IMO, the Ragnarok (FF8) for being the coolest looking!

Runner up: Highwind (FF7) because you can carry chocobos on it! :choc:

I personally thought the Invincible from FFIII was pretty awesome. It had it's own magic and weapon vending machines (classic), a fat chocobo, a place to rest, but not only just that it had it's own cannons so when you got into aerial battles it would shoot at the enemies on the first round and injure them a bit. Ah that was a fun airship to play around with. Nautilius was fun also with it's speed.

FF IX's, that last ship rocked, I think it was called the Invincible, but I'm not sure.

Nope, it was Hilda Garde III. But, in my opinion, it is the best ship. ;)

:save: Selena

There was a ship after that you get for the last part of the Game, the same one that wiped out the summoner village and destoryed Alexander.

the Ragnarok, but it's quite slow and there is so much wasted space...

FF1 airship. It was fast as heck, never crashed into monsters, had it's own awesome quest, had good graphics and a decent sound track, and, best of all, used to be piloted by the ancient SKY WARRIORS. I mean, flying that thing has to give you a real sense of destiny and importance. Nothing like epic to rule out amenities.

That's the Invincible. Cool airship too :D

The Lunar Whale from IV was cool too. I mean, its a whale! That can go to the moon!

I posted the following in another thread a bit over 3 months ago:

The Invincible from FF III (duh!). Free Inn+Fat Chocobo = Pwnage.

I agree. The Lunar Whale is quite close too with a free inn, Fat Chocobo and an ability to take off to the Moon, but I think the Invincible wins because of free inn, weapon/armor/spell shops, Fat Chocobo and the cannon, which is somewhat useless but it's still quite cool. :) FFVII's Highwind isn't bad, either. It has people to talk to, a free save point / inn and you can also bring your Chocobo along with you to the airship.

The least favorite is probably the first airship you get in FFIII, the one which you crash into a boulder. You can't do much with it, and it can't even cross mountains. Other than that, I didn't really like FFVI's Blackjack, although I think Falcon was neat.

Definitely Invincible from FFIII. It has a free "inn," a full repertoire of shops, a Fat Chocobo for item storage, and a cannon that fires on all enemies at the beginning of every random encounter. And beyond the practical assets, it has a unique aesthetic appeal: up to this point in the series, airships had always been nothing more than flying boats (or flying submarines, in the case of the Nautilus), but the Invincible looks like a flying city. It doesn't even land; when the characters exit, they just take a ladder down to the ground, leaving it to hover constantly like the badass it is.

Yeah, that's also great about the Invincible. Another special thing about it, which I don't think has been mentioned yet, is that it can cross small mountains. This may sound totally stupid to you, but if you've played FFIII, you should know how hard crossing mountains is, and Invincible is the only airship in the game that can somewhat do it. :)

The airship from FFV was a ship, airship and submarine all in one. That was awesome.

The Blackjack from FFVI.

While it has an inn and item shop, it also has a casino, which is the definition of cool.

Invincible(FFIX) FTW. A spaceship that can destroy entire cities, you cannot want more than that.
And talking about the Invincible, i heard that Ark was a prototype of it. Can someone confirm this?

The ragnarok was a spaceship wasn't it?

Mines is the original Hilda Garde from IX or the theatre ship.
Ifrit looks cool in XII too.

The Lunar Whale... It's a spaceship that looks like a whale and travels to the moon!!! I mean come on, you know drugs had to be involved during it's conception.

Also the Black Jack, cause it had a casino.

I've always found the existence of shops a bit odd on airships. Kinda in the "I own the damn thing, why am I giving it money? What does it even NEED money for?" sort of way.

But yes, as far as favorites, it's difficult to say. I'll get back to you on that.

The lack of reasoning behind onboard shops is overshadowed by their sheer utility.

Lunar Whale...I mean cmon it goes to the moon...It can prolly go to mars if there was a sleeping bad guy living there...Plus is has a talking crystal...That and it looks cool.
