So, how old were you all when you first started drinking alcohol?
I was 15. However, my parents let me taste a sip of beer when I was 7, just to scare me away from it, and it worked!

It became more of a regular thing and not something by chance when I was sixteen.

I was 15 too when I first had a proper drink and not just sipping a bit off my dad's pint. But I was never really that much of a drinker (it took me 2 years to get through a 12 pack of Smirnoff black ice ). Recently though I've been drinking regularly, much to the chagrin of my wallet :D

I drank a lot in the beginning, because it was the cool thing to do, and everyone else did it. Yes, peer pressure indeed did get to me. Later, I started drinking less, and nowadays I don't ever actually get drunk, I just get a cider now and then because it simply tastes good.

Peer pressure was why I first drank, especially being underage it was one of the coolest things to do in school. I'm more of an alcopop kinda guy (stuff like Smirnoff and WKD) and just one every now and then is tastebud heaven for me :p.

I was sixteen, but didn't start heavily drinking until I was eighteen -- because I like it.

I go through long, unhealthy phases with alcohol. I'll go five months completely sober, and then be a total slosh for the next month. It's ridiculous.

I started drinking semi-regularly at 16/17, although I had drank at Christmas before then. I gave up at 19, because I didn't like it.

14 (I think) was the first time I got drunk, but I didn't start more "regularly" (even though I still don't drink very regularly or excessively) until I was about 16.

I started drinking at 13 at my mates birthday party. I remember having four stubbies of stella and just wobbling around the place laughing. Anyway, I started fully drinking when I was 15. Damn, i'd hate to see what my liver looks like now.:(

I started to drink when I was 13, which is actually pretty normal in Denmark.

I had sips of parents drinks and beer + clamato juice and wine + 7Up when my parents drank for most of my life, I really drank at 18, and a few times until 19, and now, until last night, my fridge has always been more alcohol then anything else, but it got emptied last night, so now ive got no more, =(.

So a more coherrent, not drunk, response would be something like "At 18 was when I first got drunk, and I started to semi regularly drink in my first year of university, and now I drink more regularly, a quart or two a month maybe more."

I first go drunk at 15, then not again until I was 18. I've just started uni so I've been going out more, even though Huddersfield is no where near as good as Manchester. I've only gotten drunk about 5 maybe 7 times in my life and the last time was by accident. I didn't think shots were that strong so I had 9 or 12 of them, I can't remember. I'm not drinking now anyway, I really don't like it. :D :D :D

13 was the first time i drank, and got drunk. I started drinking regularly enough at 14 (when i went to disco's or whatever). But i mean drinking is really common in ireland, and all the rest of my friends were drinking the same ammount as me too. I get drunk everytime i go out cos' it's fun when your with a group of friends. I am alot more responsible with my drink intake nowadays though, when i was younger i wouldn't know my limit. Talk about a mess. :p

I starting to drink very occasionally starting at age 14, on a "once every two years" basis, usually on holidays. At 18, I snuck out of the house to hang with friends, and then got my first state of real drunkenness. It was great, but couldn't be bothered too much with alcohol until late last year, when I used alcohol as a way of celebrating. Now I get plastered once every two weeks or so. I would drink more of my budget allowed it. :(

I stated drinking at 14, but just rubbish like Cider and Alchopops and not really regularly. I didn't discover the beaty of beer, shots and spirits until I was 15.

I've never drunk more than a sip of alchohol and I never plan to drink more. It could cause problems with my tendecy for mood variation, it's quite calorific, and it disrupts a fun party by needing a drive home. It can be addicting too; I remember sipping wine and wanting more of it. If my parents hadn't been around I might have been tempted to drink more of the bottle. Not interested. There are too many negative aspects that come along with alchohol consumption.

I have yet to drink. My parents had always let me take a sip of whatever they are drinking. (BTW rum and Pepsi is nasty and I do not know how my dad can drink it). I have had Caluha or w/e it is called last Christmas with some milk, but could not finish it because it was too sweet. I also had the equilavent of two glasses of cheap bubbly white wine and I felt sick after that. I have tried other things and actually liked the taste (like beer) but I just simply choose not to drink.

I think I took my first drink at about 10 years old or so. And then I stayed away from alcohol until I was 17, when my friend and I decided it would be a good idea to chug half a bottle of vodka each. I haven't touched any since that day and I probably won't for awhile. I don't like alcohol.

100 proof peppermint schnapps in my friend's basement at 17 years old. It tasted like candy and I didn't know what 100 proof actually meant! And then I had the only hangover of my life.

I'll be 23 in a couple weeks and I've never had a sip of alcohol. It just never interested me.

My 21st birthday was spent drinking Mountain Dew and playing Starcraft.

I thought that when I turned 21 I'd drink alot more, but oddly enough that's not the case. I only drink when I go out to resturaunts. Oddly enough being legal to buy drinks just isn't as fun as trying to smuggle drinks via friends.

Drinking just doesn't interest me.

My first real decision to try was when I was 13 or 14 years old.

But I used to steal drinks from my dad's beer all the time when I was between 1-3.

I've drank regularly at the dinner table for years now. With friends probably in the last three years. I enjoy the good beer/ale/liquor in moderation.

Been sipping since I was 7 years old, didn't start really drinking until I was 14 or 15. Now, after being legal for a few years, I can say it was more fun before I was legal.

I have never been drunk though (never saw the point) and prefer my drink's in moderation. But I do love my alcohol. I can't stand "fruity drinks" and prefer my ales and lagers. ;)

I don't know when it was, probably around 15, me and my buds snuck around an island on New Years, found a boat where drunks were all passed out, and stole hundreds of dolars worth of Champaigne.

I don't remember much of what happened after that, but, apparently, none of us were arrested.

I don't drink much at parties or when i go out, but...

Jack Daniels is the best thing EVER.
I just like drinking it, every night, while I work or play or do whatever. A bottle of Jack and coke or on the rocks, or warm from the bottle, whatever. No headaches, fast buzz, easy to fall asleep.

I'll advise anybody to drink a glass of Jack every night.

Never drink before 10!

The first time I got extremely drunk was maybe eleven or twelve. It was a twice a year sort of thing. Then at thirteen it was an every other month thing, now I'm fourteen and it's like a rarely ever thing.

Meh, about 6 or 7 I think. They start us early over here :D (your parents can legally give you a small amount of alcohol at home from about age 5 I think in the UK)

Semi-regular drinking as soon as it was legal for your parents to buy you alcohol in a pub (about 15/16 - the laws have changed now so it's 18 only AFAIK)

First time buying my own drink (illegally) at 16 at lunchtime, the physics class afterwards was so much more tolerable.

Regular drinking (every week) since 17. I never got ID'd, but I do now (and I'm 24)

When I was seven, at a Christmas party, I begged my mom to let me try the wine that she had in her glass. She gave me a very, very small sip, and I hated it. I ran crying to my dad about what my mom gave me to drink. I've never had any since.

I started drinking when I was about 14. I stopped when I was 16 and smoked a lot of weed between 16 and 18, where I started drinking again.

Now I probably drink way too much but I'll probably get bored of it sometime soon, it's already getting to the point where I go to the pub and someone asks if I want a drink I'll have a half pint then drink water the rest of the night.
