Has there ever been a time that you went to such lengths to achieve something that you were a little ashamed of yourself? Did you hurt someone or did you just make an ass of yourself?

Well let me answer the question then. In the last thread I made I asked for everyone to support my husband's band by voting for them in an awards thing they've been nominated for. Though I felt like a sad begger, it worked out very well. For Outstanding Punk Band they're winning by quote a bit, and for Outstanding Female Vocals they're winning by a few votes.

However, the poll for Oustanding Female Frontperson was not working, so everyone who voted at that time did not count. As such, they are behind.

So now I have to make an ass of myself again and ask that people re-vote for poll 22b: Outstanding Female Frontperson. Or all three. :D

Sooo...

Item 12. Outstanding Punk Band - Vote TOKYO SHOWDOWN (http://www.rockcitynews.com/awards/ballot06.html)

Item 22. Outstanding Female Vocals
~AND~
Item 22b. Outstanding Female Frontperson - Vote RACHAEL/TOKYO SHOWDOWN (http://www.rockcitynews.com/awards/ballot06b.html)

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v54/ShlupQuack/tslol3.jpg (http://www.tokyoshowdown.com)

Rachael, the person in 22 and 22b, is on the left.

You can hear their music on www.TokyoShowdown.com (http://www.tokyoshowdown.com) or their MySpace (http://myspace.com/tokyoshowdownca).

Don't forget to respond to the topic. And if you mention you voted this time I'll leave you a usernote, which I do not often so, so it's like treasure or something.

...I feel like such a dirty whore.

I've done that quite a lot. Especially when it involves getting revenge.

I voted for whatever you told me to vote for.

Not as hard as a usernote from me, though.

I voted. :p And I'm sure I've done things in desperation I was very ashamed of later, though I can't remember any at the moment. I've probably cheated during a game or something and felt bad because winning wasn't really that important. :p

...I feel like such a dirty whore.
I'm sure BJ enjoys that. ;)

Oh yeah. :rolleyes2 I still need a usernote from you. As well as every Admin and CK that hasn't posted in my usernotes yet.

I voted on this deal, good luck with it.

I've been in desperation plenty of times, it's just hard to think of an example. Everyone's done stuff in desperation they wish they could take back. Everyone.

Yes, normally what I do involves whoring my forum.

I voted by the way. I'm a fan of Tokyo Showdown anyway. :)

Plenty of usernotes? You'll never get enough from me. I know you print them out and eat them so they'll forever be a part of you.

I'll vote if you make me an admin.
I tried but on my way to the glowing red Unne Phone I got shot in the back of my knee. I'll never run again...

Yeah, I know, I saw you rockin' out to the Tokyo Show. Wiggling your hips like Rachael does after a couple shots. I see it.

I voted, then I tried to listen to the music on MySpace but there was no sound. My speakers probably aren't on or something but its 12:40 and I can't be bothered to press the button. Plus I have to be up for a job interview tomorrow so I'm going now.

Toodles.

Punk is dead, why are there awards for a dead genre?

Shlup
12-01-2006, 01:49 AM
Punk scene isn't thriving, but it isn't dead. And punk music certainly isn't dead.

Tokyo Showdown isn't pure punk though. I don't even know why they've been classified as punk. Neither do they, actually.

Classic punk doesn't even exist anymore. That only last about two years between 1977 and 1979.

Shlup
12-01-2006, 01:53 AM
Uh, yeah, that's why it's called "classic."

I have already voted. :jess:

Whilst I have made an ass of myself, I cannot recall doing so in order to get something I wanted. Generally I get what I want through being really, really, really clever. Or simply playing the system.

If I had learning disabilities I'd get a whole ton of money to buy a retardedly swish piece of computing equipment, though :(

Like bumping staff members' threads for them, so they'll make me an admin in return? No, never done that.

Just message Rachael on Tokyo Showdown's MySpace. She's the only one who checks it. That's how I usually contact her.
