How would I create a Back up of my OS?

Why should you need to, isn't your personal data more important? You should be able to reinstall the OS with whatever installation disks/hidden partition/method your computer came with :p

Due to a rip off and robbery, I have no Disc right now, nor does it look like I'll be able to get it back, and nor will my brother who needs it to get his computer running. I'll just get an exterior Hard Drive for all my personal stuff anyway.
