Ciddies Speeches

I've decided to try and start a new Ciddies Tradition. I dont' think we did this last time, but here it goes any way.
I noticed after about the first quarter of the ciddies people stopped sayint much about the speaches, most speeches weren't even given any Credit. Since this isn't a Live award show, the writers don't know if people enjoyed their speeches. Being a writer myself I love it when people enjoy my work, it's the reason I write. So here, lets Congragulate all of the Speech writers and their amazing work at this years Ciddies.

If I get the Energy I'll get around to posting up all the others Speeches so you won't have to look back through the other Thread for them all.



I know its double posting, but the other writers should be able to see how people thought of their speeches. So, withough further adieu, the speaches of the Christmas Ciddies 2006.

Only one person could be able to win this award. I myself can barely write the speech for it. For example…. What the hell does MLT stand for? Well I can hear the crickets chirping… no one laughed at that joke did they?

Ah, well. I’d like to start by listing the nominees Christmas, DK, Dr Unne, edczxcvbnm, Lost Number, Martyr, nik0tine, Psychotic, Quin 'n' Tonic, Raistlin, Roto13, Vincent, Thunder God and, theundeadhero are all rebellious enough to get here, and in my opinion they all deserve it. They are all regular posters, and really give EoFF a great boost in its rebellious feeling.


The thing about this ciddie is you have to be a combination of all of the awards before it. You have to be able to post with the best of them, but still be funny, and have talents of your own. Not to mention it would take a criminal mastermind to rebel against these mods and admins *cough* Leeza *cough*. You have to tiptoe around the line of what is and isn’t acceptable. You have to be charismatic, and cunning… especially cunning. To win this award you have to be unique. You can’t just have ordinary posts, people need to be able to look at your post and say, “Yep that’s _____ alright.” Not everyone can do this.

Most of all though you have to be a leader people have to want to follow you. I know that 75% of the people that voted in this didn’t take it seriously, but this ciddie is more of a, who would you follow, type of ciddie. You have to make your own path and put huge billboards everywhere else leading others to follow your path as well. You need to put your soul into every little thing you put on EoFF and love it while you do it.

I know that this is one of the ciddies that is taken a bit less seriously but I personally see it as a ciddie separating the leaders from the followers. So as I stand on this imaginary podium making a complete ass of myself, I want you to look at all of the nominees, and think of a reason that you would follow each and everyone of them…. Personally I wouldn’t follow any of them but they got here so someone must be willing to :p. Remember who you voted for now because we're about to announce the winner…



The origins of this award go back quite far when our eleven strapping young nominees gave into the curiosity of seeing the latest porn flick that had bizarrely only been given a U rating. 'Free Willy' as it was called, had explicit content written all over it especially what with it's teeming cast of unknowns, how they were to be misleaded.

The candidates had to endure 107 minutes of torturous second-rate acting and incoherent whale-babbling without subtitles before finally getting to see what they came for, full-throttled baring in the first degree. Only problem was, there was not a single sight of human flesh. Feeling cheated at having been crudely ripped off and deprived of the climax they were expecting these poor folk teared up like never before. Seeing the infamous scene brings back harsh memories for all concerned but most especially for one...



Okay, let’s all just come out and admit it: We’ve all gotten our fingers trapped in these stupid bamboo tubes at some point or another in our lives. Some see them as a metaphor for life (seriously, I have heard this), and others see it as a fun way to annoy someone. Whatever their purpose, a person who can’t get their fingers out it usually considered not that sharp (of course, if they were sharp they would simply cut their way out and be fine). Therefore, this Ciddie is a celebration of other people’s perceived stupidity, given by people who are miles away from them. Real mature guys, let’s pick on the slow kids.

Anyway, let’s see who we have here. I Took the Red Pill could easily have trouble with these Asian torture devices, though that all depends on what type of pill we’re talking about here. Jigsaw is apparently a complicated character, and so may over-think the whole process. I’m not if Norway has Chinese finger traps in Norway, so Levian may already have an “advantage” in this Ciddie. Loony BoB seems like he would try to solve it using Excel and a ton of charts and graphs, but would he succeed? I don’t know. Old Manus would just respond to the toy by posting the “It’s a trap!” image and lol. Owen Macwere could definitely draw a finger trap well, but could he escape one is the question. Psychotic’s only hope would be if his walrus was nearby by to cut the trap with it’s tusks, but that could happen. I honestly have no clue as to what Quin 'n' Tonic would try, but it probably wouldn’t be pretty. Rye may be able to charm the dastardly trap off with her singing voice. I can certainly imagine sephirothishere attempting to use ellipses, but his success is uncertain. Shiny’s freaky signature might succeed in scaring away the trap, I mean, look at it. Finally, Bert TrowaBartonIV ^_^ would probably try and feed the finger trap lost of pastries in order to fatten it up and make it easier to escape from.

Of course, this is all just speculation. If I know who would really be successful in their escape from this dreaded fate, I would have told you and saved time. But, like a Chinese finger trap, you and I are stuck in the darkness of not knowing who won. Of course, the more we struggle, trying to guess and/or bribe Ag for the answer, the more we are left to our fruitless speculations. And just like the real finger trap, if we only think clearly and take our time, we’ll realize that it is really quite simply to escape this trap: Just wait five to ten minutes for Award Guy to announce our victor. See, it does apply to real life.

Umm, no. I refuse.


Every forum has its characters that everyone just loves. Be it their beard, manliness, or their love for the Lions. But who would go so far as to do everything in their power to vote for our favorite pirate avataring, Sapphiresea lovin', and just-plain awesome former Administrator?

Just as a football team has its die-hard fans, so must its fans have their own following. Who would go so far as to cast their only say to support some Real Santa Love? Maybe it's Jesse1, or Meat Puppet, EoFF frequenters? One could always guess that RSL is hiding something from us, in that deep, forgotten history of the Archives, some horrible relationship involving Dr Unne, Rye, and a shockingly green chain whip? Fellow Staffers, Psychotic, rubah, and fire_of_avalon? Hell, for all we know it could be RSL himself casting in this infallible vote for AWESOMESAUCE, or even Loony BoB with his devious access to AG...

Maybe we'll never know. Maybe AG won't ever tell. But something tells me that it won't be the last we see of this mysterious person.

Here, I found it with no help from AG at all, no siree.

The award that is always true, MLT win a ciddie for the first time, has an array of candidates. Ranging from the peculiar Veteran Giga guess, who’s been here for who know’s how long, has an array of tricks up his sleeve. Will he try to bribe the voters with his famous Giga points, or run a fair race? Yeah, like that’ll happen. The likes of Alive-man and Lady Yuna could be fierce competition, or at least Alive man could, no one really remembers Yuna anyway. Same goes for that Sephiroth person here, but I digress from my point. The real bout, however, seems to be between the master of Paint and all things hateful, Christmas, and the one all male chauvinistic pigs hope to one day be like, the third person speaker known as Devil man. One has had a gaining popularity and over time and the other with a sudden burst of popularity almost instantly after joining. Can the one call Christmas obtain her reward for all this time, or will her dreams of a Ciddy be dashed again by a mere upstart? Will one of the others pull from behind and overtake them with a surprise underdog victory? Will anyone care enough to read my speech? All shall be revealed with the unveiling of Most likely to win a Ciddie for the first time.


when I wrote this, I was under the impression that MLT Succeed would come before MLT Fail. AH well. This one's not that good.

Contrasting success is failure. Nominated for this award we have some of EoFF's supposedly most maligned members, mainly marked by the fact that EoFF thinks these guys (no girls on this list, oddly enough) are failures, supposedly at life? Interesting inclusions in the nominations for this award are a current staff member, a former staff member, and an accomplished composer (by EoFF's standards, which are admittedly not very high). In my opinion, this presentation fails to match up to my others. What does EoFF think on the failure issue? Let us see!

As sad as it is, even Eyes on Final Fantasy must have rules that are enforced with the iron fist of the Shinra. Because of this, we have seen, over the ages, many classic members to be banned. Whether it be ridiculous spammers, like Primus Inter Pares or Hoorj, or great legends, like Linus or Baloki. As a banned member myself, I have seen and been involved in the repercussions that the Eyes on Final Fantasy staff face when banning popular members.

Banned members are usually banned for reasons that are undisclosed to the general public; which usually starts the occasional rumor here and there. Reasons for being banned have gone from the outright suicide bans ( i.e. where the member does something deliberately against the rules) to just random other things: second accounts, spam, being a general pain in the arse, and so forth. What is positively certain is that, when actually questioned, nearly all bannings are legitimate and cannot be argued with.

This bi-annual ciddies nominees bring a surprising mix to the equation. Some actively seek to be banned, others just contribute to nonsense, and others just try to get under the skin of members and annoy staff. Who can say whether or not the winner will actually be banned sometime in the distant future, and for that matter, who is to say whether or not one of the nominees will be banned prior to the announcement of the winner.

One this is certain - over the years, the banned at Eyes on Final Fantasy have become quite accumulative. As I recall the banfest 2006, I remember a time when bannings were joked and laughed at and I never thought it could happen to me, but be wary, the Eyes on Final Fantasy staff (especially that Daniel "Loony BoB" Peter Towns character) are blood thirsty beasts out for carnage and will stop at nothing to enforce the rules and regulations set forth in the terms of agreement.

However, being banned is not all that bad; one can still enter chat and cause mayhem, as well as be remembered as a legend, although not many are. But hey, look on the bright side, in two years, one can appeal a banning and maybe come back; but I wouldn't bank on it.

So without further ado, This year's nominees for Most Likely To Be Banned are:

Alastair|UK - A member who contributes to spam and makes little jabs here and there at staff.

Cruise Control - Traditionally known as BBomber, is a master of the short response that holds little validity and some might consider bits and pieces of spam.

Devil Man - A member who actively sought out being banned. Why, he even made this thread ( http://forums.eyesonff.com/showthread.php?t=97935). Well, it just so happens that this member actually was banned, so he can't win Most Likely To Be Banned anymore. FAIL! Honorable mention for screwing up the ciddies though.

Dreddz - Someone who has an incredible hate for "fanboys" and has no problem telling it, Dreddz keeps his posts short and sweet, but he has no qualm about belittling other members.

Lindy - An advocate that no one reads posts in the Eyes on Each Other section of the forum. Lindy is also no stranger to telling just how he feels to other members.

Quin 'n' Tonic - A member with a clever name, probably an alcoholic, not to mention that they are obsessed with Dr. Boskonovich. Not to mention that he once helped an old lady cross the road, only to steal her handbag... Next time you touch my grandmother, I'm coming after you.

Roto13 - Why this member is on here is beyond me, and after some quick research, I discovered no reason, but perhaps staff nominated him out of hatred, or a conspiracy of members out to get him.

sephirothishere - A member who considers me a "coolish" banned member certainly can't rest well with staff. No wonder he was nominated. Everyone knows that I am a taboo subject, much like banned members in general. He does, however, have ambition to make an RPG.

udsuna - I think the comments to lovehurts in this thread ( http://forums.eyesonff.com/showthread.php?t=92446 ) says it all. RUDE, Just the way we love it.

Well, hi there guys. First time for me to write a Ciddies speech, good thing that I don’t have to read it out load. ^^”

Ehm, anyway, back to serious business. I want this speech to be a success.

Soooooo, yes. This is the cutest couple award, such a nice thing to vote for. I see that EOFF is full of cute people who are couples themselves which only proves that EOFF is a great family gathering place for everyone. It is full of love and caring.

So those who are with us this half of the year are:


ButTheToncho & Shulp Quack: I honestly don’t know who is ButThePoncho but I see Shulp Quack a lot. Anyway, let’s wish them luck in their friendship and in the Ciddies.
Cassiopeia & hero Yuy NWZC: These two were nominated in the previous Ciddies, at that time they were not so known. I think they are better known now, and they both are truly cute, so good luck as well our friends.
Del Murder & Miriel: Wow, these two rocks, they were the winners of the previous Ciddies and it is really good to know that they are still together (most people like to break up fast these days). Ehm, Nice to see them still around and known, so good luck too.
Hsu & Rubah: hehe, well, I can’t imagine the forum without these two. They both add some colour to the grey shades and bring smiles to the lips. I also think they are both cute and dandy. Open road before you guys.
Loony BOB & Smittenkitten: Oh, we came to these two. They came second place in the previous ciddies. They both been together for quite a time and still seem, er… deep involved. Let’s all wish them good luck. J
Marshall banana & Necronopticous: Sigh, I am sorry that I don’t know you guys, but something is certain that if they weren’t cute they wont have been nominated, correct?. So Huge luck to you both. :D
Raistlin & Rye: The last to cutest couples. I know nothing of this relationship, though I know who these two are. Well, Good luck homies. ;)

Sooooooooooo, all these are so great. Let’s wish them luck in their friendships more than in the Ciddies.



Let's face it, we all need help. A LOT of help. Luckily there's someone here who's sick enough to put up with us and give us all the help we need, and sometimes more help than we need. In fact, this one time, I was trying to change my tire, and they came over to help, but I told them I had i tunder control, but they said that they really needed to help. So I said fine, hold the hubcap while I take off the lugnuts. So they held the hubcap and I took off the lugnuts. But when I went to get the spare tire, I accidentally knocked over the hubcap and sent the lugnuts flying. And do you know what that helpful person did? No, they didn't help, they cussed! :eek: Can you believe it? Of wait, that was <i>A Christmas Story</i>, never mind.

Anyways, the most helpful member this time around will be revealed soon...



The techy award, where we vote for who the most helpful computer geek is. This year we have to choose from all of the well-known techies... and Rye.

cl_out: the robot! Always delighted to give helpful suggestions followed by a green tongue smilie.

Dr Unne: Not the most active, but has been around forever and knows his stuff. Known for his regular rants about Internet Explorer and Windows. Also gives the most helpful advice for getting rid of viruses on Windows.

o_O: I didn't even know this guy was a big techy here, so I had to ask my girlfriend. Apparently he's "very computer smart" and "one of the best ones." So yeah.

Rye: I would rather have just about anyone else on EoFF help me with computer problems than Rye. I really feel sorry for the person that gets any sort of technical advice from her. I mean, if you presented her with a stick of RAM she'd probably think it was something to do naughty things with. Seriously, she wouldn't know RAM from a harddrive if you smacked her with a computer manual.

Samuraid: I don't know Samuraid very well, but he was made an admin for his technical abilities (I imagine) and appears to know his stuff. Another worthy candidate.

Yamaneko: another tech-admin, this one openly being lazy. However, he will help you out with your technical problems (and by "you" I mean "me" since he has before; I don't know about the rest of you).

This is Rye, presenting Most Missed Member.

While each of these members are all are up for the same award for the same basic reason on the same message board, they are each missed by the fora for different and varying reasons, spanning from lack of activity (RSL, post more please <3) to being banned for calling BoB a fukin clown face (ff babe, m‘dear), or even posting… their own penis (PiP, you internet slut!)

When each of these members were nominated, the members PMing Award Guy had in mind the wonderful (or infamous) posts that may or may not have banned the EoFFer, but certainly made them stand out from the stereotypical cloudrikkusquallselphiekid858939393-esque member. They may have shook their head in confusion thinking about Chris‘ bizarre fetish of Grace Jones while they clicked their mouse (or touchpad for you laptop savvy folk) , or chuckled to themselves to the thoughts of talkie on the talkies by that crazy lovehurts, or recalled the spam of HOOTERS and GokuKidNUMBERS/BOU (well, for the latter, only the crusty oldies like Raaaaistlin) and the “fail“ or DMKA. They may have wondered if dear old Baloki really is a furry or not and counted the days until his return. They probably didn’t mentally count the modwhore posts of ~Sapphirestar~, but I can’t recall anything ELSE she did. And of course, they may have smiled reminiscently while thinking of Shoden’s beautiful face.

Every one of these members has done something memorable to set themselves out as the dearly missed of the Eyes on Final Fantasy Forum, but you’re going to find out now just who is the Most Missed.



Before the speach for most Femine member starts, I must say I am ashamed of you people. Raistlin? Do I need to explain my shame? But I digress from my point. The cute and femmy are the ones who will come out on top this round, and they come in abundance here.
Rye is a real fighter for this award. Her famed creation of Frenchie may be her downfall, but her appearance as the beloved sunflower and the ever so cute phrase ryechuuu, she may overwell overcome the Frenchie handy cap and rise above.
Miriel and Rubah rise into this race with something to prove, the Cat Fight over the most Feminine Knight Rages on, and it’s a Cat Fight we all look forward to seeing as they struggle to the top.
And of course who can forget the user of the :jess:, Jess. The adorable overused smiley may lead her to the path of victory. But will the use of the Feminine smiley from a femmy female compete with the Effeminate nature of our very own LunarWeaver, the most Effeminate guy on the site. With his cute little Cat boy sig and gentle way of speek, will the :jess: stand a chance?
And as most of these Awards go, there is the one person I don’t know. RaineCloud is this awards person, and since I don’t know her, she won’t win, therefore no reason to write. If she does win though, damn, I feel stupid. :(

It have been up sooner, but I had to move as the realter came with someone to look at the house and I gorgot to grab the mouse.



Every six months on the forums we see many displays of manly strength and activities ranging from Bragging of things they didn’t do to there continual disregard of womens rights. I’m talking of course of the most Masculine member of EoFF. An amazing show of manly strength and mind is what will win this catagory.
Being voted in for his apparent God Complex, Devil Man makes his way into the Ranks of Nominees, holding the most nominations. His Third person talking and Tales of Women he Claims to have been with show his amazing ability to trade stories with the best of them, and a false confidence that is worthy of the manliest of men. Saddly his manliness has removed him from the competition, apperently we just weren’t ready to sample his man hood.
Two interesting Candidates for this award are none other then the Female staffers Shlupquack and Kikimm. Some may wonder why they are here, how can women be Masculine? These females have shown greater and bigger balls than most of our residing men, that alone earned them the right to be nominated, the facial hair just helped to ensure the position.
The Buffet of Manliness himself, Strider, also makes an appearance. Are these Claims of Manliness true, or a well constructed Lie to win himself a Ciddie? If it isn’t obvious to you what the truth is, you obviously don’t know how men think, therefore are not on this list of Nominee.

But who can forget the Local Rockstar Spaceman Spiff, none other than the Rock God of the Forums. Originally known as Sexy McAwsome, his names reek of Man in a way others do not. Will his Rock Prowess take him to the top?
RSL and Resha, how the hell they got nominated I have no Idea. Same goes For Manus, he’s just a Smart Allec, and Masculine and Smart don’t go together. Since I don’t know who this IceGlow person is you can insert your own comments here.
It’s a battle Royal for the most Masculine member this Ciddies, from the new to old. Not even Yams and his demand for women to serve his every whim and make him a sandwich was unable to make it into this race, who will come out on top?



"Improved" is a funny word. It is a word that implies that something, in this case a member, has become better in some way. There are a lot of ways that a member can improve. You can measure it by one's difference in maturity over time; most people grow less childish when they try to fit into a community filled with grouchy veterans. You can measure it by how much grammar and spelling assert themselves in a member's post; after a while, people realize that communicating in 1337 is just not the way to go. You can measure, really, by just how well a member has come to get along with their fellow EoFFers over time, and this is the Ciddie that looks at that.

Good evening my fellow EoFFers, it brings me great honor to present the next award. There is always a continuous flow of n00bs into the forum, accompanying them comes many a spamming and mindless thread making. With this chaos and clutter it can be hard to tell who makes significant input and general improvement to EoFF. Unlike many of the ‘popular’ members the winner of the next award is the unspoken hero of EoFF. This award is the “Most Underrated Member.” Past winners include Red Wizard, Big D, HSU, Jebus and the reigning winner Cz. These members were and are very significant to EoFF’s health, and although they receive little credit, this award assures that they are recognized. Although it makes sense that the most underrated member would be someone that doesn’t win, the Ciddies don’t work that way and we need a winner. The finalists are: Azar, blackmage_nuke, Griff, Jebus, Jowy, Rantzien, Rase, Rusty, Sephiroth1999AD, The Captain and theundeadhero. And the winner? You'll find out soon!


PRESENTATION AGAIN FOR THE ME

And now we come to the Member who supposedly conducts themself in the most "normal" fashion. Webster's Online Dictionary defines normal as "perpendicular to a tangent at a point of tangency". Perpendicular, of course, implies a 90 degree, or "right" angle, which leads me to believe this award should go to the person who sits straight up in their chair, with their legs sticking straight out in front of them perpendicular, or "normal" to the back of the chair and the person's upper body. That is, one who does not slouch in any way. Slouch is defined as "an awkward fellow". Given the disproportionately large amount of females nominated for this award, I don't think Noah Webster will mind if we alter his lexicon just for a second. Now, tell us who the least awkward member is! Wait, what was this award for again?



To gather inspiration to bring you another award-winning speech that moves the masses, I decided to do a little research on what the ultimate fanboy/girl truely is. So I headed over to the Wikipedia and Urban Dictionary for a description of a fangirl and fanboy, or fanboi if you're a dork who thinks that everything sounds better with a japanese twist (I'm looking at you, Cefca lovers :shifty: ).

The Wikipedia describes a fanboy as "<i>...an unkempt, socially awkward, young man who may be perceived as a loud mouthed pseudo-intellectual.</i> Since that describes 99% of the population of these forums, that didn't help me narrow down my search for the ultimate fanboy. The Urban Dictionary defines a fangirl as "A rabid breed of human female who is obesessed with either a fictional character or an actor. Similar to the breed of fanboy. Fangirls congregate at anime conventions and livejournal. Have been known to glomp, grope, and tackle when encountering said obesessions." Again, this didn't help much as the 1% of our population that is female fits the bill pretty well.

Next I decided to do a google image search for fangirl and fanboy, thinking that I would recognize the ultimate fanboy/girl when I saw their. I didn't find the ultimate fanboy or fangirl, but I did find a girl with a fan:

Never giving up, I poured through the information I had gathered and discovered that the ultimate fanboy/girl was right here all along! Who is this ultimate fanboy/girl? Erdrick Holmes: a popular choice because of his incessent talk of his lesbian "wives" Chun Li and whoever else he wishes were real (although he denies wanting real girls). He usually wants this award too.

fire_of_avalon: Is a CK, so will probably get some popularity votes. Also a female, unusual to have for these awards, but in this case is pretty warranted.

I'm my own MILF: another popular choice, this one very valid. I mean, his name is MILF. I would understand if this weirdo won. Very liberal in his preferences, and is rather open about it. For all of you who think he's too horribly perverted, just... don't read his LJ.

Jebus: this is the obvious joke vote. Give the guy a break.

Psychotic: uh... like foa, is a CK and in the spotlight, so will get the popularity votes.

Roto13: basically Ansem's replacement on this list, though not THAT out there.

Rye: The winner of last Ciddie's Horniest Member award, she definitely deserves it again. Her wide variety of fetishes shocks even I'm my own MILF at times. The pictures she draws on MSN are not suitable for... anyone, really.

Why are we here? What is the Reason we exist? This is a question that we have all asked ourselves, and as our lives progressed the answer came to us. One man answered our question whole heartedly. Also competing is our Home Town Comic Hero Charles Schultz for His amazing drawings and writings of our nations most beloved Comic Dilbert. Wait, I mean Christmas, that’s right. And I’m sure by now we all know who is up next. His face has appeared in so many awards it makes me sick. ShulpQuack, er, devil man, is the name of many of these awards, and it makes us all wonder, Should we cut back on the Drugs? His Third person speak has Propelled ShupQuack, I mean Devil Man, to some unimaginable pedestal for the likes of him to hold. It makes me weep. To bad you can’t win, he Devil Man? :mwahaha: Another award you lost. Feel the wrath of rules!
What could be stranger than a Cat Boy? They aren’t even sexy, they are just plain weird and Creepy, which is probably Why LunarWeaver has been Nominated. If he was a girl though, I would so try to get in his pants, I’m almost tempted to try right now, but due to various restraining orders do to acts in the past that won’t be possible at this time.
Next up on the list is Necronopticus, known for his work on the Ah! The Power of Cheese! For revealing the twisted Truth behind the story of FF IV, and whatever the hell he’s done recently, like any one knows him for anything else anyway, he has earned a place into the bowels of everyone’s weird lobe of the mind, or something. That’s the best I got for this Nominee, so if you guys have a problem talk to Award Guy, it’s his fault for letting me write this in the first place.
Old Manus is a regular to this award. Our local X-2 obsessed parasite has been infecting our forums for all this time with his cheesy one liners and half assed attempts at comedy. He has gained many enemies during his stay, and responds to them in the same fashion as everyone else, he flips them off.
The alleged child of Christmas, Rantzien makes his debut on the list. Who is he? If you’d read the first line of this paragraph you’d understand. Who is the Father? My guess is no one, it was all done asexually, but that’s beside the point, anything to come from Christmas is strange, so here he is in all his biologically impossible goodness.
The only question I have for our next competitor is how much PCP did you have to smoke to not only see a strange man with a tongue, but think people would enjoy seeing his portrait painted in your Sig every time you posted? But to those who visit regularly, it becomes a part of you. #eoff has always stood as a bastard offshot brand of that beautiful Eyes On Final Fantasy community. We love it so much, we watch our mIRC counters shoot into the thousands of hours because we keep coming back for more. More of what you might ask? What could be better than returning to the same people and the random topics of conversation? Thanks to the chatters, I can't think of anything. These people are some of the most amazing people I've ever known in my life. I started visiting nearly 6 years ago, and since then, I've seen #eoffers come, and I've seen #eoffers go. I've seen the whole channel move servers many times. But while the channel may change, and the people may change, the channel itself always has the same beauty.

What makes #eoff so beautiful? The people. The people who are always there with a trout slap and a video game tip for you. They are damn good at what they do. But what is it they do? Babble incoherantly at each other for most of the hours in the day? It may seem so. And by god, we love you for it. The Ciddie will be awarded to the one who upholds the meaning #eoff in their heart, and bleeds the very essense of chat goodness. And even if they don't do that, #eoffers like them enough to honor them anyway. Which is good enough for me. We also have, a more recently changed dish, Levian, served either rare or well done, but always with some form of garnish, usually spam.

There's a good market now for Meat Puppet, which despite it's name, is actually perfect for the veggie lover in all of us, though spam does sneak it's way in there too.

Who could forgot, one of the old stand-bys, which always seems to be among our best sellers, Psychotic, which takes spam to an artform in the hands of the chef, much like the Iron Chefs do to their dishes.

And of course, there's always a good Raistlin if you really want something to chew on, and perhaps not go down easy, but the flavor is worth it.

To cap it off, we have Yamaneko, which has a very subtle yet wonderfully spam-like taste all its own.

All are worthy selections, guaranteed to fill your spamming needs, but in order to stay on your diet, we must only choose one this time....

At eve, the moonbeams sliding softly in between the leaves, is all the light Del Murder needs for writing poetry. Plucking a pen from the writer’s tree, Del’s senses prick as unfamiliar vibrations caress his eardrum. It is eestlinc, and the epic battle of the poets has begun.

There are bike sheds. Unseen to a passer-by, but all too familiar to I Am Stoner, where behind them he found the one light he needed to start writing. Not too far away, possibly slightly aroused by the aroma wafting hazily on the breeze, Jack’s pen touches paper for the first time this today. From there, the words flow like dolphins, diving in and out of the paper, ‘cos he’s trippin’ hardcore.

It is under the same light of day that nik0tine sits down, his soul weighed down by his Mohawk, and summons multiplicities of demons and other hellish beings too foul to mention. It is now he asks for guidance from these demented creatures, and such a union brings evil to something so beautiful as poetry. Algebra.

Meanwhile, in an ancient pathway far beneath the earth’s surface, a pen more ancient than time itself is clicked by its monolithic master, Necronopticous. For the first time in what could be a billion years if anyone could count that high, words are written to astound and impress the general populace of this, human world.

As if oblivious to what ancient poetry writing techniques are taking place thousands of miles under the earth’s crust, the intoxicating Miss_Lulu becomes a minstrel for the people of the day, pleasing all with her words intertwined in mystification.

Despite all this, please don’t forget that poetry is for pansies and real men would be out there chopping up wood or building something, and none of them compare to Dragonforce.

1. Behold the void: Void is the winner of the previous Ciddies for best writer, and he deserved it. This year he was also nominated and looking through his work I found that he is quiet the writer. ‘Zeldryn chronicles’ which is a collection of fantasy stries is a very interesting story. He also have ‘Sora VS. Cloud’ and ‘Grand tournament revival’. Good luck in the Ciddies Void.
2. Christmas: I am sure that many of you have read the amazing story Masmas has written. She mixed some EOFF members in a fantasy scary story. Sadly that 'A TRUE LOVE STORY?????' was the only story she wrote yet, I hope to see more work from her in the future. Here's your fav smiley, Masmas. :bigsmile:
3. Goldenboco: This guy has joined few months ago and ever since he shown a lot of signs for a good writer. He especially is good at humorous stuff which as I saw a lot of EOFF members enjoyed reading. He started with 'Squall and Rinoa playing' which was a funny episodes about FF8 characters playing their own video game. Then he made that great thread of 'EOFF playing' which I personally enjoyed a lot. He also is a nice guy, so good luck EOFF official golden chocobo.
4. I'm my own MILF: This is a long writer, he has written some long stuff. I can't say much about him really cause I barely know him. :p But over all from what I saw, his writings worth reading and are enjoying. His story 'end of the world' is a really nice though incomplete story. The title is attracting. ;)
5. Nik0tine: It seems that he/she hasn’t written a lot lately, but his writing had the simple look at them, easy to understand and to track which make them very liked. I hope he/she comes back to writings soon.
6. TheMagicroundabout: he is actually a poem writer and was mixed up into writers award. His poems are short contain seven lines the most, I seen ‘Don’t listen to Julian’ , ‘Kristina’s on the line’ and ‘The first dance of winter’. They are all short but with nice strong words. Good luck, buddy!.

So, Finally we are going to know which one of those is going to win , might be Void (fat chance) or may be any other great writer. I still wish I can pay more visits to writers’ corner, but I am too lazy to do so. :shifty: Yet, good luck, and happy..er.. Ciddies.




Hello everybody! Once again there are new faces in Best Graphic Designer this time around. Christmas, Rengori, DK and Her Majesty's Agent Umaro werent nominated last time, and the only people who were are Rye, ff7+ff10 gurl 100 and Owen Macwere. My comments on the ones that stayed will be similar to those of last time, since not that much has changed.

Christmas is a wizard at MS Paint. When it comes to MS Paint, I think most of us agree that its as good as impossible to draw anything that looks like.... erm well, anything, but for some unkown reason Christmas seems to enjoy it and so has developed a nifty ability to draw some damn good pictures. If people realize the work that goes into those drawings, then Christmas should be a contendor to reckon with, but the main thing is, if you dont vote for her, your head will probably be chopped off.

Owen Macwere. Well what can I say? He picks up praise like a sponge picks up water, and rightly so, but I doubt he will stop there. No, he will continue until he rules the whole forum, then he will turn us all into slaves and sell us to the best buyer. Anyway, I doubt there really needs to be much said about Owen, as pretty much everyone knows his work already.

ff7+ff10 gurl 100. She is better than last year, and last year she came in second as far as I remember. So a force to be reckoned with. She usually creates sigs of her favourite bands and the like. She has, with hard work, been producing top quality signatures, and makes use of all sorts of brushes and filters and vibrant colours.

Rye. Well, the same from last year applies to her this year. She is an amazing graphic designer. Rye is the winner of the Best Graphic Designer loads of Ciddies in 2005 and 2006, dont ask me about ciddies before that, since I never visited these awards before that. She usually wins by a large amount of votes, and never stops creating work and improving. The question everyone is asking is, can she be beaten?

Rengori, DK and Her Majesty's Agent Umaro are all very new to graphic design, well actually, I have no idea whether Her Majesty's Agent Umaro is new to graphic design or not, I was not able to find any work from him :( but im sure he must be good in order to be nominated for Best Graphic Designer. Lets hope the newcomers put up a close fight!

Well, that was it for my presentation speech. It was pretty hard to find anything to comment on, I think the winter season has robbed people of their motivation (I know that is the case for me, since my signature thread is lost somewhere on the 5th page I think. The veterans havnt made many more since last Ciddies, and the newcomers have only made a few in total.

On an ending note, I would just like to say I really hope that people do not use this award as a popularity contest, because its too much of a shame to waste a perfectly good idea like Best Graphic Designer. Keep it fair!

Who'll be the Best Graphic Designer of the End of Year Ciddies 2006? We have plenty of good people with a talent for graphic designing. Rye was the previous winner of the last Ciddies held earlier this year. Does she have what it takes to repeat, or will any of her opponents take the award away from her? Most of the graphic designs made were signatures, wallpapers, and the likes, but let's not forget that spriting and MSPainting could count as graphic designing, as we have a wide variety of talent to choose from.

<b>Christmas</b> - May be a new Graphic Designer, but her specialty isn't in making brilliant signatures, but wonderful works of art with her brilliant skills at using the underused MSPaint program. She has not only managed to make signatures, but she has created a comic, numerous pictures for her friends' birthdays, and managed to feature Old Manus in each and every one ever created.

<b>DK</b> - Most of his signatures are compilations of pictures on one image. Perhaps it poorly constructed, or it's a masterpiece. It all depends on who's viewing. Personally, I'd say he still has a long way to go, but he's still great at what he does. You may want to consider asking him for a signature if you're looking for a signature that the BAoTW would be proud of!

<b>ff7+ff10 gurl 100</b> - Known for using bright colors and simple yet complicated looking designs on her signatures. During the last Ciddies, ff7+ff10 gurl 100 was the runner-up to Rye for Best Graphic Designer. Her skills have since improved, and since then has made some quality signatures. She even attempted on designing a new banner for EoFF, and that's something to consider.

<b>Her Majesty's Agent Umaro</b> - Have a campaign and need help around? Lynx's the man to go to with all your campaigning needs. Her Majesty's Agent Umaro not only specializes in campaign arts, but also does signatures, banners, websites, spriting, and so much more. A jack of all trades in the world of graphic design, and as such, is a force to be reckoned with in Best Graphic Designer.

<b>Owen Macwere</b> - Owen has great skills, and it definitely shows in his signatures. He has great knowledge of the programs he uses and with such, he's able to create amazing signatures for his friends and others at EoFF. If you're looking to win Best Signature, Owen's the one to ask to make your signature.

<b>Rengori</b> - Rengori's signatures are simple yet effective, and that's all that really matters as long as it gets to the point. He may not have mastered the skill as some of the other nominees, but that shouldn't matter. And of course, his skills are only going to improve, so look for him to get much better in the future.

<b>Rye</b> - Our final nominee, and winner of Best Graphic Designers of the last Ciddies. Have she imrproved to repeat again? It all depends. Rye's signatures are wonderful and full of vibrant. It also helps that she enjoys graphic designing, so she could be a shoe-in to win again. Maybe not. We'll see.

There are many great artists here at our forums; many of who don’t get enough recognition for their great talent. This Ciddie is quite a special one because one may say it validates their talent. The Artist’s Forum and Gallery are two that are not the most popular here at EoFF, and with this Ciddie, the people who create beautiful art can shine andget the attention they deserve. We have 9 very deserving artists with great artistic talent, and this award was most likely very hard for people to decide between them. Their talent has been showcased in so many great and creative ways, so to say only one is the best is ludicrous. And the winner is _____! Congratulations!




This is a piece of text that you would like to be inserted at the end of all your posts, a little like having headed note paper.

Unless you’re Dr Unne or Yams, you probably see that fun little pictures underneath every ones posts. Known as signatures (despite rarely having to do with handwriting), these often humorous images are ways for people to make sure people know when they make a post, as well as serving as an outlet for graphic designers and artists to show off their work. With a burgeoning sig-making industry in the sub-forum of the Artist Forum, EoFF is often filled with a good number of excellent signatures, some of which are up for this Ciddie. Here’s a quick recap of all of the members up for this award.

Known for her Paint artwork (which she often adorns her own signature with), Christmas never cease to amuse and amaze. While I don’t remember, I believe that the one she had during nominations featured her and Manu in a deadly lightsaber duel to the death. Having came in tenth last in this category last Ciddies, will she be able to rise to the top this time?

Possible one of the best examples of the signature fitting the member, Del Murder’s faux Godfather one has become an iconic symbol around EoFF, letting everyone know that the Illegal Secret Enforcer is here to help.

DK’s signature features an oh-so-subtle jab at Cid’s Knights. While unverified, I’m sure he would claim that it is 100% true, so there you go. It’s widely regarded as an improvement over his previous signature, which scarred a certain speech-writers young mind for life. Despite not been nominated last Ciddies, DK is certainly a worthy opponent for this Ciddie.

Constantly insisting that it would be idiotic to not vote for his signature, nik0tine has certainly been campaigning for this Ciddie. Reprising his one from the last Ciddies (in which he came in fourth), nik0tine wages a solo campaign for Jesus Christ, offering a PSP to anyone who converts and is saved. His sig even features the Holy Light From Above, meaning that you can fully trust the offer.

Truly a man in love with the camera, Psychotic makes his aspirations well known in his signature. Apparently he hopes to one day buy the Hollywood sign and rechristen the Los Angeles district after his forum name. It isn’t known if this would be a good or bad thing. Regardless, Psychotic placed ninth in the last Best Signature Ciddie, and undoubtedly plans to be the king of the hill in this one.

I feel terrible about this, but I haven’t the slightest clues as to what Reno is my man’s former signature was. Regardless, if her current one is any indication, she was sporting one of Christmas’s creations, and was well worthy of being nominated for this. Also, her current one features herself, Christmas, and the lovable Manus sporting Santa wear and chilling in the snow. Another nominee who wasn’t up last time, we shall see if she can pull through this one.

A Graphic Designer of wide renown, Rye‘s signatures always show a great deal of ability and time. Covering a wide range of subjects, she seems to know just what effects to apply to an image to make it great. I have, unfortunately, forgotten what Rye’s previous signature was, but her current one features an Engrish Santa informing you that he will be “sliding down your hole for Christmas”. Take that however you want to. Rye placed seventh last Ciddie’s and so is gunning for the top spot this time.

Despite her current masquerade, it’d be impossible for any seasoned EoFFer to not know ShlupQuack’s signature. I mean, it’s a freaking animated dinosaur! It’s also what got her the Best Signature Ciddie last time, and knowing Shlup, she’s not going to give up he position easily (meaning that she’ll probably ban the winner if it’s not her). Will it works its magic again?

There you have it. Wearers of some of the best signatures on Eyeson, everyone on this list could easily claim to deserve it and not be lying. 'An avatar on the Eyes On Final Fantasy is a defining item. Many members picture there fellow member as what is represented in their avatar due to the fact that not many people can be bothered sifting through the album and/or we get stuck perving on Shlupquack. That's not the point. An avatar can be funny or weird, serious and beautiful and also gives a clue to what that member likes. It can also be scary. Good evening my fellow EoFFers, it brings me great honour to present the next award. When editing ones profile at EoFF one can change many appearance options to meet their personal needs. Whether it’s their User name, Custom Rank, Avatar or Signature, together they can define who the member is. The Avatar and Signature are often thought as being the most important things a user can change, and the threads for just help changing and designing them reiterate the fact. Endless hours are put into these, but hardly as much are put into The Custom Rank of a member. In creating a Custom Rank, the playing field is leveled with one can do with it and the only thing that matters is what it reads. Avarice-ness - Ah, Dear Ashley. Definitely a sexy lady. She's got it all, the glasses, the choker, the...sexy...face. Yeah. D: Oh yeah, I got game. But yeah, she seems to be continuing a long line of Sexy Ashley's at EoFF. She's also got that slightly crazy personality which is very appealing. You just can't help but want to talk to her! I hope she does well here. *congises Ashley*

boris no no - She's got that accent man, the posh girl accent that drives some people crazy. Then, on the other end of the spectrum, she's a total caner mentalist and isn't afraid to drink you under the table. Also, if you read her MSN names and titles...yeah. What more could a man want? :jess:

Christmas - It is no surprise to me that little Snowy Heart is up here for this award. For she is the one thing, that one holy grail to all RPG nerds on the internet. She is....asian! Some people also find the whole destroy the world in a flaming ball of death thing quite seductive, I imagine.

fire_of_avalon - All that really needs to be said is: #tot. I wish I could divulge some of those stories here because you WOULD vote for her, oh yes, you would. xD I can't count the times, the stories, it's terrible and terrifying and yet...sexy. And the southern accent she has, too. YooHoo shaking furiously as I type.

Jess - Much like Boris, every man dreams of a girl like Jess, someone who could drink you under the table and is more into the sport than you are. :jess: As a bonus, she is awesome, and has a nice face. Expect a strong showing.

Jojee - Do the Christmas one again but replace world destruction with Bunny Ears and a Katana. Azns + FF board = sexy

kikimm - I don't really know what I should say here. On one hand, I could say a lot of nice things about my dear friend Krissy, on the other hand, knowing her, she might hate this and want to stab me in the eyeball. She's a I DON'T TAKE NO CRAP kind of girl, and in that lies the reason that so many people find her sexy. She has the best hair, too :love: but yeah I'm being careful of what I say lest I get an ass kicking from the taekwondo girl.

Leeza - Oh, Leeza. :love: :love: :love: When you think of the kind of sexy Leeza is, it's like...that schoolteacher, with her high heels and those glasses and the metre stick ruler she's about to twat you with because you've been a naughty student, and she has FIRE in her eyes, and you're SO SCARED! But...at the same time, it's sexy :love: Leeza is the refined, sexy lady of EoFF. You all know it.

Resha - Haha, I bet Pooja is mortified at seeing this, especially as I am the one writing it. She is sexy, though. she's WEIRD, man. She likes frogs and scat and all that. Bruised Busty Babe isn't afraid to get rough, either. It's an intoxicating combination for many men. I won't even TELL you why her nickname is "Farter". Definite contender. ilu pooja! :jess:

Shiny - Shiny has a very sexy voice. And she's also a complete and total pervert on the next level. Worse than Rye, even. So much so that I can't say any more because i'll get banned, such is the nature of this woman.

ShlupQuack - I'm afraid to say anything because her husband is here and he might beat me up. :( Levian thinks she is the sexiest woman he has ever seen in his entire life, though. (yeah i'm dropping him in it and running)

smittenkitten - In his predictions, Lynxie said something like "Have you seen her bust?" The answer to that question, dear Lynxie, is Yes I have, and I know why she's here. :D

Fittingly enough, the Sexiest Female is presenting the speech for Sexiest Male. :)


He enters chat and all eyes are immediately on the name. He posts in a thread, and every post before and after cease to exist. His picture has thousands of “mouse clicks” in the member album, and when he posts in a voice thread, you’re little more than a puddle of spit and lipstick.

We all have our favorites, the ones that turn our cheeks red (which cheeks? Which do you prefer?), give us chills and make us wish WE could spend the night in the shadow of the Highwind before going to kick the second prettiest guy in the world’s ass. But who has it the most? Who makes all of us quiver way down deep? Here’s a look at the contestants, ladies and gentlemen.

Badass of the Brown: While his penchant for bizarre dress (has anyone SEEN his most famous album picture?) is a little unnerving, DK’s balls out attitude and his use of the Brown to assert himself in the world of EoFF make him a tough contender. Does he have the secret sexuality, revealed exclusively #tot, to beat out these other pansies?

The Pretty Boy: A face you’d love to bring home, but not necessarily to mama, Jowy is a fresh face to this category. I think. I can’t really remember, I think I looked at him too long. My brains are all addled, I wonder if I’ll remember to vote correctly.

Oh, Kishi: What man or woman here hasn’t lusted a little after the darkside? Known best for his raw, depraved, and ultimately weird fetishes and wit sharper than some obscure video game character’s sharp thingy, Kishi definitely has what it takes to capture the Ciddie, but he probably doesn’t want it anyways.

The Best Bud: Loony BoB, probably the friendliest fellow around these parts, is sexy? Why the hell not? He’s got class, he’s got charm, and he’s a freaking chocobo? You could ride him all day long, and he’d be ready for more! Can he outlast the rest of these wankers to be premier sheepshagger?

The Wild One: Smart as a whip, and equally insane, Psychotic is remniscent of those crazy young men raised by wolves, or gorillas or walruses. Those who have met him, and haven’t swooned, were subjected to his animalistic intelligence and Tekken skills. Will Psychotic crazy his way to the winner’s circle? Can I use crazy as a verb?

The Boy Wonder: Many of the EoFF young’uns have clung instantly to a superstar and found their way to the top, but it’s nearly unheard of that one of them makes it into the Sexiest Male competition? Can this mini-stud run with the big dogs, or is he about to get all tore up?

The Caustic Casanova: Sardonic and certainly suggestive in his own way, roto13 is probably a pervert. I couldn’t get close enough to tell, with the throngs surrounding him. Some of the things I do know about this sexy knave are far too libidinous for the forums, but I don’t know if they’ll get him Ciddies gold.

The Missing Manly Must: He is RSL. He has a beard. He has THE beard. What more can be said? Well, besides: I waaaaant.

Touchable Techie: Who doesn’t want a man with a brain? Not only can Samuraid offer a great helping of grey matter, this technological titan knows how to push all the right buttons. Could he hack it as Sexiest Male?

Rockstar: At least, you would think it based on his extensive knowledge of music and guitars. And haven’t we all wanted a man who could use his hands that way? But can a rock n roll deity match up against the rest of these boys?

I’ve gotten myself a little mois-sweaty and tired. I’m gonna retire to the dressing room, here’s how y’all voted. :<3:



Evil. A word used to describe the likes of Dr. Doom, Lex Luther, and (depending on the fanboy) Sony/Nintendo/Microsoft. Generally believed to have derived from the Latin words ee, meaning “someone who” and val meaning “I sort of don’t like”, evil has been used to describe a lot of things. Here at EoFF, it’s meaning will hinge on whichever member wins this Ciddie. I have it one good authority that after the winner is announced, the word “evil” will change to that members name through the swear filter. But that doesn’t matter now, because we don’t even know who’s won. So let’s take a brief look back at the nominees and what they did or may have done to get here.

Chemical is evil based on name alone I guess. I mean, chemicals are what made the Green Goblin, The Joker, and Rush Limbaugh the fearsome super-villains they are. Of course, Chemical may also be nominated because of her rather blunt way of posting her opinion, which while perfectly fine had undoubtedly made some people see her as evil. Or it could be that freaky signature. Either way, she secretly wants this Ciddie, so we’ll have to see if the voters gave it to her.

HATE. A word synonymous with Christmas to any EoFFer, most people probably think this can be construed to also mean evil. With her comic predicting a civil war looming and DK being killed by Loony BoB, people may see her as the cause of these events, despite them actually not happening. Whatever the reason, she’s up and a strong contender.

Erdrick Holmes may suffer the same fate as Chemical, in that people don’t like the way he types his opinion on things. A regular in this category, Holmes usually doesn’t do well in it, but maybe this time he’s been exceptionally evil in an attempt to secure victory.

At first fire_of_avalon doesn’t appear to be very evil. She likes Auron, guitars, and chatting, and… wait, chatting? Okay, so there you go, foa is pretty much an evil person through and through. She also wished for Neel’s toes to fall off, which is just plain not nice. Apparently she really wants to win this.

Apparently the pill referenced in I Took the Red Pill’s name is amphetamine, which would explain a lot of things. While it doesn’t make him evil, we all know that drugs are bad, right? We learned that in like, second grade with the D.A.R.E thing and Nancy Reagan. And if you’re against Nancy Reagan, you’re obviously not a good guy. That’s science. But do EoFFer’s know science.

The oddly named I'm my own MILF is probably on here due to his devouring of a defenseless apple, despite it’s pleas for mercy and it having many seeds that may one day become saplings. He also is a part of the HuxDDD and Frenchie thing, so that may be why to. Long tounges are scary.

The very fact that Kawaii Ryûkishi’s horns can be used in dark arts is a pretty good indication that something may be afoot. The fact that he has a seemingly infinite amount of knowledge only compounds the feeling that Kishi is something not of this world, and those types of things are rarely good. It’s in movies. Seeing as how Kishi is both well-known and evil, he has a very good shot at this.
Aside from those dumb Egyptians (really, tombs don’t need to be that big guys), most cultures treat cats as somewhat evil. Is it any wonder Leeza’s up for this Ciddie, especially since she doesn’t even find cats, cats find her. She also one of the most role-enforcing staff members, and we all know rules are evil. These facts place Leeza in a good position going into the finals.

Never one to mince words (where the heck did that saying even come from anyway?), Lindy is known for his razor sharp wit and scathing posts. A dimension-hopping hellion, Lindy is never afraid to let someone know that he or she is, in the nicest way, a moron. Apparently this makes him evil, or at least not nice sometimes. Either way, his reputation will definitely help him here.

Despite trying to pass himself off as the famous superhero Hoodie Man, Psychotic is clearly a dangerous revolutionary, which makes him different and therefore evil. The Che Guevara of EoFF, he leads his BAotW and W-Boats in covert operations even now. His promotion to Cid’s Knight only emboldened him and strengthened his hold. Most people seem to think he’s pretty much the evil mastermind behind a lot of stuff, and he rarely seems to deny it. He’s been up for this before, and is sure to garner votes, but will they be enough?

Now, you’d think it’d be obvious as to why Raistlin’s up for this one. If you’ve ever been in EoEo (when he’s not banned from there), you’ll likely see that he has a “unique” way of arguing his points. However, like most crazed evil folks, Raistlin sees what he’s doing as justice, usually against the Staff and particularly ShlupQuack (who’s also up for this). We’ll have to see which one of them, if either, you think if the evilest.

Resha likes cricket and football (also known by it’s real name, soccer). While this does not make her inherently evil, her allegiance with Arsenal is likely the reason for her nomination. While I do not know much about English football teams, Psychotic (and likely some other members) are none too happy with her choice of teams. There may be other reasons, but I can’t think of any. But you voters apparently have some, so we’ll have if her actions are evil enough to win this Ciddie.

Roto13 has a beard. Guess who else has a beard? If you said Lenin, you’re right. Or Raz'al'gul. Point is, beards = evil. Sure you have your exceptions, your Lincoln’s, your Jesus’s, your RSL’s, but as a general rule, beards rank behind handlebar mustaches as the evilest form of facial hair. But will this be enough to push Roto13 into the winners circle?

At first, ShlupQuack may seem to be on the side of justice. She does, after all, constantly battle with another nominee, Raistlin, and if you fight someone who’s evil you must be good, right? Wrong. Remember Venom? Just because he helped Spider-Man fight carnage doesn’t mean he’s a good guy. So it is with Shlup. She also has a giant dinosaur at her command, and most evil folk have some sort of and abnormally large pet to devour their enemies. Shlup would probably love to win this just to beat Raistlin, but will either of them win?

As you can see, we have quite a pack of evil folks here at EoFF, and these are just the ones who got nominated. So, which on of these puppy-kicking candy –stealing dastardly do-no-gooders will take the prize? I don’t know, let’s ask Award Guy.



Surely the only humane/fun/proper way to judge this award is to leave it to the good old ‘Pit of Death’. It’s a simple solution to all your newbie problems. Just nominate the 9 newbies you consider the most special and let them battle out to the death with nothing but the remains of banned members’ bodies for weapons. At the end there is one winner and s/he is clearly the best newbie and is (sort of) worthy of being here.

Unfortunately, BoB forgot to pay the gas bill for the Pit of Death, which means no more randomly activated flamethrowers, which means no real competition. After all, what’s a Pit of Death without gas? So we are left to vote, much like we did for ‘class president’ or ‘class bicycle’ in high school.

EoFF, you’ve sent your votes in, BoB’s ignored them, and the best newbie will now be decided by a game of Russian roulette.

After all, they’re only noobs, and bullets are replaceable.

Now what do you think of when you hear or read the word "Veteran"? Me personally, I think of wrinkly old fart soldiers who wheel themselves out four times a year even though they're clearly almost dead, yet somehow manage to stay alive just so they can put on those old fighting uniforms and just for one day, be young again. They're back in their pomp, they're back ON TOP OF THE GAME, SON!

And, much like those soldiers, the members up for nomination in this award are also wrinkly old farts. Well, some of them are. To be honest i've hardly heard of some of the others, let alone known they'd been here long enough to be considered a Veteran, but I think that probably belies my own "age" more than theirs. But, I speak harshly. All of them are here because they have stuck around this hellhole for longer than most, and they have obviously been upstanding members, otherwise they would have been banned long before now. Let's take a little in depth look at our nominees!

Cz - George has been a member at EoFF for a long time indeed. I can think of lots of nice things i'd like to say about him, but the fact he's a dirty dirty Arsenal fan keeps rearing it's ugly head. :mad2: But even that fact can't take away from Black Mage 121's status as an all round top bloke. He definitely deserves this award, he's funny, he's a nice guy, he's intelligent and he doesn't make a nuisance of himself. In case you're wondering, yes, I am trying to lobby to get him on the CK's. I've been voting and nominating him for that Ciddie for ages. :mad2:

Dr Unne - Out of all the nominees, the longest standing member of all. He seems more like a deity than regular member, as if this catagory is [I]too low for him. Not to knock the award, mind, merely trying to emphasize Unne's status on these forums. I mean, there is a lot one could say about Dr Unne, he's done many positive things in his stay here at EoFF, he's been a fine admin in his time, contributed the best FF1 site on the internet to EoFF for it's use, hell, he's a dab hand at the old Origami and consistently knocks out beautiful works that dazzle the EoFF public. Being on Leeza's good side is always a plus in any situation, too. :spin:

Iceglow - Iceglow already has one cheerleader in his quest for a ciddie, his partner Twisted Tinkerbell. He's been around for a while now, under various usernames. I think he's been traumatised by sending Loony BoB his hair, but that's understandable, it's happened to a few people. Anyone who sticks around EoFF after Towns does unspeakable things to their hair is worthy of their spot in this award. Handsome devil he is, too. :aimkiss:

LunarWeaver - I'll be honest, my knowledge of LunarWeaver is restricted to knowing he posts a crapload of usernotes in peoples usernotes that I also post in, and him and Keith have some sort of thing going on for each other. According to his profile he was trained by one-eyed ninja parrots and he wants to live in a purple tractor, and it's this sort of mental state which is very necessary in being able to stay at EoFF for long periods of time. My own ignorance is no reason to discount the man from this award, though, as he is obviously much loved among the people. I also am working against a time limit here so I'm pretty much talking out of my arse without looking up on these people, so SORRY :laughing:

Maxx Power - Towns told me that I should "just go on about the simpons character Maxx Power! He's the only simposons character who's been up for a ciddie! ha ha!" But then I thought that was kinda sucky and made me glad for Maxx that Towns isn't writing this speech this year. That being said, this effort is piss poor as well. I know Maxx loves Machine Head and sucks at Guitar Hero. He also has his EoFF going to the moon project, which is a quality idea and more people need to contribute to it. Expect a strong showing, with his bunch of Pirate Red Mages showing their love.

Meat Puppet - Now, some of you might not know this, but MP and I have had run-ins in the past long before he came to EoFF. Well okay, not LONG, but still. And if you'd have told me back then that he'd be here today in a Ciddie like this, i'd have probably laughed at you and called you something crude. However, times change, and so do people, and MP has become one of the most valid members of the EoFF community. He is the undisputed master of usernotes, even if the company he chooses to associate himself with there is rather...poor. Consistently funny, and willing to help out (See:Wiki), MP is a definite contender for this award. Shame Devil-Cloud didn't walk the same path. :spin:

nik0tine - I think I have bitten off more than I can chew with this speech. I'm running out of time. I would have had done this much more efficiently, if it was not for this member. That azn girl with the weird face that nik0tine posted all over the place a while back warped my brain forever and now i'm broken. Other than warping minds, nik0 provides us all with quality works in the form of his music and poetry, and is a fierce debator in the EoEo forum. Please vote for him so he doesn't post that picture again. :(

Old Manus - LOL LITTLE MANUS!!! (I always wanted to do that. :D)

Rye - Oh dear. It's a sad state of affairs when you can buy yourself a nomination for best Veteran by selling yourself to the members. :nonono: Our resident strumpet has been providing mighty service to the EoFF members for years now, so it's no surprise she finds herself in the mix for this award. A sad day for the Ciddies indeed. :( (sorry Issy, but i'll make it up later, you'll see. :jess:)

Sephiroth1999AD - Sephiroth1999AD is almost as old as Dr Unne, if my memory serves me correctly (which it probably doesn't.) He's one of the most frequent posters in the gaming forums and is a huge help to many people, and has been doing this for as long back as I can remember. Pretty much defines the word Veteran (at a Final Fantasy message board, at any rate.)

Slade - Slade are one of the most recognisable acts of the glam rock movement, and were at their peak the most commercially popular band in the UK. The band is possibly most famous for the song Merry Xmas Everybody (released December 1973), which is now one of the most iconic British Christmas pop songs.

The Captain - Really, I could go on and on about The Captain and about what a great guy and great poster he is, but it's all been said before, because EVERYONE knows it. So I'll just say that this guy definitely deserves to be here, and may he stay around because him being here means EoFF is a better place.

WOW THAT WAS LONG OKAY AWARD GUY



There are several ways to become a recognized member here at EoFF. None of them are codified, and rarely are members recognized for repeating something that another member was recognized for.

Recognition carries a special honor reserved for members, it’s a mark that they’ve done something of great importance for the community and they deserve to be known for it.

Oh, and then you have Former Staff. They used to be CKs but now they aren’t and we hate them on principle. I’ve never been quite sure why, but when does anything we do ever make sense?

However, twice a year, the Ciddies once again require us to name one of these people as the “best”. Maybe someday there will be some kind of criteria as for how one defines “best”. Until the, we shall improvise.

Agent Proto: One of the earlier CKs, Agent Proto stepped down for reasons unknown to me and more than likely most of you as well. So we won’t dwell on this.

What we do know of Proto, however, is that he is “Just that Ace”. What does this mean? Damned if I know. We should ask him some time, but that requires effort. He also runs the screen name competitions from time to time. And probably does some other stuff too.

Chemical: Chemical is a Recognized Member. Someday, somebody may tell me what he’s recognized for. Until then, I will assume he did something interesting/noteworthy and deserves our praise.

Chemical makes long posts. At least the ones I’ve seen. I’d read them but it’s 1:00 AM and I have a lot more people to go through, most of whom I have no idea who they are. So, to reiterate: Chemical is a Recognized Member. He probably did something cool.

Del Snizz: Del Snizz is a former staff and claims to be the original Del. His last post was in September, and stuff before that brief time frame date back to 2003. He also has posts going back to 2001. The conclusion here is that he’s been around for a long, long time. And probably did some cool stuff.

Endless: Endless is another Former Staffer. Searches of his posts lead back to 2001. So again, I was not around when he was on staff and thus I have no idea what he really did.

I do know that his avatar often has him mistaken for a woman. That’s something in his favor, right?

Giga Guess: Finally, someone I do know! Giga Guess is a Recognized Member, for his work on the World of EoFF along with Trumpet Thief, Carnage and t3h j3ff. He put a lot of work into making the world interesting for others. Sadly, the World of EoFF is no longer active, but thinking about it makes me want to bug BoB into resurrecting it again.

I may just have to go do that.

Rainecloud: Rainecloud is another Recognized Member. What he’s recognized for I have no idea. I think he’s also mistaken for a girl sometimes too. Gonna give Endless a real run for his money if he has that going on too, that’s for sure.

Raistlin: Raistlin is a Former Staff, implying that he was a CK back in the day. And what a day that must have been.

Our resident crotchety old guy, Raistlin somehow, invariably is the butt of just about every joke on this forum. He was there since it started, and he hasn’t gone away since, much as some people (see: Shlup) might want him to.

RSL: Everybody loves RSL! An Eeyore lover, as well as a secret lover of Rydia, RSL has been at EoFF for a long time. Almost as long as Raistlin, I think. He’s often equated with a big teddy bear, and he’s just generally loved by everyone. Anybody who doesn’t love RSL is evil/a communist/a nazi/a cyborg/whatever.

ShlupQuack: Why is she on here!? She’s not even Former Staff anymore! We just GAVE her her power back!

Anyway, Shlup’s cool, evil, pink saturating, blah blah blah I already wrote several paragraphs on her and I’m not going to do it again.

Shlup was admin. She stepped down. She became admin once again. She will smite us all.

theundeadhero: There are many heroes in this world, but there aren’t a lot of undead heroes. To that end, theundeadhero is truly unique.

He’s a Recognized Member, for what I can only imagine (my guess is “being awesome”). A paint master extraordinaire and also a military man, he also works with the site staff and is generally cool.

And undead.

Which really would make him pretty cool, I suppose. What with the whole no body heat and all.

Xander: Xander was a CK. And there was much love, cuteness and pandas. And then she stepped down. And there was a lot less cuteness.

And then we as the staff collectively grew sticks up our rear. Apparently.

Whether or not the latter of that story is true or not, Xander was in her time a kind and sensible CK, and we all loved her. Truly, the staff forum hasn’t been the same since.



Hello one, hello all to the greatest freak show on Earth, thats right it's time for the grand unvailing of our star attraction, the Eyes on Final Fantasy Award for the Best Side Show, aka the Best Site Staff Ciddie. So whos up for nominations this year I hear you shout? Well I think it's time I gave a quick run down of all the freaks and odderties that make up the Site Staff.

First up we have the usual star attractions we keep in the special Senior Site Staff area of the ring, the Roogle, a half rabbit, half google server hybrid, the Roogle is an insanely knoweledgable, insanely quiet creature that has a habit of copying and indexing all that it sees. Next to him is the bottle of Samurai-Aid, the official sponsers of the EoFF database, without the Squirrels that run it would be doomed to dehydration! And finally, and lastly thank god (not that the Senior Site Staff suck much, but they do!), it's Loony BoB, aka the soc-mister! The Loony BoB is a weird and wonderful creature, it believes it is some mithical creature known as a 'chocobo' but it is in fact a half-bread, ostrich/turkey thing, but we let it believe it has some kind of special purpose so it does work for us. Yes BoB, those are wings, yes BoB you can fly, no BoB don't jump off that clif...

Oh well. Now we've got the main attractions out of the way I feel it's time we ran down through the real hard workers around here, the ones you vote on. We've got Azar, also known as the bearded lady to some. DK, aka Dan, aka Chicken legs, aka the increadible strectching Taco (honestly don't ask, it's a sight you'd only ever want to see once...). Flying Mullet, who I'm told can do more with a Ping pong ball then some Thai girls he met while in Japan. And last but not least we have Stri, aka Strider, aka the Strong Man. He can lift a whole server above his head with one finger, honest!

Now we're through with the freaks I feel I should mention our eternal ringmistriss, the eternalshiva, hell theres always gotta be one looker in the bunch, but other then that I think thats it.

So now the votes have been tabulated, Award Guys been given another one of your sisters and I'm still bitter about being banned, yet still being forced to work here so I think it's about time we got on with the results, over to you Award Guy!


The Site Staff Highwind Award

Over the years, there has been a massive amount of hard work put into the frontsite, and some members who joined the Site Staff way back in the day are still here, pushing to get things going forward (well, when we aren't too busy / can't be bothered, that is :D). Over recent times, there are two people who have really stood out when it comes to work rate. Spatvark won this the last time and he's continued to slave away, and has earned three votes from the Site Staff group as he looked to repeat his victory earlier this year for this award.

But someone else has also been extremely consistent this year, and it's not generally the first name that springs to mind if you go into the Site Staff forums at the moment. You look around and see the likes of Mulley or hero backing up Spatty with helping people get into the swing of things, possibly Roogle or myself making a bit of commentary on a submitted page or something of the sort. But it's not all coding and bitching that can win you this award, and four of the Site Staff decided to put their vote towards another hard worker who, like Spatvark, gets very little thanks for his efforts.

Not many of us here in the forums look at the frontsite, but to those who do, this might nto come as a surprise. A massive congratulations to Azar, our latest winner of the Site Staff Highwind Award! With 103 news updates in the past 18 months, with his name on 'em, Azar has now passed ahead of Roogle (79) and sits behind only Cid (140) in th all-time news updates tally. This is a big thankyou, Azar, from us here in Site Staff - your efforts don't go unnoticed by everyone, and to beat Spatvark to this Ciddie is a real achievement! Just excuse his bitching - we're sure you'll both be in the running next time, too. ;) Well deserved, mate. Keep the good work up!


This is Rye, presenting Best Cid's Knight.

As everyone knows, one does not simply walk into Mordor ask to become a Cid's Knight; it's something that you need to be recognized and selected for. Unless you provide sexual favors... but that's another story. Anyway, each Cid's Knight was selected for possessing all sorts of skills or qualities that are admired in a forum moderator on Eyes On Final Fantasy, such as responsibility, good judgment, regular posting and a generally clean record among other things. But of course, those are just base qualities, and our Cid Knight's deviate from those quite a bit with their quirks that we love them for (who could love a moderating robot, anyway?! ... well, except for clout <3), along with what they do for us.

And they surely do help us a lot. Our crazy shinra are the metaphoric mommies of the fora, protecting the little'uns from the bullies, resolving conflicts (he's making fun of my post! ;_; ), helping us with our wardrobe (your signature is too big and it causes seizures *snip*), covering our eyes during the naughty parts of the movies (you can't post that snow penis! *ban* *snip*) and... well, I'd say that they kiss our boo-boos, but I think most of the Cid Knights' mouthes are too busy for that... ewwww!

But off of THAT horrid subject, let me give a description of each of our CKs as to rejolt your memory about why we love (or HATE :bigsmile:) each of them so much.

Behold the Void

Our first possible winner of this award, Behold the Void is a very quiet, polite but efficient Cid's Knight and a hard worker. He's very well known for his writing skills, and I've had the good fortune to see them for myself through working in the EoFF Post. He's very helpful and skilled with video games, and he's very knowledgeble in anime, and in general.

Del Murder

It seems that for me that Del Murder has always been at EoFF, it surprises me that he joined on a year before I did. Del seems to be very much a behind the scenes type of moderator, so I'll comment more on the person behind the blue custom title. He was mostly known for being part of the Spam Brigade, supposedly looking like Ben Stiller, and making various witty comments by the oldbies, but now he's known for many things with his fellow Cid's Knight girlfriend, Miriel, such as only letting his feet be seen on the message board and being a sweet boyfriend. He also works on the EoFF Post too as the jumbler, so he does a lot for the EoFF community.

eestlinc

Though our dear elsie has been inactive as of late, he is still loved by many people and considered an excellent Cid's Knight. When he is active, he's not only a very fast-acting and witty member, but a kind and intelligent one. One small example of the type of moderator elsie was a time when someone posted a birthday thread for themself, upset that no one made one for them, so he merged a thread to make it look like the thread was made for them, to cheer her up and to be sweet.

fire_of_avalon

Firey firey foa is one of the more active and up front moderators these days among the fora (fora foa!) She's known as a very vivacious and funny woman, and she's incredibly fun to talk to in #eoff and especially in #tot (;D ;D). As a Cid's Knight, she's good at keeping people in line, especially in the Eyes On Each Other forum. She has a very strong personality that makes people flock to her and admire her.

Hsu

The first half of Hsubah, Hsu is a very technically savvy and helpful member. I always see him helping in the Help Forum, if he's not on #eoff chatting with his girlfriend and fellow CK, rubah. Hsu used to have a nipple pinching avatar that was stolen by some guy! All in all, Hsu is a very helpful guy.

kikimm

The usernote princess, kikimm seems to be very much behind the scenes moderation-wise, though I hear horror stories from my friends about how hateful and angry she is. But I think that's slander and lies, because kikimm seems very chilled and laid-back, especially from what I've seen from old forums made by Psychotic. Though she does supposedly have a few fetishes. Anyway, back to EoFF... I don't see her often upfront with her moderating, but this one time, she totally told off some member in the best way possible, and it was amazing.

Levian

One of the newest Cid's Knights, this crazy viking has definitely caught up to older CKs in moderating activity, between closing threads, editting posts, and fixing signatures. I'm sure no one expected his knighting, but it as an excellent choice, because he's one of the most effective Cid's Knights lately. And not only that, he's really funny and has the love of many members. He's one of the new generation of Cid Knight's.

[And this kind of has nothing to do with this award, but he's my teacher of Norwegian words. Thanks to Levian, I have the Norwegian vocabulary of a pornobaron (Norwegian for porn baron!) Squeee!]

Miriel

Miriel is also one of the newer Cid Knight's, knighted a little before Psychotic, a quite a bit before Levian, much to his dismay at Miriel always beating her at the internet! Miriel is an all around very efficient Cid's Knight who does the general menial CK work like editting posts and signatures and such. She manages to do that while balancing her wedding photography business and her hobby of loving puppies, cuddling Tony, and taking photos of their food. She seems to be the moral compass of the Cid Knights, and many people love her and appreciate her for that.

Necronopticous

Necronopticous is one of the more mysterious and low-key Cid's Knights, but he seems to be more of a relaxed live and let live moderator like RSL was when he was on staff. Necronopticous is an extraordinarily talented MS Paint artist and a kind person in general who has helped me out with my own art and photography. He is also very game savvy and helps people with video games as well. He's unusual in that he wears red nail polish painted on by some girl and that he has an affair from Marshall Banana with Kishi, but we all love him for that.

Psychotic

It's almost shocking to feel as if Psychotic has always been on the staff, because just a few years ago, he was the unofficial BAoTW leader, master spammer, and mortal enemy of Loony BoB, and look now! Now he's one of the more harder working and upfront Cid Knight's of the fora. That is, between posting in usernotes! His humor was definitely not lost during his transition from spammer to Cid's Knight, however, as you can clearly see in his posts, so many a member look up to him as their favorite CK.

rubah

The second half of Hsubah, rubah is one of the sweeter CK's and has amassed many friends and fans from #eoff. She works hard as a Cid's Knight, but she also works very hard as an artist, ranging from watercolor, dolling, and tablet art, among other things. She is the very affectionate girlfriend of Hsu, and with their powers combined, Hsubah is one of the CK couples.

Zeromus_X

The newest Cid's Knight! What sets him out is that he is one of the most pure moderators (I thought it was cute that he doesn't know Bley's Crotch <3 xD), so he has a very fresh moderating style. He works very hard at what he does as a moderator, and is very helpful in the Gaming Forum, which is where he was watched mostly and asked to be a Cid's Knight, supposedly. I think his very positive fresh posting style has attracted the support of many members.



Here at EoFF we’re like a family. If you disagree with me, you can just shut the hell up, because I’m always right. Always.

And in any huge, multi-cultural, extended family, you have those figures, those familial leaders who run the show, own the biggest house (the forums, duh) and who boss all of us around even when we don’t ask for it. The Eyeson equal to these people are your administrators. Each unique personality brings something … well, unique to the EoFF family table. Respect your elders by watching me try to figure out what the hell those qualities are, below.

Kawaii Ryûkishi Even though daddy is what many EoFFers like to call him, Kishi is more like your dirty uncle who has secretive, but nonetheless useful connections that can help you out. Like changing your name. But, like that dirty uncle, he’ll only do it if it suits him. He’ll also do it if it amuses him, or turns him on.

cl_out cl_out is your elusive cousin, niece, or grandpa who doesn’t pay very much attention to you, and is strictly involved in the upkeep of the house (forums). That don’t mean he doesn’t love you, he just doesn’t know how to show it.

Samauraid We all have a special place in our heart for that uber-nerd in your family, typically an in-law wouldn’tcha know, who can do pretty much anything involving technology. Thereby making you seem like a Neanderthal. Samauraid helps out Papaw cl_out in keeping house, and can program your VCR.

Loony BoB Bless his heart. He tries his best, but we all know cl_out and Sam keep him around for show. He is a pretty fella, though! Aren’t you just precious. ;) In reality, BoB does a lot of the same stuff cl_out and Sam do. But when I asked him about it, he couldn’t think of anything so I made all the above up.

Leeza Leeza is mama. She cleans up y’all’s messes,and are you even thankful for it? No. But she’ll always be there for you anyway. Leeza is highly involved with cleaning up threads and merging accounts when someone screws up and makes a new one. And she even believes you when you say you forgot your old password. Because she loves you.

ShlupQuack Courtesy mention! Shlup is like your spoiled baby sister. She does necessary things when it suits her, and she likes pink way, way, way too much. She’s also an awesome tattletale. But where would we be without her? Severely lacking a good kick in the seat of the pants.

Yamaneko Moocher cousin. Eats all your food, and is always in the big house relaxing. This is what he’s famous for, but I don’t actually know what he does (everytime we have a get together, smells kind of funny. Maybe it’s just me.)

Roogle Roo keeps us all entertained. He is the multitalented third cousin who you don’t really know is related to you, but is better than you at everything. He raps, he does tech stuff, and when the mood strikes him, he keeps us all in stitches.

Cid Cid is Big Daddy who keeps a roof over our heads. None of us would be here without him. Y’all keep that in mind.



The Forums Staff Highwind Award

I must say I was flattered when Award Guy asked me to present this award. But then I realized that I was like the only CK on at the moment when he PMed me and he probably did it out of desperation more than anything else. :p

Anyway, the first thing I did, and the first thing I'm sure every newly appointed Staff member does when they first enter the plushy, crowded, porn-filled, Staff forum, was to check the massive thread detailing who should be a CK and why. Y'all should see some of those threads, they're long and full of statistics and haggling back and forth.

Who should be knighted? Her? Maybe. Him? Yes! Wait, no. Doesn't he have a thing against cats? :cat:

The thing that comes up most often though, is "what would this person bring to the table?" Perspectives and all that good stuff. We have Kishi and Necro who bring some really bizarre things to Staff discussions. We have Del Murder and Yamaneko with the witticisms. BoB with his pie charts. And so on and so forth.

I had the opportunity upon my very first post in the Staff forum, to haggle with the best of 'em over who would be the next CK. There was one person who stood out over everyone else in terms of what this person could bring to the Staff forum.

Is this person active in the forums? Definitely.
Is this person well-liked? Probably one of the most popular members of all time.
Is this person dedicated and trustworthy? No doubt.

This member, my newbie CK buddy, was someone who I don't think any of us doubted would use his unique personality, humor and position within the community to bring a fresh new perspective to the Staff forum. And boy were we right! This person has been a great member of the EoFF community for a long time and now he has the distinction of being a great Staff member who has contributed buttloads through his efforts as a CK.

So the Forums Staff Highwind Award goes to... Psychotic!

Congratulations to Psycho Paul. I had no doubts that you would be a superb Cid's Knight, even before you were knighted. You are the bane of second accounts, and investigator extraordinaire. And I'll admit that I'm a little jealous of your lightening quick banning moves and super fast response times to warned posts.

So there you have it, Pscyho. The Staff as a whole approves of you. Don't let it get to your head. ;)
Hey Miriel, I actually asked you 'cause I figured you have the right kind of 'relationship' with Paul to present such an award. :p



Alas, we arrive at the Best Female award, and I am saddened to say that time constraints will have to cut down all the things I want to say about these ladies. So I will just say here that all are brilliant members of this forum and each fully deserving of this award. With that said, I have 7 minutes to do some personal things, so!

Christmas - Little Snowy Heart will have probably had a blinding Ciddie's by the time this speech is posted, as she has had a blinding six months. People have come to love her spamming on the forums of Old Manus and before that, the HATE. As well as that, her drawings and comics have kept us all amused. However, where she really shines is in person, to talk to her is to know she's an awesome person.

fire_of_avalon - Megan is one of our very best Cid's Knights, and one of our very best people. She's always willing to help, and will talk to anyone if they need someone (I know this from personal experience, and I thank her for it.) She also is one of the most entertaining #tot players. Long days and pleasant nights, Gunslinger.

kikimm - kikimm is awesome. Really. Maybe you don't know her that well, I don't know how many people she talks to a lot, but obviously enough to get her here. She is funny as hell and one of the best friends i've made from this place. Best female? Quite possibly.

Leeza - Always watching over the forum with the eyes of a Hawk, Leeza is a fierce force to be reckoned with, and keeps EoFF running like you wouldn't believe. But she's also a caring and lovely person. It's good many people can see that.

Resha - One of the smartest people I know, loads of fun and she can take a hell of a lot of stick. She's also crazy mad insane and always makes her friends smile when they need it. ARSENAL STILL SUCK THO

Rye - Also one of the funniest people I know, a madly talented singer, artist, photographer, whatever you can think of, she's probably good at it. Much loved by many people here, hopefully around for a long time.

Word has it Dan was then brutally murdered by people complaining about the lengths of his speeches (that or the owner of the netcafé he was at), and so another person had to do this, but I liked his speech enough to post it anyways.

One of the most time-honored traditions of the Ciddies is the simple question of “who is the best?” The “best” is never really defined for us, we just send in our nominations and votes like good little sheep so that Award Guy’s bully boys won’t come after us (and anyone else who’s received a threatening PM knows that the savagery in which they will relentlessly pursue you to nominate and vote for people knows no bounds).

Here we shall be presenting an award for the “best female”, whatever that may mean. We’ve an impressive list of impressive members, certainly, so obviously there’s some reasoning that went into nomination.

The ladies here all add something to EoFF, something that we would sorely miss without their presence. They all have their own unique presence and personality, and each one could be a potential winner here, albeit for completely different reasons.

Christmas: Christmas is fairly new to EoFF but she has gained a great deal of popularity due to her beautiful MS Paint artwork, her love of PuPu, and the constant invocation of Old Manus in some way, shape or form.

While a far cry from the most serious member out there, Christmas constantly brings a splash of color (often quite literally) to the EoFF pages with her vibrant artwork and personality.

fire_of_avalon: foa is a classy gal and a great CK who books no nonsense and does so with style. Her fiery personality matches her moniker, and her sense of fairness and dedication to keeping EoFF a great place are unquestionable.

foa is equal parts saucy, insightful, sardonic, and spicey, which is in itself a recipe for awesome.

kikimm: Although not as active as some of the other nominees, kikimm still manages to make a meaningful impact on the community. This lady-knight is good at what she does, and it shows.

A kind and helpful person, kikimm might not have the most to say, but what she says always has merit to the topic at hand. Be it serious or silly, kikimm’s posts radiate a special gold that only she can produce.

You’ll find said gold on eBay shortly, I’m sure.

Leeza: Where Leeza goes, green text and cats inevitably follow. Our resident female cat-loving admin has a strong dedication to making this forum a better place. Although some balk at her alleged “strictness”, most can agree that Leeza’s decisions are sound, fair, and reasonable.

Leeza’s become something of a fixture here at EoFF, many of us weren’t here before she was and can’t really fathom an EoFF without her. Whether it’s through her moderation or her apparent resolution to bring more cat smileys to our posts, Leeza always does a superior job, something nobody can dispute.

Resha: Resha possesses a strong, distinctive personality that seeps through in even the most simple of posts. An eloquent and opinionated lady, Resha has the notable and commendable tendency to post in complete sentences, something many members should take note of and strive to emulate.

Resha has a strong voice in each of her posts, and the kind of person she is is apparent for all to see. EoFF could not ask for a better poster.

Rye: Rye has accomplished the unthinkable. She’s managed to somehow date Raistlin and not end up on the staff’s blacklist.

Or has she?

Well, that noteworthy accomplishment aside, Rye’s presence on EoFF has been felt for quite some time. With more wit and charm that you can shake an old man’s stick at (not that he hasn’t tried); Rye makes her presence known through sheer force of character. With great graphic work and a distinct presence and personality, Rye just belongs at EoFF and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

ShlupQuack: Perhaps she is a man! But if that were the case, I wouldn’t have to be typing this up and thus I’d be saving time to do other things, like sleep. However, for the sake of convenience we’ll be assuming for the purpose of this exercise that she is, indeed, mostly female.

A recently returned admin, Shlup makes a name for herself with a personality that can best be described as slap in the face followed by a punch to the gut, several knees to areas best left unmentioned, and a succession of sucker punches that leave one sprawling. Best of all, this is all served with a smile! And evil, eeevil smile.

For awhile, EoFF was free from her dark clutches. But now, with the power firmly back in her grasp, Shlup can once again embark on a campaign of evil, destruction, and pink. A known detractor of anything that involves either Raistlin, The Man, or (God forbid) both, Shlup can be known to attack with posts so sharp they can pierce even the hardest, most cynical or unreasonable human heart from miles away, through the slowest dial-up connection and all within a few seconds.

And that’s why we love her.

Xander: Former CK, lover of pandas, and founder of the Kingdom Hearts Trinity, Xander is well-known and widely accepted as the one of EoFF’s bastions of cuteness. She literally oozes the stuff, but in her case, this is a good thing (As opposed to the alleged “cuteness” of other members, see Shlupquack’s disgusting pink stuff).

After resigning her position, Xander’s presence was sadly scarce on the forum, but her renewed posting has been a wonderfully revitalizing occasion for all of us who, deep down in our hearts, missed talking about pandas as if they actually mattered.

Which they do! I swear!


The people here make up everything that is great about our fora. Without these people in our community, EoFF would be less than its current stellar self. We have a slew of awesome members here at Eyes on Final Fantasy. For a few examples, I can name Leeza, Christmas, Resha, kikimm, and Xander. These are exemplary members, who add a lot to our community, whether it be in a moderating position, flat out good contribution to discussion, or in some other way that endears them to our hearts.

None of these examples matter at the moment, though, because this Ciddie is for the Best Male.

All of the earlier mentioned sappy and sentimental junk follows for the males of the fora as well. My attention is usually limited when it comes to guys, but apparently everyone else has noticed a few good men. The following gents have been nominated to be 2006's Ciddies Best Male, and each of them deserve a little blurb for making it this far.

DK, better known as Kyono, has been a long-time member here at Eyes on Final Fantasy. Known for his sense of humor and easy-going nature, Kyon contributes to EoFF in many ways. Kyon oversees the Eyes on You survey, works on the front site as a staffer, and even goes so far as to make signatures for people to use upon request. Beware, however, his crotch-thrusting avatar; it may poke an eye out!

Levian, often labeled as Psychotic's twin, never disappoints to entertain EoFFers with his antics both as a member of the fora and as a Cid's Knight. Responsible for making the best Final Fantasy VI thread ever, beating up Old Manus, and causing many a member to dress up a chocobo, Levian makes EoFF all the more bearable. Heck, as a Knight, he even sympathizes with you when he closes your thread. How can you not like the guy?

Loony BoB is almost synonymous with EoFF. I, myself, have never seen a day when he was not an administrator, getting his hands into everything. He keeps track of the chatroom's statistics, organizes competitions, goes around and drags up enthusiasm out of who know's where, and he just keeps going. To see EoFF without BoB would be to see a diminished EoFF, so you can tell that this guy counts as a part of it.

Psychotic, often labeled as Levian's twin, never disappoints to entertain EoFFers with his antics both as a member of the fora and as a Cid's Knight. Responsible for making BoB take second place in contests so many times, Psychotic makes EoFF all the more bearable. Heck, as a Knight, he even sympathizes with you when he closes your thread. How can you not like the guy?

Roto13 has gained attention as a new member, settling down and becoming a fixture in General Chat. He forks out usernotes like a gil farmer, earning a certain noteriety in that department, as well as being known as an argumentative factor in the Signature/Banner forum. Certainly a member that can go far, but will he be this year's Best Male?

The Captain is the incarnation of purity and goodness, always a light to shine on and help his fellow EoFFers. If we could get the charge to hold, we would charge The Captain of writing the rules of proper netiquette and mannerisms. Always ready to offer advice and politely give out his opinion, this man makes not only the fora as a whole a better place, but Eyes on Each Other, that disturbing section of town, safer to travel. All he asks is that all of you take care.

TrowaBartonIV ^_^, better known as Bert, has always been a welcome face on EoFF. Utterly contradictory, Bert is opinionated and considerate, he has both a heart of gold and a show dedicated to evil, and he would sell his car for gas money. What the heck? What a guy.

Vincent, Thunder God is new, having only come to EoFF in March of this year, but already by the end of his first year, he is up to vote for as Best Male on EoFF. It probably helps that he has a religion established around himself, and that he almost audaciously asks for more usernotes before putting in a small please, which is amusingly endearing. Making it this far in such a short time is truly a wonderful thing.

So, with so many awesome prospects for a winner, who will it be? I do not know; we will have to ask Award Guy for the results...



Well, looks we’ve finally reached the end eh? Best Member. This is EoFF’s highest honor, meaning that more people like this one person than the others, unless they lied when they voted. First let me say that if you’ve been keeping up with these Ciddies from the start until this point, I salute you and question you sanity. But that’s beside the point, which I will get to after a short history lesson.

Thanks to the gravity and importance that seems to surround it, the past winners of this Ciddie are some pretty big names around here -Cid, Acmlm, Nino Brown, and Scottie all took this back when these were known as The EoFF Awards, before the Ciddies came to be. From the first official Ciddies, Dr Unne looked to be nigh unstoppable, taking the award an unprecedented five consecutive time over the course of two and a half years. However, as they say, the winds of change were about to blow. December of 2003 saw the good doctor sitting back in 5th place, with Loony BoB taking his first win, only to concede it to Del Murder the next time. This was followed by a four Ciddies steak for BoB, placing him ever closer to tying Dr Unne, something that may happen today. Soon we will see if BoB joins Unne, of if one of his many challengers will take it from him. In stark contrast to the previous Ciddies, the nominees here include two Administrators (one being a member of the Senior Staff Site), one Site Staffer, and a Former Staff member. In addition, we have two Veterans, three Regulars, and two Newbies (at least, if you go by AG’s Official Ciddies Standards). All of these fine folks have made it past the arduous nomination step, making it here. Before we get to the actual award (and to buy AG some down time while you read the rest of this), here’s some info regard your nominees.

Known for a while as Unknowns, Christmas is most likely known for her endearing and magical art style, her little blue waving avatar, and her HATE of a certain Stormtrooper. Often referring to her NANNY MANUS, Christmas has recently been working on a dramatization of what would happen if EoFF had a Civil War, compiling her data from scattered Word documents and rare Paint art, ensuring that her graphic novel tells an accurate account of this possible event. In the running for seventeen Ciddies this time around, Christmas would certainly like to have this one be one of her wins. Will the voters feel the same way?

DK’s avatar scares me. :( Still, it’s hard to deny his abilities as a member of the Site Staff, the only one up for Best Member. Formerly known (most recently) as Kyono, DK is constantly helping to keep those of us who actually check the front site updated on the goings on in the World of Square. One of the most famous signature makers on EoFF, Kyono is also known for his somewhat boisterous attitude, most likely a result of his interesting life. After all, not everyone can say that they’ve used EoFF members as prostitutes in order to make money and go to Japan. A man of many talents and names, DK certainly ahs a strong shot at being the winner of this Ciddie.

Evastio can be found more often than not in the Final Fantasy IV forum, if not there then General Chat. A big fan of the game and Cecil especially, Evastio is one of the “Newbies” up for this award. Despite this title, he has definitely made himself known in his months here. A sprite maker of good repute, he always seem to help when he can and provide us with a myriad of questions that run the gamut from the weapon of FFIV villain Golbeza to whether or not a member logs out manually. Certainly an interesting individual, Evastio is somewhat of a darj horse here, going up against some of the big names in present EoFF. All this means, however, is that a win for him would be a tremendous and definitely memorable upset.

It’s been a big six months for EoFF’s most well-known cat lover. Since her victory in the Best Cid’s Knight Category in the Summer ’06 Ciddies, Leeza has been promoted to Administrator and continued her reign as one of the forums most productive staff members. Possessing an ability to bring the wildest of topics back to reality, she is often said to take pleasure out of doling out punishment. However, those who know her will attest that she is a caring friend and counselor who is willing to share some of her wisdom with anyone who asks. Up again for the Nicest and Evilest Member Ciddies, she shows great diverseness and versatility around the forums, making her victory here tonight entirely possible.

Levian has also had an eventful time since the last Ciddies. The most recent addition to the Knights, he took over for Leeza after her promotion to Admin. While often showing off his light-hearted side, most know that Levian, like most people, takes things seriously when the need arises, and his judgement has certainly been a welcome addition to the staff. A sly gypsy from Norway, Levian has been up for the Ciddies before, finally winning his first one last time (it was [b]MLT Win a Ciddie for the very first time[b], which seems rather appropriate). Now, with a trail of closed threads and moderated members left in his two month wake of Knighthood, Levian has his sights set on jumping straight to the big one and taking Best Member, and like everyone else on this list, he deserves it. So can this new Knight take the crown from the others?

Loony BoB is a still a git, but a darn good one at that. An Aucklander turned UKer, BoB is undoubtedly one of the driving forces behind the current EoFF. Starter of such things as the current Site Staff Layout and the EoFF World Map, BoB also founded the Ciddies (earlier the EoFF Awards) and helped with things like the Art Gallery and the EoFF Wiki. He’s also rather infamous for his naughty calendar (usually seen in pictures in the Ciddies Revelations threads, so you probably saw one earlier) and his various online “girlfriends” (poor fellow still doesn’t know that girls can’t work the internet), as well as his never changing Chocobo avatar (other than RSL day and stuff, of course). At the heart though, BoB is a great caring guy who will most likely always be here and who always seems to be available to listen to ideas. Having won this award for the past four Ciddies, BoB stands a good shot of making this magic number five.

Possible on of the most important things you need to know about LunarWeaver is that loves small children from anime. Aside from that, he also apparently loves coffee and cats, as can often be seen by his widespread use of :cat:. Rarely making any sort of sense, Lunar is probably pretty tired right about now, what with Roto weeping outside his window at all hours of the night. While he didn’t really become active until about a year after registering, he ahs steadily began to rise up into the general public mind, often seen around nowadays in an assortment of threads. He claims that his dream is to die in an airplane bathroom via suffocation, but I’m pretty sure a Best Member Ciddie is close behind it. Will he get it tonight?

Oh, Psychotic. What’s the point of doing this paragraph, most of you already know more about this Liverpool fan then you’ll ever need to. In all seriousness though, Psychotic has set the stage for a possible overthrow of this mortal enemy BoB in this Ciddie. Almost always the favorite to become the next new Best Member at EoFF, Psychotic now marches on with a belt load of Knight experience under his belt, all while retaining his usual wit and charm. Wildly popular with the teeming (and unbathed) masses Psychotic probably has a friend in every corner of EoFF, if not several. With his level head and clear thinking, Psychotic looks to once again give BoB a run for his money. Besides, he only lost this award last Ciddies by a single vote, and with the constantly changing sea of members that make up EoFF, this could easily be his moment.

Roto13 must be a serious Harrison Ford fan. Maybe he is Harrison Ford. Either way, Roto has become instantly recognizable thanks to his tendency to feature the actor in his signature and avatar. However, that isn’t the only thing this Regular is known for. Featuring a beard that some have said is up there with RSL’s famous one, Roto become very well-known in the little over a year he’s been here. Outspoken and opinionated, Roto has been banned from Eyes on Each Other a number of times, but these seem to have little effect on him, other than making him wait to jump back in the fray. Still, everyone knows that it’s hard to not like Roto, and this fact can certainly make things interesting tonight.

RSL is probably one of the nicest people you’d ever meet. This lovable Former Staffer recently popped in after a three month missing period to wish everyone a Happy RSL Day. Most well-known for his excellent beard, RSL may look a little gruff at first, but there’s no hiding the fact that he’s a big softie in the best sense of the word. Some may discount him in this due to his lack of recent posting and resignation from the Staff, but many of the older members hold a spot in their hearts for this Eeyore loving lumberjack. Will RSL’s numerous fans succeed in their bid for him to win this coveted Ciddie?

Good lord, what can I say about The Captain? In the interest of keeping this brief, I’ll just go with the basics. Though he’s quick to shrug of his admirers praises by claiming he’s just another fellow, anyone who sees him in action is sure to know the truth is quite to the contrary. An eloquent and sophisticated debater, The Captain has yet to do anything mean at EOFF. Ever. Even when he disagrees with someone, he does so in such polite way that it’s almost hard to believe. This true gentleman is no stranger to the Ciddies, having won such awards as Best Veteran and Nicest Member, but will he be able to score a win at the biggest prize of all?

Having stepped down from the Site Staff, theundeadhero is making yet another appearance in the finals for Best Member. An extremely hard worker here at EoFF, hero was a great asset to the Staff while a member, and since his leaving more than one Staff member has expressed a desire for him to return. Striving to help keep Eyeson interesting, hero has hosted such events as the Battle of the Bands, the EoFF RPG Giveaway contest (which featured some pretty sweet prizes from hero's own collection), and his valiant attempt at the Civil War. Like Christmas, hero is a Paint artist at heart, and occasionally graces the forums with a new adventure of Sandwich Man. A soldier/pope who has put a lot of effort into EoFF over the years, theundeadhero will hopefully stick with us for a long time. But will he also take home this Ciddie? We’ll soon find out.

An extraordinary artist, Traffic has been here for a little over a year and already has his sights set on the Best Member Ciddie. A passionate lover of Final Fantasy VIII, he has also become very integral to the EoFF community in the relatively short time that he’s been here. These Ciddies have been Traffic’s first taste of what it’s like to be nominated, and if his three categories are any indication we’ll be seeing a lot more of him in the future. It would be nice to mark the first time with a Best Member Ciddie though, right?

Well, each of these members has a fair an excellent chance here. Hopefully I’ve stalled enough for AG to catch a quick nap and get ready to do his presenting. I somehow get the feeling that it will be one by one as always. Before I go and you all get to see the results though, I’ve been wondering something. If Award Guy is BoB, and BoB is up for this ward, and no one but Award Guy knows the vote tally, couldn’t this Ciddie be ri -- *shot by sniper*

Yeah, I probably pissed off a few oldbies by referencing something that got started well before I came here. And yes, I do "have a barren imagination and chronic depression as a result of constantly yearning to be half as witty as BOU". Sue me.

It would be impossible of me to choose a favorite or a winner because everyone put such hard work into them.
