aspired to bring death to everything, to free them from their suffering. He might have succeeded, but the heroes sealed him away from their world forever.
Attack Description: He wipes the battlefield, turning it into a plane of darkness. He then blasts all opponents with several powerful elemental spells, before unleashing his piece de resistance; a multicoloured ball of energy that forms around the target and sets off several explosions.

They are not at all related to the FFVI espers. IIRC, they're more based off the tactics summons.

Most of them are based off the Lucavi and Totema from FFT and FFTA. As a treat though, three of them are former final bosses from previous FF games. Zeromus, Exodus (X-Death), and Chaos. The Epsers actually have some back stories. The three "guest" summons back stories tie them to the world, but most tend to be a twisted retelling of the their motives in their respective games.

Created by the gods in order to destroy that which was not needed in the world, in accrodance to the cycle of death and rebirth. He saw himself as nothing more than a pawn to the gods and rebelled, trying to gain power equal to theirs. Thus he was cast down by the gods in his rebellion.
Attack Description: (Only capable of performing if the summoner casts bezerk on the summon, thus putting him in "trance" state. When health is 30% or less, the spell is activated.) Kuja floats gently in the sky as the moon appears behind him. Kuja a red aura envelopes him, it's power trembles the earth and the moon above him begins to crack. The moon explodes and shifts back to Kuja who raises his hans to to his mouth as he let's out a boastful laugh. The shards of the moon, still glowing with Kuja's aura stop in movement and begin to fall down in a meteror shower upon his enemies.
I'll do an older character next, probably Golbez...
