When i was a small lad, if i used too much squash in my glass or put too much jam on my toast, my gran would scold me and say something like "you've got enough there to feed a small army!"
Ever had anyone say something like that to you? How silly!
Anyway, i was thinking....
Just how many people does it take to make a "small Army"?

It would probably only take one, fat fleshy person.

IF this is a literal question here is a literal answer. A perfect platoon in the US Army would be 17 people. Mulitply that by 4 which gives you 68 and add 1 for a commanding officer so 69. I say that is a good enough small army.
Now on the other hand....those ghosties in pacman are only 4 of them and they seem to be a small army.

I get that off my dad for using too much ketchup / jam / butter etc. I also get "You want some dinner with your ketchup".
Assuming that a small army is akin to a small angle, if we make a small angle approximation, we can get sina = a. This only works for angles of less than 10 degrees, so I'd estimate that a small army is no more than 10 people. :p

Where exactly are you getting your numbers? Platoons usually consist of thirty or forty soldiers each.

Ya, 17 is usually a section or something but lesser at least for the military in my country.

It would take 8 strappers (Strapping men).
It depends on the size of the other army! :jess:
